Try side stepping the clutch a lil sooner, you may get more wheel spin but it'll def be faster right off the line. I used to try to feel out the launch and feather my clutch while I was full throttle in my 05 sti. Shouldn't yours have like a 2 step launch control so it reds around 5500 and prevents wheel spin off the line? still a dope car...
NO ONE GO TO THE SHOP!!!!!!, ALL JIMMY DOES IS SET YOU UP FOR FAILURE!!! LEMME SAY IT AGAIN FAILURE!!, ANY WHERE FROM LEAVING A BOLT MISSING FROM THE BLOCK SO OIL CAN DRIP, NON EFFECTIVE"CUSTOM" BLOW OFF VALVE PIPE SO IT WILL NOT RECIRCULATE, TO DISCONNECTING MOST GROUNDS BY HACKING TO THE POINT WHERE ITS HELD ON BY ONE COPPER WIRE. AND WOULD YOU WANT REAL CAR GUYS WORKING ON YOUR CAR OR SOME JACK ASSES LOOK UP THE NAME kakaletris......
I SMELL CLUTCH..So how long did your clutch last after launching like that? 5000 miles? Dont understand how so many people can watch a bad presentation. The only launch I've seen so far thats decent is "STI Launch" by 06stiboi, the STI only has an intake and exhaust. All those extra mods require you to become a better driver, not show off that you dont know how to drive.
hmmmmm, every time I launch my car goes from left to right and with minimal tire spin. That was on a stock clutch, now i have a twin plate and damn do I just go, but there is a bit of wheels spin but o well, still gets me a 1.7 60ft on bad tires.
The last thing you should worry about from dropping the clutch is the clutch going out. The transfer case costs a lot more than a clutch does, so that's why some people choose to slip the clutch at least a little bit, over dumping it.
Thats the proper way to launch a car, all you fools out there who think dropping your clutch is right, you would be seeing the wheels spin and the clutch break.
not many people use blow off valves. Makes you run rich, unless you are tuned. Alot of my friends stick with their bypass valves. Thats why you cant hear it because it goes right back into the intake manifold.
and if i got an 07, i would switch seats out for Bride, tear the ugly blue out, replace with 04 black WRX interior if it fits, then you are good to go :) and do the Carbon fiber top wing swap
Yea, i like them both, just STi killed it once again. They got a nice interior now, and fuckin killed the outside looks. Maybe they will bring the Sedan back with the drop of 59 percent of STi sales.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
STi cars suck, and they have a shitty interior. Unreliable, Ugly, Tried to copy mitsu in a bunch of ways. Oh and one more thing, all the belts in that car are made by Mitsubishi :)
I'm gonna have to disagree with you. The interior may be ugly but the seats are comfortable, the sti sounds better than the evo. It doesn't make as much power as the evo can with minor bolt ons, but they are both great cars.
@Red14EvoViii hey kid you should go look up the histories of these two car, the STI
and the Evo, they both are very different car, if you assumes subaru copy Mitsubishi
your wrong, subarus are boxer 4 cylinder and Evo's are 4 cylinder inline and the handling is also very different because they are designed differently, its funny how kids will defend the car they like and say unnecessary things lolz. any way, hey kid i love my classic sti : )
During this video it indeed had 331awhp from the intake, downpipe, exhaust, fuel pump, the boost was turned up, and it was tuned by dynoflash. We have the sheet to prove it. Thanks
I have a vf34 wrx with many supporting mods and I'm at 280WHP. I've seen MANY STis with TBE and other simple mods getting about 280WHP dyno tuned. I'm from CT, we have XX Tuning here (haven't heard of dynoflash).
Well i would recommend that you head down to our area (stamford, ct) and go to ics performance for a tune by al (dynoflash). Also check out his youtube channel. He is one of the licensed tuners of ecutek. Check it out, they do some sick shit.
Alright man, got it dyno'd today by big Al. He was able to push out 300WHP flat out of it and 282lbs of torque. Not bad for a 2.0L WRX!! I'm pretty happy! Thanks.
Yea hes in the same city that I live in. This STi got tuned by him and he did a great job. On the other hand, he will beat the shit out of your car if you get a road tune from him. Some people would recommend him, and others would definetly not go back. But, there are many tuners out there that are better. Personally, I would prefer going to "The Shop" over Dynoflash any day, but thats just me. He does make good numbers on the dyno though.
well im looking right now on subaru websites and none of them come with that front end with the fog lights. the wrx has the fog lights, so whoever you bought it from must have put on the wrx front, or you bought the front end with fog lights seperate.
The car now has a GT35r in it, with all kinds of other shit including the Hdyra, Aquamist, new motor, new heads and is fully built. After the break in period, which is 1000 miles, the car should be pushing somewhere around 550AWHP.
is that a stock clutch in that thing??? Mine went with 23K on the odo, now I got a twin plate, the sweet spot in that thing is sweet, if I get it right, or sometimes I just slip and dump and that thing goes crazy, still got a 1.71 60ft.
hey and AWD that knows how to launch... fucktards who just rev it up to 5k rpm's and just drop the clutch is no launch... ya gotta hit the sweet spot where you get no wheel spin but just enough launch
I like how the top two comments contradict each other. For the record driftking97 is correct, though.

How do you get over 80WHP gain by just getting an exhaust, intake, and a flash? No way. You're lucky to be at 280WHP right now.
That, and the clutch definitely felt that one... bad launch.
