They use light and sound to create an atmosphere, all the rest is just a way to make the concert look "fancy" and thats for those who don't really know how to make good music. People need to focus on their music and not on the performance so much, its getting all crappy music and amazing shows nowdays..pftt

have to disagree. Coldplay is a good band-but everything after "X and Y" is far from even being decent. I don't like a band that claims to have made the greatest record ever before ever hearing it. That's what they said about "Viva La Vida"-Pet Shop Boys-"Behaviour" and The Smiths "The Queen is Dead" are a million miles better than Coldplay. I mean get a grip please!

There's a guy playing a Moog Voyager (on the right at 4:21), but this can't be the chords as... the Voyager is a monophonic synthesiser (it can only play one note at any one time, not a three-fingered chord).

Sounds like backing, or someone off-stage using another keyboard. I can pick out two or three synth sounds being played at the same time. They're layered.

The synthesiser itself is monophonic only, not polyphonic. It might be able to send out polyphonic MIDI to other sound modules, but I imagine the Voyager's sound would be more difficult to control in this context (which single note of the polyphonic chord would it play, etc).
