  • @Featherinmycap in what shop did u get that gun ?

  • tyvm for the video

  • turn the lights on next time.

  • theres conversion kits to change it from black powder to normal cartridges?

  • @RE1206 It is highly discouraged to carry at half cock. It can still discharge accidentally at half cock.

  • This is the 1873 single action conversion not the 1851 precussion cap!

  • Where could I find a cartridge converted 1851 for sale? Pietta offers cap'n ball models and Uberti's 1851 is engraved, which I dislike...

  • everybody and their mother has this pistol

  • funny...1851 navy is a cap and ball revolver. It would help to mention it is a conversion replica.

  • Nice video... of the hands. Would be NICE to be able to actually see the GUN and where the procedure takes place. :-(

  • I also thought the 1851 Colt was a cap and ball pistol and was hard to load..and unload. The movie most popular movie version of the Single Action Colt was the model of about 1873..about the time of the great Winchester lever action.

  • I have an original 1851 in .44 Army its not horrible to load though its tough to unload

  • well who the hell dont know how to load a cartridge pistol. lol

  • @easycompany34 This is meant to be an instruction video for those who load 6 rounds and ride the hammer down to the loaded chamber. This is one of those things that many people aren't aware of. Many people also don't know that dryfiring or spinning the barrel is bad. Can't tell you how many times I've seen people do this with range rentals.

  • ANYONE UP? I NEED SOMEONE TO TALK TO

    looking for friends JF

  • no offense but its not really difficult to load a cartridge conversion, the colt 1851 navy single action was a cap and ball revolver, which is a bit more complicated to load

  • Yeah was about to post about it being a cap n ball

only person that used a conversion was calamity jane

  • exactly, many cap and ball revolvers were updated:-) thanks to conversion cylinders you could use cartridges in the old guns and you had not to buy a new cartridge gun.

  • Awesome vid. I'm interested now. And what if you wanted to fill all 6 chambers and keep it unloaded?

  • these guns were made back in the day when people knew that the best gun saftey is the one between your ears. it is possible to load the gun with 6 cartidges at a time, but would present an unsafe condition as there is no saftey. carrying the hammer down on a loaded chamber can put a big hunk of lead into your leg. if your just getting started get a steel frame pietta 51 navy .36 from cabelas. about $200. with a C&B you can carry 6 chambers loaded safley.

  • if you want conversion like in the video, you can later buy a conversion kit from kirst konverter to easily convert the gun to .38 long colt.

ite best to start with the percussion and work your way up. start simple and safe to learn and then convert it. because buying and loading for a conversion can be expensive and a pain in the ass. basically put mdern .38 bullets are to small for the barrel and accuracy is pitiful unless you use hollow or heel based bullet which are hard to find.

  • I thought cartridge revolvers were invented in 1873, which is used in almost all cowboy shooting events. I have an 1851 44.cal ball and cap reproduction made in 1965, still works great!

  • I am confused - I thought the 1851 colt was a black powder revolver. Cartridge rounds did not come into use until later in the 1800s.

  • they came out with a .22 short in 1857 S&W made a revolver for it then a .32 rimfire S&W had the rights to the through cylinder ( load from rear) lots of colts were converted some like the .36 were converted to a 38 S&W or a .38 long colt the .44 were often .44 Henry flat so it would be same bullet for rifle and pistol ...Keij he did carry cap and ball but the ones he had in # 10 had been converted Pat Garret owned one when he shot Billy the Kid and they had spelled Hickok wrong on the frame

  • And Revolver Ocelot DID use Colt SAA's ;)

  • Hickok preferred two .36 cal colt navy ball & cap revolvers. This one here is a cartridge conversion, which as far as I know, Hickok didn't use.

  • Niiiiice.....

  • omg i have a huge boner now.

  • He said "cock" <_<

  • omg fucking awesome - General_Kenobi2 of RI
