  • I really liked the original idea of Aladdin's mother being in the movie. Too bad it was never offical

  • This is just begging to have a "proud of mah boi" you tube poop made out of it. :D

  • Why did you have to use Clay Aiken's version? Alan Menken's version is so much better!

  • It's a shame this song didn't make it into the actuall film

  • This was fantastic! For real, perfection.

  • aladdin has a kind heart

  • This reminds me of Part of Your World. It makes sense to cut it given the changes to the plot but it's actually one of the pretty good "cut songs".

  • This song brings a tear to my eye everytime i hear it...it explains the way i acted when i was younger...its touching like no other

  • You did this rendition?

  • @NEWdumbich123455432 This rendition was by lay Clay Aiken

  • I love this so much.... this is exactly I needed to hear. "So I'm slow for my age, a late bloomer, okay I agree!" I was wondering who is singing this version?

  • Sounds rather similar to "Part of Your World" from The Little Mermaid.

  • Just heard this song in the new Aladdin adaption musical at the 5th Avenue theatre in Seattle. I fell in love with it. Thank You for uploading this!!! :)

  • 3 women aren't proud of their boys.

  • why did they delete it it is not fair

  • @btrjonasfan101 because in the original story aladdin has a mother but when the disney team rescripted the story they got rid of the mother, and so the song did not make sense

  • I always wondered about this song. I was like this song was not in the movie. But most people wouldnt know that this was a deleted song

  • Oh Howard Ashman...T.T RIP this is a beautiful song...

  • I can see why the director tried so hard to save this song...

  • I was about to make one but I'm thinking it twice ;) Loved how you did the lip sync, it looked pretty real, and the bread's scene was so touchy :')

  • @StephiGereRothThyne Thank you! Latest reply ever, but I often forget to reply to my youtube comments. I read them all though :-). I just love this song. So touching :-)

  • HE IS SO HOT! Oh and this song is amazing.

  • I don't know the song. Is it from the movie?

  • @MusicalCitty It was supposed to be but they cut the part this song was supposed to be in :(

  • What a beautiful song! I'm not sure if it's better than A Whole New World but I prefer to all of the other songs in the film, and that is saying a lot. At least we still have the song.

  • Can't believed they deleted this song

    such a pretty song

  • it's a real shame they had to cut this song out :(

  • is this Clay Aiken?

  • @broanna4ever Yeah this is Clay Aiken

  • ARGH! I definately prefer the Clay Aiken version

  • RIP Howard Ashman

  • Watching the documentary Waking Sleeping Beauty. In one of the deleted scenes, they say that people believe that Howard Ashman wrote it as an autobiographical song to his mother. They cut the entire mother sub-plot (and consequently, this song) just before Howard died from AIDS.

  • I played Aladdin in this.

  • @VideoGamesKid Riiiiiiiight. Moron.

  • @HappySealProductions I fucking did

  • @VideoGamesKid trololoolo

  • they actually used the song in the end in the movie Treasure Planet x

  • @2pumplane omg they did O_O lol i never knew that until now

  • they actually used the song in the end in the movie Treasure Planet x

  • why did they have to cut this song out of aladdin if it was going to be in it? this song has meaning it wants to make me cry

  • this song made me cry

  • Hot damn, this sounds fantastic!

  • don't be surprised that it wasn't in the movie it's because the storyline changed and yes it is a great song ^_^ i love it too

  • I personally think they should have kept both Aladdin's mother and this song in the film. But on the other hand, Aladdin being without parents are making the movie what it is.. :I I don't know what to think! D:

  • Clay did a great job with this song.

  • No words can describe this song... love might be a close one

  • LOVE this song. its so emotional. i wish they could have somehow kept it in. Its great when Alan Menken sings it too.

  • Where was this suppose to fit in the movie??

  • @BaldCupcake they deleted it when they cut the character of Aladdin's mother.

  • This is really good, must have been hard work to search for clips that fit and put them together, in some scenes it almost looks as if they were made for that song. Great job!

  • Aww this song makes me cry :)

  • *cries* ;A; This is like one of my favorite songs EVER! <3!! :)

  • can you please create an MP3 for this song?

  • Google search 'convert youtube to mp3' and you're there ;-)

  • Oh my gawd, this is beautiful. I'm so glad this song exists- Street Rat was sooo short!!! THANKS FOR UPLOADING!

  • Awesome blend of the song for all the clips!

  • Who's singing this?

  • Clay Aiken

  • Its a good song, but as the Aladdin film turned out it had no place in it.

  • Wow, I love this guys voice... it's friggin' awesome!

  • Proud of your boy would have come in when he was in the dungeon saying all after saying all stuff before abu calls him.

    xP

  • This is sweet song!

  • Does anyone know when this would have come in the story line?

  • It's right before Jafar (in his old creepy man disguise) tells Aladdin about the lamp and has him go to the Cave of Wonders. Aladdin is sitting next to his sleeping mother while singing this song. You can see the old storyboard on the 2 Disc DVD behind the scenes footage. It's really cute. :)

  • well, i don't get it. is this really in the movie? it doesn't sound like brad kane (aladdin) singing it.

  • Oh, that's what you meant! Well, this song was supposed to be in the movie, but they decided to cut it when they cut Aladdins mother from the movie. (It didn't make a whole lot of sense anymore to keep it in when they did that). I absolutely love this song though and wish it had been in there somehow!

This version is sung by Clay Aiken and so it's no wonder it doesn't sound like Aladdin from the movie at all ;-)

  • They did that with Pocahontas too...cutting out a song.

  • I think they do that a lot actually. Loads of stuff doesn't make it into the final movie. Usually for the better. I really do like this song though. I'm glad it was still on the Aladdin dvd so people can still enjoy it. I think that this song and 'I'm odd' from Alice in Wonderland are my two favorite cut songs (Disney wise that is ;-) ).

  • @vanimelda4 wut song did they cut out of pocahontas??? im just curious

  • Apparantly they were going to use a song called 'dancing to the wedding drum'. It sounds a bit like 'steady as the beating drum' which they did use. You can find it somewhere on youtube too, I think. (Isn't youtube great ;-) )

  • @vanimelda4 They also cut out "If I Never Knew You," I think.

  • @92DreamMaster i thought it was If i never knew you?..maybe im wrong though :)

  • im confused

  • LOL! Okay, so what's confusing you?

  • this is awsomee!!

  • Wow this is great! Hey I was wondering where did you get the footage and what movie maker did you use?

  • Ah, I've been replying so late lately! I got the footage from my dvd. (a friend who actually knows computers helped me out) and I use windows movie maker.

  • LOL!! well, thanks! I'm extra, extra honored that you commented on my video now ^_^

  • This song is so fitting! I just can't get enough of it.....

When the re-release of the DVD came,I rented it.I usually don't dabble with the special features of a DVD,but I had to give this song a chance.

    I'm glad I did...and Clay's voice is incredible.

  • I love this song.

  • :) Proud of you Vanimelda! proud of you!!!:)

  • aaaaw, thank you so very much!

  • great! that was gorgeous. i put it in my favs a playlist and five strs. it was beautiful. and i remember this song, i sometimes wish that it had been in the movie, then again, they would have had to have the mother. unless he had a father. hehehe awkward.

  • Thank you! This song is probably one of the best Disney songs ever written, but yes Aladdin having a mother wouldn't really have worked so I understand that it got cut. (but then again: how gorgeous is this song! lol)

Thanks for the rate and fav. ^_^

  • Great job, as usual :) I've only heard the Demo version of this song. Who is singing?

  • thank you ^_^. First time I heard that song was the demoversion as well (on my Aladdin dvd) and I just thought: man, I wish that had been in the movie! lol. This version is sung by Clay Aiken.
