  • Ah classic Zepher. I remember watching this video all the time back in 2004. I miss that car. It always had a different set of wheels or hood or wing or ground effects every week.

  • Damn. What has that cam done for you as far as fuel mileage? If it's not all that detrimental, then I know exactly what I want to look into for my Camaro. That thing sounds mean as hell.

  • did those rims go on without doing anything id like to get a set.

  • @1987TransAmws6 those are 4th gen rims from a ws6 trans am. i know for a fact you have to have spacers on the front and rear. if you have a 4th gen rear on your third gen then you dont have to have spacers

  • I wish I did that when I had my old 305, I also had an 86. I was having problems with the motor shutting down while driving and got discouraged. I sold it, and got a 97 Firebird that had the 3800 series II in it. The 3800 was nice on the low end, but it seemed to lag when punching it on the freeway. In other words, the response was absent on the high end. I miss my V-8 cars...

  • i hate to ask somethin i'm sure you've answered a hundred times already but how much horsepower does it put out and what brand exhaust are you running? it sounds sweet.

  • you dont happen to have to part # for the cam do you?

  • Im naab with cars but i got a 86 trans am in great shape with a 305.what kind of motor did you put in yours because i cant back my tire unless i rev it up and throw it into gear lol.i have flowmaster exaust with no catalitic converter so it sounds good.would headers make it sound any better and would the exaust have to be redone?

  • very nice, r those 91-92 camaro ground effects? now u just need that new spoiler from the 4gen trans am and that would be one sick looking car, check it out on hawksthirdgen i wanted on for mine but i just bought a whole new car haha

  • dude, that shit is sickkk

  • Good start although I would have to agree that this car's timing needs some work. The black smoke is a give away.

  • It needs timing AND fueling adjustments.

  • dude the engine needs a tune badly it's way out of time

  • i like when cars dont look nice and dont have paint job just fast thats wat i like

  • @RrMurph18 i know, just like my dads 502 velle, he keeps wanting to get it painted but itll cost and for the money i could build me a nice 3rd gen, but i like how good they look without the perfect pain i mean you see so many show cars it gets old almost

  • Yeah, thats what I wanna do with my T/A...give a nice 350 or 383 stroker with a TPI...but yeah, all he needs is a paint job and he's set...

  • Comment removed

  • just put some color on it and it will be made(red)

  • beasty but fuckin ugly

  • Did those Trans am wheels bolt directly on or did you need spacers?

  • BEASTIE AS FUCK.... i got a 86 5 speed T Tops... i wanna do a tpi swap also but my navy signing bonus is gonna be like 8 grand so i mite LS1 my shit where abouts do u stay at? and did u end up doing the paint job?

  • one word for you, badass.

  • just realized it's a standard. oops.

  • cam's jut a tad bit too big for that stall

  • i broke my rear axle on my 70 cutlass with a tpi

    engine twice

  • Your car sounds great......

  • dude ur bird sounds hella clean n beasty i got a 86 with a 305 and im thinking of doing the tpi swap too how much does it cost roughly?

  • TPI swap can cost as little as $500 to as much as $1500, depending on where you get the parts and how much you can do, without having a shop do it.

Personally, I would swap to EFI and use a Holley Stealthram, like I have on my 88 Formula.

  • do you have to buy the full stealthram (2500-3500)?? or can you buy the 300-500 stealthram and use parts already on to set it up until it cna be later upgraded.

  • Did you put on 91/92 Z28 rocker panels? They look great! I plan on putting a 91/92 Z28 spoiler on my 86 TA.

  • 305 tpi swap or a 350 tpi swap? and how did you modify the exhaust? btw sounds sick

  • Engine was a carbed 305 and I slapped some 87 305tpi heads on it along with the TPI setup, a large crane cam, and pacesetter catback.

  • what part number on that cam did u use i got a 350 tpi and im lookin to get a cam but not sure wich to get

  • oh yeah..dont get it above 500 hp. youll break the rear axle eventually..so beware. i love GM, but the camaro/firebirds rear axles are garbage.

  • CAMS!!!

  • this is the same Trans Am in the F-Body videos on youtube??????

  • did u bolt those rims write to the car or did u use spacers

  • Those are 4th gen WS6 wheels, and they require spacers (or a 4th gen axle in the rear)

  • I remember this vid from tgo a little while back. And it was my favorite by far. The hit at 1:10-11 makes it all worthwhile. You still have her?

  • HOW MUCH DO YOU WANT IT FOR!?!

  • Wat did you do to the engine to make it sound like that? Is it an atomatic or manual trans?

  • I put a big cam into the motor, and put some headers and full exhaust. Car is a 5 speed in the video.

  • It must be too rich.

  • what are the specs on the cam? or the part number?

Im guessing its not a factory roller block??

    sounds bad ass

also are those 16's or 17's?

  • I don't recall all the specs on the cam, .454 .484 lift. It is a Crane Cams Powermax 2050. Engine is an 86 non-roller LG4 305, 165hp stock. Wheels are 17x9 WS6 wheels from a 97 WS6 Trans Am.

  • sweet sounds killer man

  • what cam is that cause i tried to look up crane cams powermax 2050 and it says its for lt1's. i love that sound it makes what r specs? can u double check what its called and tell me where to get one?

    thanks

    91camarochris

  • sounds good, but seems to hunt for idle, my 383 with a 270 cam doesn't like the stock tune too well either, they are some torque monsters though!

  • I'm not much for this gen. but this one is pretty dam sweet sounds nice!

  • Sweetness. Where in Va. do you live?? I'm in Vienna in near DC

  • where did u buy that cam?

  • Really like those "Aero" ground effects you used from the 91-92 Camaro's. Looks very stealthy....

  • nice job dude but you might want to do some exhaust/header work cuz it doesn't sound all to smooth

  • Nice. V8 Thunder, Can't get enough of it.

  • What cam do you have?

  • stock 87 TPI heads and a Crane Cams PowerMax 2050 cam.

  • That's fucking sweet

  • Love the car man.

    Nice VID
