free navigation walk and drive is only available for ovi maps VERSION: 3.03! I have a Nokia 5730 Xpress Music (Symbian S60 3rd generation), ovi maps 3.01 and its only possible for walking navigation! My older brother has a Nokia C6-00 with ovi maps 3.03 (Symbian S60 5th generation) and he can walk and drive for free!!! We both use Nokia LD-3W BT GPS which shows you within 5 sec your location!!! go to maps.nokia.com and download nokia maps loader to see the version for your phone! sry bad english

Its a realy great navigation software,maybe the best. Unfortunately, even the best nokia batterys will work for max 6-7 hours when navigating.

Hello, i just downloaded qik from the ovi store yesterday, but i just realised that i cant make use of my phone camera, so now ive been trying to delete or get rid of the qik from my phone but ive been unable to do that. Could you lease direct me on how to get delete or get rid of qik from my phone?

Ovi maps on X6 is a bag of shit! It doesn't work properly. I press "drive" and enter the destination, and the navigation map just shows the destination! How is that helpful? It should show my position and as I move direct me. Instead it is just a static fucking screen showing me the road I want to get to, but gives me fuck all directions! Piece of shit X6!

@dodoegg1 you have to wait for the gps to lock in. Can be quick but can also take 5 minutes. Make sure you are in the open.

Nokia really does well on making GPS-enabled devices. I still prefer my Nokia phone as a GPS than a standard GPS system.

Ovi maps works perfect, and it's 1000 times better than any other free gps program on cell phones, and one of the best things is the fact that internet isn't required.

@raaqibadnan I m sorry for replying late. 5235 is the best in its class. GPS is great after I updated to the latest ovi maps. Voice navigation is working fine now. Gr8 applications are available but you need to eaither sigh them or format your mob with custom OS. You can go for 5235 over 5230 coz of its Unlimited Music Subscription and 3G connectivity.

I've still not been able to get an answer on this. If I wanted to type into the new nokia maps something like a house number and postcode, so 12, ST12 8XU or something like that. Can you now do this? I installed it before, but I actually went back to a version you can do it on, simply because unless you can do this, getting to houses is very difficult.

@skezza U can do postcode but it has a little trouble finding house numbers, but obviously it will take u to the right road, and then you can just find the number yourself.

You can download all maps before you go, but it is good to have internet access for use of aGPS, because this way, the position is fixed much faster.

@alibrizi i guess you found out by now, but here goes: the maps gan be freely downloaded on your phone to use them offline, with no connection. however, having a conection through aFPS (wich is through the network, using a data plan) helps the app to update your position on the map in real time. this is helpfull in zones that you don't know at all.

@alooper21 how do you navigate with no connection? When I ask to go to some place, the route is shown but after a few seconds it says online connection to the shop is required... I do not have connection here! So it is not offline really... or it is not free!

@brindis15 when they sai "free" they mean the app comes for free, not like with other gps devices, where you have to buy the maps. ovi maps needs to seek gps sattelites in order to constantly update your position, and this is done by sending and receivind data through the operator network. note that for this data transfers you pay the operator, not nokia, hence nokia says that navigation comes free from their part. wich is as true as it can be.

@alooper21 That's aGPS what you are talking about. But Nokia gives you also the satelite gps with voice navigation. It works the same way as garmin and it's free. The other manufacturers use google maps. They don't have voice navigation. Nokia owns navteq.

I have this on my nokia 5800, it works great. I deleted the pre-loaded maps and downloaded the updated ones only for the countries I needed. The map-loader software works great for this. the only issue at first was the search feature, its doesn't work like other satnav systems where you choose country, then choose city, then type address. Instead it uses a one line search box where you need to type the complete address, including country otherwise it has trouble finding locations.

I don't think that's the case.

Last year, Nokia launched Nokia 6210s in Korea. After that, they launched Nokia 5800. And many Koreans talked about why Nokia didn't support Nokia maps.

I couldn't say it was big hit in Korea. But Nokia was selling quite well quitely.

And one more point is that Nokia 6210s is 6210 navigator so I think that Nokia intended to do map business in Korea, too.
