  • What was the speed rating of the CF card you used in this video? Do the 51 AF points help out a lot or can't you tell, I'm trying to choose between the sony A-77 and the nikon D3X, I know they don't fall in the same category, cash isn't a driving factor. I shoot low ISO always staying below 200, crop every once in a while, plan on making prints 24"x36" at least, I shoot landscape (macro mostly) and how much lag is there when you trigger the shutter on the D3X. I'd ask more but there's no room

  • Hello, I just bought a D3100 and had a couple of Q pls;

Does the does the AF Fisheye-Nikkor 16mm f/2.8D fit on the D3100 directly....

I also create panoramas, and always heard about a full frame fisheye lens, also heard about fullframe cameras, can someone guide me as to what is the difference here, and if/how are they used together? What Nikon camera offers the Full Frame Option? And what lens goes well with it, and can any combination really produce a 180 degree vertical coverage?

  • i´m not a professional but i never needed more than iso 100 outdoors (for everything else i have a SB900)...but on motorsportevents i shot with a pol-filter and with 1/125sek to get more dynamic (so the arperture isnt too small)

with a d3s it would be hard to get down

and 5fps are pretty nice, with 9fps you run very fast out of memory with that resolution ;)

and yes maybe it is slow, but pics r watched at home on a real monitor.

waiting for my d3x...8 weeks delivery :(

  • men that's a 100% studio camera!Thats why it only has 5fps and iso up t 1600!Even the Ηasselblad H4D-31 has 1600iso and it costs about 13000$!But u get 31megapixels!

  • well i dont think its that slow because its llike a medium format camera, you cant expect 9 or 10 frames and 12800 ISO, this is a PRO studio camera !! do u get it !!

  • I wouldn't call this camera slow. When you're shooting studio work you don't need a massive ISO range or 9 fps. I don't get how an amatuer can say a professional camera is too slow.

  • @Quiksilver4eyes it's all personal opinion. remember... he said slow for HIS needs. Let me say that again.. he prefaced the comment with slow for **his** needs. And it is, indeed, slow for his needs.

And you don't know his level of photography. You can produce great things with a D90.

  • Thanks so much for the review, Nate! Great job

  • The only reason to buy this over any other nikon is the resolution. From reading reviews, all other nikons match or even surpass its abilities.

I`d wait till nikon produces a successor to the d3x (and increases its max iso), which will be a long wait..............

  • you did a good job with that review. my thought on high megapixels for people who can't afford a nikon d3x is, that if you really need them, buy a 5d mark II (iso 25600 included). regards from germany

  • raws are around 150mbs!! :O))

  • Nice video overview!

Nikon is crazy, NO video mode, encrypted white balance and an $8,000 price tag is ridiculous.

  • ...Mate, nice review, but, for the future,/ try placing a cloth, foam, or popper stopper on the camera's mike to control all the "cliquy /ticks" natural of speech. Just a though. = )

  • Well get to it mate make one

I can't wait for new content from you you explain stuff really well!

Weres that video you promised of what's in your camera bag video??

  • I'm waiting until I get the 14-24 and sb-900, but trust me, I'm gonna do one.

  • Good too see you back Nate

Have you got your flickr yet!!!

  • Haha, not yet ;)

  • Great review

  • Just got the 70-200 vrII Today!!!

  • @shradical77 i got it 4 days ago !!! it's soo awsome
