  • Mon, 24 Jan 2011: I grew up in Denver in the 70's and this was one of the greatest songs of my favorite decade, the seventies. When ever, I hear this song and songs by Al Green, Barry White, 3 Degrees, Bee Gees, Donna Summer, Peter Frampton, Stylistics, Chi Lites, Diana Ross and Marvin Gaye and Tony & Dawn, I wished that I was back in 70's. 70's music was great, no cursing, no degrading women. nkd

  • Eugene Record sang this song in 1972. He died 2 years ago.

  • who are the group members now??

  • Marshall Thompson (original), Robert Lester(original) and Frank Reed

  • Top class group, fantastic song, video from 1970s soul jam which is also wonderful.

  • Top class group, fantastic song, video from 1970s soul jam dvd which is also wonderful.

  • im sorry, im just not digging this

  • I doubt if he recorded the song. He is a bust and should not be performing such a lovely original. His movements are wooden and his performance half-hearted. He's just trying to get through the number and live off its legacy.

  • Eugene Record sang the song originally, he took over when Record left

  • Eugene Recor died a couple years ago of cancer. He sang with the group up to his death.

  • No he didn't, this is before he died, 2000 or 01 I think. He mnaged them, but he retired somewhere around 90 to switch to religious music, which was his concentration until he died. He did appear with them on PBS (look for yellow suits) to help in PBS' cause around a year before he died. His technical replacement, and lead on every song besides this one, was either Anthony Watson (here) or Frank Reed; the two alternated back & forth over the years.

  • Everything else u said was true except Eugene Record passed away July 2005 he had cancer in his spine. And he did not manage the group Marshall Thompson manages the group. Right now Frank Reed is singing lead and Robert Lester who is an original member leads "Oh Girl". Eugene Record is irreplaceable. He is one of the best singer, songwriter, and producer of all time. R.I.P Eugene Booker Record!!!!!!!

  • Number one in EE.UU. in the year 1972.

    From Spain: Thank,my friend.
