Ya but all animals in shelters have been abused or abandoned because they're RESCUES!! and all animals in shelters just want a second chance! They've done nothing wrong so ALWAYS GET A RESCUE AND NEVER EVER A DOG FROM A BREEDER!!! Every dog you buy from a breeder another dog dies in a shelter. Don't kill any more animals!!
well some pet store dogs are from good breeders but not always...but some puppies from shelters hav problems 2! so may have been abused pr wateva and they might have some problems also...but everyone should just be carful i guess....its a chance u take
He, checkout the "Pets of Bel Air" website! I quote "Check out some of our available puppies below (while they last" . Are they being more honest than we are meant to think?
this is bullshit... really people not every pet store is like this. I bought my dog from a MALL and she's 6 years old and still perfectly healthy! So this is so stereotypical. People should just read into where the puppy/dog came from before they were at the store
you are ignoring the true meaning of this video. and the odds are you are going to receive a healthy puppy are much less than receiving a sick one. you say that you should ask where the puppy came from, the store is NOT going to tell you that they got it from a mill. employees of these stores have been told to LIE about the dogs so that they can maximize profit. they don't care about the animals. they care about the money. don't fall into the traps.
a puppy from a petshop can be perfectly healthy, but that doesnt change where they came from. Your dog's mother is probably still sitting in a cage with 5 other dogs suffering. NO GOOD BREEDER SELLS TO PETSHOPS! No show breeders sell to petshops. they dont, dont, dont!!!
Why buy a puppy from a mall when 4million dogs and cats are being put down simply because people like you choose to buy and not adopt. You are quite ignorant.
getting a pup from a pet store is just like winning a goldfish at a carnival - maybe it will live, maybe it won't...just remember it's probably been through a lot already. all u can do is give it a clean and good environment .. and wait and see ..
yeah your probably a mill suporter arent you how arrogent are you to defend a mill mills dont give their dogs the shots and proper care needed and those so called cute puppies that you saw all it is for is display they dont take care of the dogs like that
that comment by morenok88 is an idiot cause why would a person WHO HAD puppys over the years and cared for litters kill a little puppy? and like the daughter had puppys before why arent they dead then? try and think of it from different angles! imgine waking up to a dead puppy in your arms; as a little girl? and your propbably a pets of bel air SUPPORTER!!! i think nobody should support it!
no i am not an idiot, i am not a puppy mill suppporter, i've also never been to pets of bel air but the fact is kids cannot take care of an animal let alone a toy breed!! its common sense and to call someone u dont know an idiot i think is very ignorant! are you majoring in animal biology?no I AM so i think i would have a better clue at what actually happend to the poor dog!!!
I highly doubt full responsiblity of the dogs care was left on the child. Puppy mills do supply must pet stores and they come with a range of problems such as distempter and parvovirus. Even if the dogs were healthy, why buy? Millions of dogs need homes. Adopting saves a life. And don't try to tell me I am wrong, I am majoring in animal science. And I am obviously more intelligent that you are. ;]
rescues are great, so are breeders that have a maximus of 4 litters /year by ckc akc standards and are hand raised, visit their facility, if you get a gut feeling something is weird, dont buy, and dont feel bad for the puppy as a trigger to get it! you just make room for another. find a responsible small litter breeder or rescue!!!
i agree with what you say, but there are also downfalls to some of these things. a breeder can lie, cheat, and disguise whats actually gone on with their animals. akc registering is also a crock. to prove this, a shelter sent in a request to register a "male great dane". it was actually a cow. the akc accept the registration. anyone can register their dogs, so don't let this trick you. but yes, i agree with finding a responsible breeder and rescue.
toy breeds are at risk of getting hypoglysimia in their first months!
if the puppy seemed week it was because so much energy was sucked out and not enough sugar was coming in. you see you have a daughter that was probably overexcited and didnt know better..so the dog died not because it was sold sick but because u unintentionally killed it.
now im not saying these dogs arent from puppymills but i am saying you should have researched a little more on how to take care of a 2mnth old yorkie.
Hypoglycemia won't kill a dog overnight. One of our Chihuahua's had it when he was two months old. When a dog gets hypoglycemia it can't even hold it's head up so it is very hard to know that a dog is not sick.
The lady said she had dogs for 40 years... she knew how to care for the puppy. She doesn't seem like the kind of person to buy a pet without knowing anything about it.
Couple of questions, How long did she have the puppy before it became ill. Everyone knows that parvo is at it's worst around The holidays. And the gestation period is four days. Could it be they exposed the puppy to parvo?
Second question: Did the Pet Store stand behind the puppy?
What supporting documentation do you have to support this puppy died as a result from where it was sold?

first of all, look at how that child is holding their dog at 1:13..
second of all, is it just coincidental that the puppy dies the day after being in their possession???
no matter where you get a dog from, you are supposed to take it to the vet
dont blame the pet shops

The child is not hurting the puppy by the way she is holding it. Stop blaming the victims!!!

All parvo shots should have already been administered before any puppy is sold.
