I love Richard, though this is all schtick. I wrote an essay over 10 years ago in high school and pointed out specific examples where Richard would often change subjects instantly and indirectly plug some business of his. For example, Stern asks something, and Richard nonchalantly says, "I think I should take your mother on the cruise-to-lose." If only I could find that essay, though I'm sure it was lost in my old 486 computer.

I was obsessed with the Stern show back in high school, and a lot of my writings and speeches in English class revolved around the Stern show. This particular essay I wrote was about Richard Simmons' clever use of the image he created for himself to plug his products on the Stern show.
