  • บทสวดบูชาเจ้าแม่กวนอิม.

  • As we are everything to begin with and just don't know it it does not matter what we visualize, it is always just a part of the whole.

  • peacefull

  • 1000 armed in sanskrit is sahasra baahu.For normal human beings they appear like 1000 arms. but the meaning is infinite. When i was a teenager i used to mock shiva's third eye. only after reading so many scriptures i understood what it is!

  • many paths

  • thank you for the very peaceful mantra. However... I dont believe that Shakyamunyi Buddha would agree with having faith in a 1000 armed , 11 headed being or anything or anyone outside of ourselves (our own Buddha nature) what do you think about this?

  • Well I'm not Buddhist but according to Mahayana Sutras, Avalokiteshvara is a very important Bodhisattva and honestly we don't know what the Buddha would or wouldn't have approved of because all of the scriptures both in Pali and Sanskrit came after his death. I don't see any problem in worshiping deities. I know a lot of Mahayana/ Vajrayana Buddhists who don't see a problem with it and there is nothing in Buddhadharma that prohibits such activities.

  • It is just a visualisation. So it is part of ourselves. We aren't apart from anything anyway :o)

  • some religions give freedom of worship , one can worship to god anyway aslong as he/she is good. so dnt count how many hands the deity have try take the philosophy;

  • Please read the Great Dharani Sutra in which the Lord Buddha explains the origin of 1000 arms and eyes Avalikitesvara Bodhisattva and why we should pay respect and have faith in Avalokitesvara

  • @Jackthemeat If you meet the Buddha on the way, kill the Buddha.

    Your comment illustrates why that lesson is so important, lets us get caught up...
