  • A really funky track,great upload.

  • I watched a video of these guys, live in concert back in the eighties, they were tremendous. That funky sound just gets you grooving the minute it starts. I thought Austin Howard was one handsome guy with a great voice and the rest of the band were great musicians. Loved the Chapman stick sound from Nick Beggs.

  • Timeless funk, thank You gentlemen, you will never be forgotten!

  • Really funky tune

  • I adored this lil' beauty.

  • This Chapman stick is producing like some kinda wonderfull funky tune here.

  • I remember this from MTV Party Zone in the early 90s...wow!!!

  • WE HAVE TO SPAMM THIS SONG OF ELLIS,BEGGS AND HOWARD!!!

    THE RYTHM IS GREAT!!!

  • This was my first cd ever...

  • heard this more than 20 years ago and always sang along to it but today saw it again,, cool xxuckin cool.. these two guys met on the train in new york and decided to jam together the next day and this what came out.. pity it was the only thing

  • im much more talonted than howard

  • we play this song in our band and it comes still great to young audience. The groove looks simple to play , but it took us quite a while to get that "hypnotic" feeling!!

  • If someone writes about Seal in here I'm gonna be very angry !

  • @chucku00 Why, what's wrong with Seal...? Lol! (:o)

  • I had this on 7" and 12" vinyl from 1988. Please bring those days back!

  • What a hell great beatline and cool sound after all these Years.

  • yee big man i agree, the musik made from black`s is timeless!!!

  • One of my favorite song. Nick Beggs joined John Paul Jones for a mn in a project called Zooma, I saw them live and it was surreal!! Beggs on the chapman stick! Deadly!

  • What's a Chapman Stick?

  • its a guitar and bass in one ,u can find nick playing it on here

  • hahaha howard is my uncle i remember when he had long hair im gona have to show him this if he hasn't seen it.......lol

  • Brilliant funky song.

  • we play a cover of it in our setlist.

people still get dancing hypnotized on this groove. I´ll post a live vid from "funkover" soon!

  • the song is more than lovely!!!MISS MY 80`S SOO too F....G MUCH!I WAS Over 15 years old..Sofia;)

  • It's amazing how much good music was lurking beneath the surface back in the 80's. I always loved Kaja's post-Limahl output. And I had heard of this act before. Twenty years later, I am grooving in my seat. This is a killer tune.

  • You name it. Unfortunately, for all the hype around Kajagoogoo and other teenie bands, for all their flamboyant style and fashion, the true musical quality was not recognized in many cases.

Today, I can only wonder how cool, gifted, and groovy e.g. the bass playing of Nick Beggs already at Kajagoogoo times was - and no-one seemed to recognize how brilliant he actually was those days. His hairdo just stole the show. :-)

And that's somewhat symptomatic for the 80ies in general.

  • Ace stuff, thanks a lot for posting. I may take my 7" cover version off YouTube now the real thing is here! Cheers, Jake.

  • J'adore, très créative pour une chanson des années 80, elle reste intemporelle.

  • Good memories! Thanx!

  • Built from Turn Your Back on Me... Fantastic song this one!!!

  • on a good night they were the best band in the world.

on a bad night they were the second best band in the world.

  • Thanx Nick. Great music !!!
