Thanks for makin me laugh Zipster xD honestly, I think the teen years of shoveling and mowing grass are almost extinct, every once in a while, it'll happen, but otherwise it's just time to BS around until you're FORCED to get a real job.
I live in Kansas and we just got our first snow of the year (in my county), last week. I think we received around 2'. It's already melted and we're back up in the mid-60's to low 70's. :( whatever happened to our winters? use to be nothing for us to get 3-5' of snow...now we're lucky if we get an hour or two of flurries (until you get up closer to the Colorado or Nebraska border).
Oh my gosh, in your Brain Fart Moments when you started laughed, I laughed my ass off. My Grampy came in and asked if I was ok xD Gawsh, You make me laugh!!
I'd shovel your driveway for you, but I live in New Brunswick, Canada xD
Shovel snow for $5? F that! I'd want at least $10 to $20, depending on how much snow and how big of an area needs to be shoveled... Hmmm... I suppose a short sidewalk could "sell" for $5... Who knows... I do know that I live in Illinois and I am SICK of this winter "stuff". Take care, buddy! Spring is coming... I hope. Ugh.
I shoveled my whole cauldisac.. if that's how you spell it.. I did it for free though.. I'm the only kid left in my cauldisac cause all the folks are old and everyone have lived ehre for quite a while.. i was the youngest soo yea... i was raised well I guess..
This snow is pissing me off ._. that Blizzard that happened some days ago was just terrible... there are now snow mountains that are like fucking 6 ft tall which is like 2 ft bigger than me Dx
i loved the last few minutes of it, hon. i thought that was hilariuos. and I KNOW1 it seems that im the only sane friggin teenager anywhere east of the Mississippi. Zippy I"m with you, times have changed-- no lil kids come around to do our snow pile drives---but I"m on the reverse side, I have a retired neighbor and another neighbor who always removes my snow. They won't take anything for thanks!!!! I bring them cinnamon rolls and goodies and they don't want anything in return!
I think I have watched every single one of your videos (some I've watched a million times) and you always make me smile no matter how crappy I'm feeling. you are the best of the bestest <3
It's an offshoot of an affluent society, Zip. Too many kids have everything they want just handed to them. They don't need to, and aren't expected to, work for it. Shovel a sidewalk? Out there in the cold? Don't be ridiculous! I'm *far* too busy playing COD and eating junk food.
When I saw the news about the explosion, I instantly thought of you, knowing it was in your area. I see your comment that it was about 5 miles away. Way too close, considering the devastation, but thank God you're OK.
I have some local snow shoveling kids around, but since I have a long driveway, the two girls who do it for me get 10 dollars each. I set up my snow shoveling back in the fall. When their family was outside unloading groceries, they live across the street and down a bit, I asked them and their mom if the girls would shovel in the winter. My deal is that if it is bad enough for schools to be off or opening late, they shovel.
You're so funny, we just had 5 ft high snow shoveled off our roof, cost 400 dollars. Then had to pay someone snow blow the crap off our sidewalk and hire a plow to clean the driveway. Then partner had to take a hand saw...yes...a hand saw, to cut out hunks of snow away from our mailbox so that the mailman and the paper person could get at it.
LOL My sons went around to shovel off peoples steps, but I have to give them a lesson in economics because they were only charging $1 LOL at least the ones they did gave them $5 :)
BIIIIIIIIITCH, SHOVEL MY SHIT! BIIIIIIIIITCH, SHOVEL MY SHIT! BITCHES IN THE CLUB ACTIN LIKE THEY DRUNK AS SHIT COMING UP TO ME, WANNA SUCK A NIGGA DICK I ASK EM WATS UP AND I POINT DOWN THERE THEY ALWAYS SEEM SURPRISED THAT I HAVE NO HAIR SHE GETTING DOWN TO BUSINESS MAN THIS BITCH A KEEPER SHE KNOW HOW TO WORK IT AND I JUST MEET HER THEN I TURN AROUND AND YOU KNOW WHAT I SAY I TELL THAT BITCH SHE A HOE AND SHE START SHOVELING AWAY BIIIIIIIIIITCH, SHOVEL MY SHIT BIIIIIIIIIIITCH, SHOVEL MY SHIT
You were expecting kids today to lift a finger to help out in the community and make a buck? They can make more money looking poor and obsequious panhandling in front of the liquor store... Bwahahahahaha! Spare some change, mister?
Here, kids only come around after a light flurry, something I could sweep off with a broom. Let it really snow and you'd think kids had become extinct.
You crack me up bigtime! Love your little rants so much Zip! lololololol :) Kids are frickin lazy as these days mate...I think you'll have to shovel it your self...or buy a sled.
That's because kids don't want to do any actual WORK like us older folks did when we were kids. Growing up as a pre-teen and teenager back in the 70's in Anchorage, Alaska during the winter I would go around the neighborhood and ask if people wanted heir driveways and walkways shoveled in order to make extra money. I got exercise out of it and 50 cents per job. Then after I got done my mom made me a nice hot cup of cocoa with the little marshmallows!
It's because we live in the age where the many parents spoil their kids rotten. Therefore, they have no use for money, and therefore, they don't give a flying fuck about your sidewalk. Sad, but true. I would've done it for you though Zipster. =P
LOL when I was a teenager.. Years ago.. I still wouldnt have shoveld your side walk for $5...... thats only about a joint worth.. ... well on second thought at that time I probably would have!! LOL
Kids are exempt from any physical labor these days. I can't believe I'm gonna say this (god, my dad used to talk this way!), but when I was a kid, my folks made me shovel out the elderly neighbors...for free! It was character building. : )
I have to keep reminding myself that it's only February, and that since I live in Michigan, we will probably have snow until March. I am somewhat sick of snow! And of having my parents make me shovel the driveway.
I need to know the same thing...ain't no one around when you need it done! Then some how they all show up walking down the streets and stuff AFTER I done cleaned it all off! Last year when it was even worse in Lancaster County I did have teen I never seen before come and ring my bell and ask if I needed any help w/the snow. THANK GOD for him cause it would have taken me forever to clear the 2 foot of snow off my drive and sidewalks!
My neighbor's kid helped us after that Dec. 26-27th storm. My father's snowblower is only a foot high and the driveway was at least covered in 24 to 30 inches of snow. It was OK for the driveway itself but not for the plowed in apron. The kid came by with an 18 inch high blower. We gave him $20.00 and he cleared the apron.
i saw the title and thought " OH GOD, they've put zippy in a nursing home"....hahahahaha...im sick of snow too...and actually now a days, it's probably like this.....some little kid knocks on your door and says " hey zipster, shovel your damn sidewalk or we're gona sue you"....LOL
LMAO!!!! You crack me up!!! Kids today will expect you to shovel their sidewalk!! Tough luck with all that snow....I wish I could send you some of the desert sunshine....it's almost T-shirt weather out here again. -Steve-

I can shovel as well as I did 40 years ago :o)
Here in Dublin Oh you don't have to do your sidewalks. When I had my dog I had to walk in the street. I do my driveway and walk way. But you have had much more than us. Hey I heard spring bird songs. Spring is on the way!!!
over here in Morrisville Pa....there are tons of kids who have been coming around after each storm to shovel! Thank God because I am disabled and cannot do it any longer...these kids must be making a small fortune after each storm....so great to know they are there to help!

My son (nearly 14) shovels our sidewalk and you would think he's dying when hes done. But my 12 year old nephew makes a killing shoveling his neighbors walks and driveways. He called the other day to tell me he's earned $500 since December. And, that's on top of working an hour and a half each day at a neighboring party store stocking their soda and milk coolers!
My brothers shoveled snow when we were kids. I did the babysitting and helped Mom clean the house for a quarter when I was 12. Kids get everything handed to them and little hard work is not heard of.
We were bitching about this during our last snowstorm. Not a single kids was out shovelling! We loved snow days when we were kids because we could really make some good *couch* drug money. Lawn mowing, same thing in summer. No kids around doing that either. Lazy little bastids!
this new generation dont know what working is , they are to busy.when i was young, i pushed a mower tru town and mowed yards all the time.raked leaves, cleaned gutters, kids dont do that no more, lol
HaHa! I live about 15 or so miles from you so I know what you mean. Thankfully I live in a condo and do not have to worry about shoveling. plowing etc. My grandson who is 9, does some shoveling in his neighbor but as you said times have changed. He gets anywhere from $8-20 so the little bugger can make 40 or 50 bucks when he decides to put down his 360 controller and go outside, lol. Have a good week, stay warm, it is freaking cold and windy out there tonight
We live in NH and this winter has been terrible. I do say my kids have been good about shoveling without being asked. We have downstairs neighbors that share a walkway with us and my kids always shovel the pathway for them as well for no money just to be nice and help out. I think it has alot to do with how kids are raised now a days. I'll send them over to your house to shovelwhen their done =)
at the airport they use UREA and so I took some home and now use it! you can get it at a home depot or maybe lowes... We get ours at a Garden center. $20 for a 25 pound bag
Zipster, kids don't have any concept of work or money. Luke will help me out around the house, but if I tell him I will pay him, it's like that makes it worse? I feel for your situation, my thought would to just break down and get a snow blower brother!!
Omg this had me laughing my ass off.I freaking love you zip

ritzadee 1 year ago
@ritzadee Just watching TV?
It will not be too much longer that your parents will support you.
(18 is usually the breaking point)
#1 you will need to pay for the cable (or dish) to hook up tv #2 pay for the utilities to run that tv.
#3 you will have to pay for that tv itself & pay for the home that it is in..
(Better start working now while you are still able to save?)
When you are cut off?
Thats it you are on your own!
Good luck in life!

this new generation dont know what working is , they are to busy.when i was young, i pushed a mower tru town and mowed yards all the time.raked leaves, cleaned gutters, kids dont do that no more, lol

Don't put the salt directly on the sidewalk. Scatter it after a few inches have accumulated....it will dissolve and not be so lethal to the concrete.

Try potassium cloride on the cement. It's more expensive but a lot easier on the cement.

And it's useless when temperatures dip below 10F. I use a combination of gravel, sand and salt.
Salt also damages your car, including your brake pads.

Zipster, kids don't have any concept of work or money. Luke will help me out around the house, but if I tell him I will pay him, it's like that makes it worse? I feel for your situation, my thought would to just break down and get a snow blower brother!!
I have used the hell out of mine this year!!
