yeah im a 27 year old dude that just was involved in a conversation about afro-american hair vs. white hair and somehow i ended up on this video. i dont know anything about brazilian blowouts but you are insanely cute. thats all. i just think you are attractive and you should keep up the youtube stuff. im sure people can learn lots from you.
i have both curly and color treated hair lol I go for the "express" treatment tomorrow so we'll see how it goes-i'm really hopeful anyway I was just wondering if your hair color looked darker/faded after the treatment? That makes me nervous.

The Brazilian Blowout is banned in Canada due to unacceptable levels of formaldehyde.
According to most recent news :
"California's attorney general's office has filed a lawsuit against the popular Brazilan Blowout hair straightening solution claiming it contains high levels of formaldehyde -- a hazardous gas and known carcinogen banned by California's Safe Cosmetics Act."
@bozomahoney The people that tested the product said it was in a clear container.... Theres no way anyone can prove it was the real "Brazilian Blowout"... It's a great product I use it in my salon... I'm a big fan....
Go to Good Morning America's website and type in Brazilian Blowout. They just did a show on it the other day. Scientist did some testing on it and it has so much formaldehyde in it, that OSHA is stepping in. I think they said about 8-10 percent. Way over the limit and very dangerous. No wonder my eyes burned and I found it hard to breathe when I did it. Watch for a ban on this product in the near future
Ok I need help, my hair was frizzy and kinda curly but not too bad, after blow out it looked amazing, shuny and Asian straight. Nw I just washed it and its a bit frizzy and someof my curs are back. I thought it wa supposed to be smooth smooth, should I go back to my stylist or this is normsal? help
@latifi1 the brazilian blowout is to help make the hair mostly frizz-free and doesn't alter the shape of your hair so it won't make it totally straight. it just coats each strand making it more shinier, less frizzier and more manageable :-)
my mom is a hairstylist who does this and she has learned to not put in a ponytail for a couple of days after the braziallian blowout. also, the brazillian blow out it not a starightning treatment it is like a de frizz treatment but some poeple with barely wavy hair it will stay straight. i loved mine and i recommend everyone to get it done
Hi beautybytk- i wanted to ask you when exactly did you get your bb? I just got mine in June and I really like it. I did not however, buy the products because I use a sulfate free shampoo andlike it. How do you like the products you bought? I did notice alot of shine when I first had bb done- how after 5 wks it isn't as shiny but it still shines.
I had the BB and my hair is naturally curly. I got the BB because I wear my hair straight alot and wanted to cut down my dry time. After getting BB my hair is straight. If I air dry it is ends up straight. My blow dry time was cut in half and it would probably take me even less time if I didn't use a round brush but I like that look. I am confused when you say that BB won't make your hair straight because mine is it is also frizz free and easier to manage. fyi...
@estherpab it doesn't make it completely straight, but it does loosen up the curls so they're easier to blow dry straight, but if you use a diffuser you can fluff your curls without the frizz ;-) hope that made sense :-)
@beautybytk BB can make your hair super straight or it can be done and left curly. It all depends on the stylist and how they are applying it. I've done the BB six times. It came out way too straight for me when he applied the BB and used the straightener on my hair going on each section 10 times. It came out stick straight. Now he goes over each section 3 times, so it left my hair without frizz, but still have good body and it's not stick straight. My normal hair just has a lil wave.
@beautybytk The more the stylist uses the heated straightener, the straighter your hair will be. Also, afterward at home...don't wash it until the next day and use your own straightener on your hair that day a few times. I even used it in the middle of the night when I got up to use the washroom.
When I did it that way, my hair turned out super straight and lasted a few months staying that straight! The added heat use at home will not do any damage, it will help!
@CInzerillo if your hair was previously really curly or wavy then doing the brazilian won't straighten it, it just makes hair shinier, frizz-free and easier to manage. u don't have to use the flat iron, u can even just use a round brush and blow dry it straight. my hair is naturally wavy and i like running the flat iron through my hair to make it more straighter :-) thanks for the great question :-D
@CInzerillo Actually, when the Brazilian Blowout is in your hair it likes the use of heat. It activates the chemicals. Only, you're not damaging your hair with the heat, because you have the BB protecting your hair. Your hair is coated with the BB.
you have a great video. i have been researching this technique for sometime now and am a little confused is the Keratin treatment the same as the Brazilian blowout? i cannot tell the difference with terms such as 'Global blowout, Brazilian Blowout' and so on. oh dear i have so many questions could you please clarify?
@sassysuean thanks for your comment! keratin blowout is different from brazilian blowout. i don't know much about the keratin treatment except for the fact that you have to leave it in your hair for 3 day and you can't wash it or put your hair up in a pony tail and there's a longer time to process. with the brazilian, there is no processing time because you are worked on the whole hour and a half to two hours. also, the brazilian blowout is more natural than the keratin (so i've seen/heard)
@sassysuean if you'd like to keep your volume (and if your hair isn't complete curly) then the stylist who does your brazilian blowout need to apply at least 1-1/2" to 2" away from your roots so that way it can still volumptious. make sure their also flat ironing the hair up to lift up from the root
