This is a beautiful and wonderful video, and I know both of your parents could not be more touched and proud of you for it in Heaven. God bless you and yours.
Thank you for your comment. This song means alot to me and meant alot to both my parents. They are in a better place and I know they are smiling down with pleasure at the recent changes in my life. Recent? How about the changes over the last 20 years. To us it is a long time, however, in the grand scheme of things it is but a mere drop of time, when in God's time being infinite, 20 years is a mere flash.
@BruceGF mate your parents will be in a better place know and dont let anyone tell you diffrent ok beautiful song and god bless you and your parents.amen
@BruceGF Those are the most beautiful words I have ever read. Sir I may not know you and I might never will but may god bless you and have a long and prosperous life.
As a veteran, I remember all those who were there before me and after me. My church has a vast military history, and there you will find veterans from all service branches. I was Army and later transferred into the Airforce, one of my best friends at my church was a Merchant Mariner. Each Remembrance Day Church Service our Pastor reads the names from the plaques (2) we have on the walls of those who served in both great wars.
Beautiful and powerful in its simplicity. Had this played at my father's funeral back in '93. Always one of my very favorites. Thank you, and God bless.
After reading it I had reason to think and reflect. I was holding both my parents when they passed away, but I was not there for them totally. I was a member of the military at the time and I did the best I could do at the time. Rather then abandoning your father perhaps you did what you felt was best at the time, and wish you could have done more. We all face those times differently and we all do our best to endure the situations we are faced with.
My mother died in 2000. The last thing she did before checking herself into the hospital, was to check my father in as well. He could not care for himself and wound up in a nursing home where he suffered four years before passing away. He bore it all with diginity and grace. I am not proud of myself for allowing this to happen to my father, but I am so very proud of him. When I hear this song, I think of him suffering and abandoned by his son, but not by His Son.
I have two videos I made for my funeral. One has been approved by my pastor, the other he has not seen yet. The one that has been approved is a poem I wrote entitled THE UNFINISHED POEM, and is set to Ave Maria, the other is more of an autobiography of my life and is set to Wings of an Angel. I believe he will approve the second one as well.
Thank You. Once I can afford to get a digital camera I hope to do a better and more appropiate video in tribute and honour to my parents. Right now I can't get pictures I have of them into my computer. Some day and I hope real soon I will be able to get it done.
Your welcome, but it I who should be thanking you for your kind comment. It is true they are both in a better place and together again. As I was composing this video I chuckled at my father chasing my mother around again like they were young again. In God's loving arms they will forever be.
Thank you and again you speak truth. All things come from Him, and I thought this video is a fitting tribute to and memory of my mother and father who are now both deceased.
Thank you God for making us and saving us!!

The Video Near My God to Thee helps a person realize that without faith in a higher power life would not exist as humans know it to be.
