Not Bad first try at all. For your next go, acquaint yourself with masks so you can keep the kid in the background moving. You'd then make a copy of the movie and resync when you unfreeze. Since you fall, covering the background kid, you wouldn't notice him re-sync.

@hbhorat51, I think it's pretty clear what he did. You have one video for the background, second the video of him where he pretends to throw the energyball (made using a solid and cc sphere to create it), A picture of the still frame was taken and inserted where the video was split, and since the camera was not moved he just masked out the lower left area of the video to show himself approach and throw the energy ball.

No, while you are "frozen" in the air, a frame changes from the other layer leaving. Making you move in the air. Need a bit of more fine tuning :P

Looks like he just needed to extend the frame slightly longer, I made that mistake as well and had the jumping frame. It looks really good though for a first try : ) I also noticed the man in the back freezes, you may need to mask out your frozen person so it doesn't effect the man in the back
