  • the "moving monkey" is very possibly one of the camera crew who realized the monkey was falling off the shelf, so pushed it back up xD lol

  • I think the Donny the dog was responding to the ghost spirit of a child that enjoyed playing with him. See evidence of the ghost at the :42 mark. Look behind the blue stuffed animal and see the ghost move the monkey.

  • @sandralidskin HOLY SIMOLEANS! The monkey didnt "move" it actually sat up!

  • I saw the monkey!

  • Dr Smuts??

He was probably trained by the previous owner.

This doesn't seem that 'amazing' to me. . . Interesting though. . .

  • @OGstonerD It's definitely not trained... I know several dogs who do this. Most of them are herding breeds, which makes a little more sense but I do know one beagle mix who does this... quite strange.

  • He reminds me of my Blaine Blainard. Not so amazing, but would do anything for a Bubbie Snap.

  • Since you don't know his history - it may also just be training.. but it's very cool nonetheless!

  • u so soft

  • SHAYTARDS!

  • Do they realize the triangle that they are so amazed about occurs EVERY TIME 3 stuffed animals are in proximity? He can toss them anywhere and they will be a triangle, unless by chance they happen to be in a line then *gasp* they are in a straight line! And of course they only take special note of the instances there happens to be a theme, (all up, down, all a certain type) and I'm sure disregard when there isn't a theme at all. This is like people who believe horoscopes are a personal message.

  • wow I want to believe it...I don't know why he does it but animals are smarter than we give them credit for sometimes...I think it is very cool

  • He is signaling to ALIENS!!!!! get that traitor!!!

  • I tend to believe this or maybe I just want to. I believe this dog to have been broken-hearted by losing its first owner. I think this behavior was his way of communicating this as well as trying to make sense of it. I do not believe the previous owner abandoned Donnie; I believe it was a special loving relationship between him/her and the doberman. Either he/she died or had to give him up for some reason and this became unbearable for this dog. I am sorry for Donnie and the new owner.

  • This is for real people. I used to dog-sit for Donnie and have seen it with my own eyes!

  • Foxy Strikes Again. We bought her a bunch of little stuffed puppies. This morning she had a line of shoes 2x2 from the bedroom to the livingroom. In the livingroom she had the stuffed puppies in a circle with her brush in the middle. The one puppy she does not like she always makes sure it's far away from the others. I'm going to get my Mom a video camera.

  • My Mom just adopted a puppy that came from a kill shelter in new mexico. about 13 weeks old and just a mutt. She looks like a fox so they named her Foxy. Foxy started collecting and arranging shoes in the house after a few days. First in straight lines and today in 1/2 circle. Making of the next genius?

  • EVERYONE, THE MOVING MONKEY IS BEING MOVED BY THE SCREEN ON THE PORCH WHICH IS BEING MOVED BY SOME WIND!!!

  • @yoljarvi ditto on dobermans, thats terrible news that Poor Donnie passed away, haha maybe he gets to make artistic arrangements out of clouds up on Heaven now!!

  • Animals are amazing creatures...and dogs just plain RULE!!!!

  • There must have been a crew member watching it (the stuffed monkey) almost fall and then put it back in place.

  • this dog lives near my father! i hope we can visit one day!

  • Wow, the stuffed monkey sat up straighter.

  • Can he come over to my house and teach my cats to stay off my kitchen counter tops???

  • Hi Carol,

This true story is amazing. I would like to know more about Donny's message. I am an intuitive reader. I specialize in health as a medical intuitive, but i also do readings for animals. Please let me know if you would like to do a reading. I do them on the phone. Please contact me at 808-268-8501 or Robin Eagle Sage dot com. Or watch my videos. Thanks, Robin Sage

  • My friend showed me this, and I have a Dobie as well. I have no problem believing this at all, lol. Our boy, Diesel, is brilliant. So is our Pittie, Mafia. One of the latest tricks is hiding any sort of mess with clothing. They've also learned to open gates, doors, and crates as well. They're very good at problem solving and very quick at obedience and learning commands. :)

  • Cool story!

  • BS she made the arrangements

  • WOW WOOF WOW!

  • You don't think the dog has autism? (the one thing that poped into my mind).

  • Because animation was up-loaded, we wish to express our gratitude.

It survives because it was a very interesting content.

I think this dog's talent to have been discovered because it is this owner

    and this Doberman.

No do be known of possibly this dog excellent as the watchdog etc.

After that, because the translation software is used, sentences might be amusing. (Japanese)

  • @ooooo11111111

    Dobermans are "thinking' dogs.

Where a shepherd or most other breeds would blindly charge, a dobe will assess a situation before proceeding.

They are sometimes are smarter than their 'owners'

hope you can translate this back into japanese :)

  • OHMYGOD YALL! DaVinci has been reincarnated as a doberman!

If you'll notice, both names start with a D. And so does Doberman! Very DaVinci code y/y?

  • I love doberman they get a bad rep, nicest dog breed I've ever met

  • Someone should inform this lady that any 3 points make a triangle (provided they're not on the same line).

Also, they go "or, all face down" and then a group of 3 stuffed animals, two of which are face up.

  • Thanks for the upload,

I was looking at an article of donny and wondered if I could find a video.

    what a smart dog!

  • I saw this video originally when it was part of a NatGeo special on PBS. I too have a Doberman that we got from a breeder when he was 1 yr. He was really a rescue as the breeder stated his original owner had died. My dobie also didn't understand stairs and has developed some other quirky behavior. He sucks on fleece items to calm himself, rather like a baby with a blankie. I have a new fleece throw that he loves and takes it off my lap and drags off to suck on it. Fascinating!

  • We have a Doberman with a pack of toys, too. One time, we put a mechanical cow that mooed on the ground to see what he would do. He ran, found his cow toy, and put it right next to the other one.

These dogs have very developed brains and enjoy figuring things out. Plus they're sooo cuuute!!!

  • He exhibits signs of autism. I wouldn't be surprised if he were autistic.

  • Check out Temple Grandin.

It turns out that all animals have some things in common with people with autism.

  • Why the negative rating? It's actually very possible that he could have a form of autism or OCD. Dogs share many of our diseases.

  • Whether its autism or not the point is its a dog doing these complicated and planned out geometric designs which for a dog that really is ridiculous

  • The point is acknowledging the dog is remarkable? No, the point is understanding what makes the dog remarkable.

Either learn something or just stare with a dumb look on your face.

  • Its never as simple as oh he has autism Oh that explains it, this isnt the only dog to have a form of autism if he even does, he's one of the only if not THE only to exhibit these traits, its a youtube video the entire point of the video IS to acknowledge this dog is remarkable, unless you go to this dogs house do a personal case study your not going to learn shit from just watching it

  • I don't understand what you are trying to say in your response. I'm also wondering if you meant to reply to another commenter.

  • crazy

  • amazing dog! =)

  • Donny has made me so happy I just love things that help people love animals more, cause they are a hoot.

  • I love all animals I hope everyone enjoyed this as much as I did, for me it is easy the dog is talking to us the best way he can.Smile just do it , life is a hoot if you got a dog or cat in it!

  • Comment removed

  • I hope you don't go on a killing spree, perosycatos

  • why are my thoughts not on this page

  • I keep trying to talk to ya'll I guess I go get my owner, cause she loves this story about donny

  • Well, now we know where crop circles come from.

  • this truly creeps me out.

  • did anyone else notice the toy monkey moving forward?

  • I saw that toy monkey move, too!! That was freaky to me....a lot more than an OCD dog!!

My dog (rescue dog) also aligns her toys but not as intricately as this dog does.

    Very cool video!

  • Ok, after reading the comments about the monkey, I had to go back and see it for myself.

After the initial scare, I watched it several times. At 1:25 there's a close up of a pink monkey that's seating on the same windowsil and you can see a fine netting behind it.

So my guess is that someone touched the netting or the wind made it move, making it look like the monkey was moving by itself.

    Mistery solved!

  • What a great embassador for the breed! So sad about the DCM(my last 2 dobes had it too) RIP Donnie,

  • Comment removed

  • Donnie´s owner has beautifu eyes!!

  • Why are those two stuffed animals in the background moving at 0:43? Donnie doesn´t arrange them, they arrange themselves LOL.

  • aiiieee!! They're alive!

  • is that ray suarez narrating? from the newshour?

  • Sorry to tell this, but Dr. Smut told me that Donnie died of a heart attack. She also mentioned that she received some emails telling her of other dogs doing similar routines...and one cat.

  • Most likely he died of dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM), a very very common heart disease in dobermans that claims them at any age. I myself own 5 dobermans and know people who have lost their dobies at age 2 to DCM. That dog was truly amazing @ @

  • Perhaps a past owner trained him to do this?

  • Hmmmm...a behaviorist would probably disagree that this was a trained behavior. What is the reward to the dog? An unreinforced behavior soon becomes extict, especially if no command is being given to do the bahvior. That would be like a dog all of a sudeen performing "sit's and "stays" with no command or reward on his own. Doesn't make sense. This dog is definitely thinking.

  • Look at it this way : 1) dogs tend to put their stuff together and it's likely 3 objects placed at random will form a triangle. 2) humans seek patterns all the time (faces and shapes in clouds, ink stains and what not). It's easy for us to see patterns when we WANT to see them. In addition, I am really not convinced the "patterns" that were chosen by the camera were selected at random either... Anyhow, we humans need to dream away, thinking we're not alone in this big cold Universe...

  • trudbol, how would you explain the parallel lines, all fairly equally spaced?

  • My doberman does something similar but simpler. She likes to arrange things in long lines. 5 - 7 pieces of kibble, for example, in a long line in a place far from her bowl. Also, once when I had the sheets off my bed she put a kibble in each quilted divot in the mattress.

  • im thinking the dog must be trying to tell her something, trying to communicate but being unable to speak like a human he has to be creative.

  • I am in LOVE with Donny!!!

  • Triangles? Haha! Try and draw three points at random on a piece of paper and guess what you get? Magic!

  • I've looked at the video the toy moving in the background is followed by a shadow that

moves across the frame...that is spooky ! or is it something coming from the dog ?

  • Hey looks pretty real, but lets see some of the video that Dr smuts took. Why isn't that posted?

  • Did you watch the video? Dr. Smut's footage was there already!

  • i once saw a demonstrasion of how dogs are smarter then monkeys!

a game of follow the cup with food under it,

both the monkey and the dog got it,

they got 2 cups put a screen up to hide them,

switched them, took the screen down,

and pointed to the one with the food,

only the dog got that one.

  • ah, that's nuthin'...my cat can make waffles.

  • animals are smart. we shouldnt forget we are animals as well

  • At about 38 sec. Did anyone see the stuffed monkey move in the background?

  • yeah ! i saw it.

  • Creepy.

  • Yes i saw that as well..i think it was paranormal !

  • @chrisi1629 yes, that monkey is ALIVE!!!

  • @chrisi1629 Yes, Chrisi! I also saw the monkey sitting on the porch railing move. I wouldn't have even noticed if you hadn't pointed it out. I wonder if it really moved or if it was a video glitch. Very interesting story and very bright dog!

  • @chrisi1629 Yea, the monkey on the railing certainly moves, and not just a little, and not in a downward motion like it could be on edge and finally falling. The only thing I can figure (beyond assuming a lead to a hoax) is that it's one of those animals that have a movement mechanism inside and suddenly it was activated.

  • @jabadoodle Itys called a breeze blowing on a piece of screen genius. . .

  • @o56kid. Maybe. Doesn't seem like that to me, but maybe. Pretty rude way for you to say it though.

  • Comment removed

  • @chrisi1629 me i was seeind the video then i saw something move then im all like im going crazy

  • @chrisi1629 holly crap. Thats crazy that you spotted that!

  • @chrisi1629 thats the wind lol it's a bug shield thing

  • @chrisi1629 omg i saw it thats creepy!

  • I can tell this dog is definitely responding to this woman, you can see the intelligence in his eyes as she talks about him.

  • This makes me think of the Koontz book "Watchers"... keep an eye out for the dogs evil twin...

  • Dogs aren't self-aware, eh?

Human chauvinism prevents us from seeing the truth.

These animals are self-aware, and are more brilliant than we give them credit for.

  • You're right. Making triangles is nothing short of sheer brilliance. All hail our new canine overlords!

  • bad day today?
