I think this fight prove one thing, Tousen is a bit of a sadist. Everyone agree that if he stabbed Kenpachi in the head from the beginning he would have win, but he only gave him two non-lethal wounds before realise that Kenpachi doesn't feel fear and THEN he decide to kill him directly. He wanted Kenpachi, and probably any opponent he used his bankai on, to feel what it is like to be in a world withoud light, his world.

Don't you find it strange how in the past he killed his entire squad team in a single blow when he was ordered to, but in this fight he trys to toy with Kenpachi, that doesn't fit his style unless he was ordered to do so. Either Kenny would die from the bankai or Tousen goes hollow and uses Nuevo Aspectos and rip him apart with sound.

You guys do know this battle wasn't a real one if you notice you can tell Kaname isn't fighting to his fullest I mean he's a captain, no captain could be so weak. Then when you see him fight Komamura he turns him into a living missile into buildings and the ground. In vizard form he stopped Tengen Myo with one arm and flicked it away like nothing.

Let's face it, Tousen had THE most overpowered Bankai out there. I mean, activate it, and decapitate the enemy before they know what's going on. No matter how awesome Zaraki is, and he's pretty damn awesome, Tousen would have won had he not been dicking around. It did take Kenpachi a few hits to be able to catch Tousen, and the first slash hit him with no resistance on Kenpachi's part. Had Tousen's slash been meant to kill, Zaraki would have lost.

Further, Kenpachi takes Tousen's first attack head on, proving that had Tousen gone for a vital, even Kenpachi would have fallen. Decapitation works on pretty much anyone. Moreover, Kenpachi was underestimating Tousen up until shortly after the bankai's activation, giving no time to remove the patch.
