Now the Frankie Boyle joke does exemplify irony. Stewart tells a joke, then berates his own joke by saying it's the kind of joke Boyle would tell, when in fact it was his own joke. That's ironic.
"Paddy McGuiness is coming... to the corn exchange.... in the market town... in the countryside... at Christmas... with his joke" - more terrible words were never spoken
Twenty five must be new middle age cos I'd never watch anything else if I could help it. His description of rural life pretty much describes where I live in Ireland.
I was subjecting myself to the roadshow one time and there was a comic on whose style reminded me so much of Russell Howard. I wasn't surprised when I found out his name was Russell Kane, I just thought; 'Ah that's one of those young Russell comics they have now'.
It's great to see stew back on our TV screens. I'm enjoying the new series so far. It's a refreshing change from all those russel comics they have now.
And comic named "Brand"... i always hated that "tell a joke, then say 'uhm'" after it style of Jo Brand.
I also hate Russell Howard's "tell a joke, then do impression of that joke" stand-up routine ("ha rabbits, [stupid spastic voive] boingy boingy bum bum") and Russel Brand's "say something like 'intellectual' with but make it sound juvenile, like 'intellechual'" style.

Dara O'Briain also had a nice bit about internet-porn causing people not to have kids anymore. Done quite differently, but both are great.
