I saw a video of Little Miss Gamer and the Wii Fit and it looked like a fun way to exercise. I used to play video games and throw in an unhealthy diet and lack of exercise and I was tanking around the 300 pound at the beginning of this decade. I have since been taking action to become healthier and now I weight around 220. Granted, it's still considered obese for a man of my height according to the BMI, but I feel much better now than I used to.
As for Britain, where I am, I think we're at no 3 or 4 for obesity so we're not too far away. I bet in about 20 years, the whole world will be obese. And our fat bellies will cause the planet to go hurling into the sun.
I think I'll be the 3% of people who still exercise in the world. What about you?
yeah but the main point of my rant was that people can have fun working out playing video games, a lot of gamers don't like going outside, but your right going to the gym or going outside can def help you get in better shape, but some people just do not like those kind of activities I am not implying everyone play video games to get in shape, this was mainly just a rant against one of my teachers who said video game cannot promote fitness and health at all.
I know and I do agree with your point against the teacher, but still...the outside world is far more interesting than Wii fit.XD or hell, get an exercise bike and you can watch your favorite show while you lose the weight.:P
A good majority of nerds and gamers are out of shape and are afraid of going out in public because of there appearance, and an exercise bike and other stuff might bore then to death, and what if they don't like TV or any shows on it, anyway u look at it there is always some type of flaw with certain people, if it were as easy as u said everyone would be doing it, I just am try to motivate gamers and nerds like myself that there are other fun ways to get in shape.
And also not everyone finds the outside world more interesting, I however have no interest in the outside that much I prefer being indoors more then outdoors, I however go to a gym and exercise there, and I do watch TV, but I am just trying to speak for others that like the indoors life more.
I understand that people may be shy or not enjoy the outside world. And that's okay, but the day that playing your average game becomes a workout program in some way...well, that's a sad day.XD
That isn't sad at all if the game offers physical activity then I don't see what the problem is with it, but if it is button mashing then you will get nothing out of it, some people have told me that wii sports and wii fit have helped them get in shape, that is why the wii has potential it may really help in the future with childhood obesity and so forth since kids seem to like to play more indoors these days, because quite a bit of people like to play video games.
Cool. I hope there will be a way to play a fighting a game with your arms and legs. Sounds cool.
I heard about this one project some collage student or some guy dose/did. It's like this obstical course were you can move and jump like Mario or somthing...I don't know but it sounds cool.
really, sounds sweet I love obstacle courses, if you find out anything more about this keep me psoted. Ya as I said in this vid an arm and leg game might be among us soon , the wii uses arms movements, and a DDR Pad uses leg movements, so if you combine the two it can offer many benefits cardio, muscle toning, and even help you become a better dancer even :P .
dammit another thing I should of mentioned is that maybe someday they may even have like aerobic machines where u can play multiplayer with other people doing aerobics at the same time, like 4 friends go do the stationery mike and play like 4 player mario kart or something i could just imagine that :P.
Yea, that would be cool. and for some game thats like DDR but with a Wii-moat, the controller would be streapped onto this thing that sorta looks like the Power Glove or somthing

Yo. According to several news reports, I've been reading recently America is no longer the fattest nation in the world. It's Australia.
What's Australia's reason for being so fat?
StephenP18 3 years ago
Australia???? holy crap, I assumed that one was one of the healthier countries.
Jerichosquink 3 years ago
The percentage of obese people is 25%.:P By the way, there is one thing that you can do that trumps any activity on the Wii or DDR...go outside.XD
