I'm a huge Stone Roses fan and I did like some of the fratellis stuff too.. I like this, the whole codeine velvet club things is a 50's and 60's type feel, and they add it here. The reverb drenched guitars are very cool. It just depends whether you like that Hank Marvin Shadows sound. Personally I do. They could never top the roses version so why try to do it that way?

I am a huge Stone Roses fan, I Am The Resurrection is my favourite song of all time and I really like this version. Yes the original is better and is immortal but that doesn't mean that it can't be re-interpreted or sound good played a different way. To all the other Roses fans who are slagging it off you should be proud that the Roses were so much of an influence on other musicians that they love the band as much as we do and are paying tribute to the Roses by covering their work.

Squire did more damage to Roses classics on his solo tour than this!! (search for Fools Gold)... I like this, its not a straight copy, they've tried to do something else with it, which is refreshing. If they were trying to do a carbon copy it would be pointless. Good job.
