  • glad to see you like our torches. it really is a great profession to get into. Nice Mirage by the way, we just made one that was painted mid-night blue, absolutely beautiful torch

  • @thadthrasher

not quite sure what you mean by like "our torches" but if you work for the willy and wally fam crew then, yeah fo sho. I've been rocking GTT's for ten years! GTT's are like a Rolls, Lamborghini, and Ferrari all rolled up into 1 bad boy, killa torch.

  • What GTT torch is that and how much did that setup run you ?

  • @Moze9 The torch is a Mirage. My set up cost a few thousand. Anyone starting out, could do it between about $500. to $5000.00

The type of glass you want to make is really what will dictate how much your start up costs are going to be.

  • nice paper wight thingy!

  • Thanks . You called it, thats exactly what it is.

  • @travism420 Is it easy to learn ? I'm looking to us make pipes, wine glasses, bottles and other abstract sculptures

  • @Moze9 sure, you just have to get past any dout. a good teacher also helps. i havent payed for any classes(yet) learned every thing i know from friends who are just a few steps ahead of me. im making pipes marbles and pretty much anything that fits in my little bowl of vermiculite. might try n post a video of my work if i get the chance.

  • @travism420 Is it bring in any type of income or are you just creating stuff for now ?

  • @Moze9 well,, im not into selling my pieces, bartering on the other hand. traded this little pipe i made the the other day to this guy who had all these pipes disguised as hemp bracelets. that kinda shit makes me so much happier than money ever will. it was a dope little invention ya kno, had a little tube running though it and a nice wood bead mouth piece. and now me and him have now made a significant human connection thats not just connected to trading paper you know...shit im rambling..lol!

  • thanks for the vid man. i like this method better than using disk nippers then attacking with tweezers

  • have you tried this method yet?

  • not yet waiting for oxy

  • After you do it this way, if you have any questions fell free to ask. It is def. a lot easier than messing with individual milli chips.

  • yeah looks like a much faster cleaner way of breaking them off

  • great vid!!

  • great vid bud, love the tunes!

  • I would just attach those pieces to a 5 or 6 rod punty. that way you wont have to cut them into smaller sections. Remember to heat the ends up slowly because it is possible for a high heat flame to cause them to check or pop. A lot like some of your color rods. Just take care when heating them up. All that cane has gone through an annealing cycle, but it always helps to take precautions.

  • sweet dude! now im gonna go try and put those pieces you gave me to work.. i think im gonna cut them into small pieces and punty up to the small pieces to attach to the pendant..should work that way right? im assuming its a paper weight i didnt see you put a hoop on it.. be cool to hook that bad boy to a glass chain link necklace..be rockin it like flava flaves clock necklaces lol... good work dude! i need to order some molds to attempt some of these canes..

  • thanks alot bzglass, GREAT video, great editing and cool music too. So i guess the first rod that you apply and then allow to cool/break is the milli/picture rod? then fire polish and encase with clear? I'm a new lampworker, thanks for your input & videos much appreciated!

  • Yup you pretty much got it down. However I personally dont fire polish before clear encasing, because the heat tends to distort the image. Especially if the image is really detailed. What you see me doing in this vid is reheating the paperweight before I attempt to add the clear.

Thanks for the comments on the video, glad I can do something for the glass community.
