When calculating a skyscraper's heigh, I prefer buildings without spires. Adding a spire just to increase the overall height is cheating. At the moment, Shanghai World Financial Center, at 492m, is the tallest of all and has the tallest skydeck. Officially though, the tallest is Taipei 101 (509 m including spire, but only 450 without it).

The CN tower was built in 1972 and is currently the 2nd tallest building in the world behind the Burj Dubai. Both, particularly the CN was built WAY before to published this video, so I think you need to research before posting information on the web.

um hey......you do know the burj dubai has been under construction since 2004 and by july of 2007 it surpassed the height of taipei 101 and in august of 07 passed the CN tower making it the tallest free standing structure so by the time this video was posted it was the tallest in the world........wake up.

Bud if you look up Building in the dictionary, it states "In architecture, construction, engineering and real estate development the word building may refer to one of the following:

Any man-made structure used or intended for supporting or sheltering any use or continuous occupancy" and it is possible to get into the CN tower so therfor it IS classified as a building.

i am srry but the cn tower is declared as a spire and not a real building . the reason its like that is because the cn tower is something u go up in and look down,unlike something like for example the burj dubia witch is a 7 star hotel,so for the tallest MANMADE structers in the world the burj dubia will come first then the cn tower,i hope what i have told u helped u.

Plus many of the tallest buildings in the world right now are the only tall buildings in the area, but look at Nyc city. It has many tall and famous buildings.

Those were the tallest towers a few years ago. Now, there are a lot more growing like Burj Dubai, the Shanghai world financial center, the freedom tower, fordham tower, al bait towers, etc. You should make a new one.

The Petronas Towers should get moved down a slot. I think it's garbage that they're taller on a weird technicality CTBUH guideline that doesn't let the Sears Tower count its antennas, but DOES allow Petronas to count theirs. I mean, now it doesn't matter with Taipei 101 and Burj coming, but that really doesn't make sense how they did that. I mean, the Sears Tower is seriously about 250 feet taller than those buildings. Look it up.

Petronas doesn't hate antennas, it has a spire. That's counted because it is considered apart of the building. The Sears Tower's antennas are not because they were put on after the construction of the building.
