In all respect to the fans of the Earthbound games, and the guys responsible making it such a beloved title there is something I can't get past. After seeing Ness "modernized" in Smash Brothers I can't help but want to see Ness get his ass-kicked on a regular basis. While there are many reasons for my irritation, the easiest reason to identify is that the guy USES A FUCKING YO-YO AS A WEAPON! Using the Yo-Yos' string as a garrote is really the only way to use it realistically.

What?! Ness has PK Thunder? He doesn't ever learn it in Earthbound, does he? This is something you don't see everyday.

He does have some really powerful moves in round two to offset that Paula had an edge for a while. Notice that Ness is slow, so Paula can get more hits on him. Even if it wasn't for that PK Thunder on either side, Paula would probably beat him unless if he can do more damage with one hit, and I mean A LOT more damage with one hit, to offset his lack of speed.

By the way, I hacked that extra boost on Paula, and took advantage of it to pull off a Paula vs Giygas solo no offensive PSI challenge. She just simply bashed down the monster and used defensive PSI. I also pulled off a Paula vs Giygas weaponless challenge, as well, because of this power.

Not necessarily because it's Paula who responds faster than Ness, even after his extra boost from Magicant and he would be more tempted to use Rockin omega because of that extra boost, but Paula has PSI Shield beta, which will deflect the mutant power back to the dealer, causing about 800 HP damage to the guy, then if she lands a SMAAAASH! on the next move, he gets beaten by a girl almost as fast as Frank.
