    thank you tc

  • This song haunts me every time I hear it. I remember being about ten when it came out. I also remember a rainy Saturday morning listening to the line about "water in the milk where the hole in the roof let the rain come through" while watching a bucket in the kitchen catch the rain from our leaking roof.

  • @Cris43130 Thanks Chris loved the comment...tc my friend

  • @dorkinglad Thank you for a great comment ... tc my friend

  • @brownkv081 Yea me too , and i guess i may need a bit of surgery to help with the handsome bit Thanks for commenting

  • @teddie488 Thank you so much for putting this song on the youtube man. This is the song my mom used to have on her mix tape. There was this and several Roxette songs. She thought it was Johnny Cash who sang it. So after years, I mean YEARS of searching here it is. Last time I heard it...well before the last few weeks was when I was 4-5 years old. This song reminds me of that Mix tape.

  • @brownkv081 That was a very heart warming comment ..thank you it made my day

  • @brownkv081 Memories of Mother. AKA country music God bless you.

  • @ernie27177 You ae welcome my friend

  • my old best bud John co-wrote this. Its always been one of my favorites of his

  • I don't care how many records or CD's that THEY claim that the fat 1st Grader Garth Brooks has sold, There is not ONE Performer alive today that is as Great as Waylon was and Still IS ! Waylon was the Best ! No One today can Top Him and NO ONE ever Will!

  • @BearStar1 Great comment..............Garth whoooooooooooooo

  • @teddie488; Thanks! I just wish that some performer(s) would come along and bring back the REAL Country sound of good old fashion Country Music the way Waylon played it , wrote it, and performed it ! I really do MISS the Old style Country Music and I despise, dislike and have NO use for this " New Country " sound that the various performers are putting out today!

  • @BearStar1 100 percent agreeable.

  • @BearStar1 I beg to differ, I think the general concensus, and mine...thinks that Mr. G. Jones is the greatest singer of all time. But I do like Waylon.

  • @ernie27177 Ernie well it is all a matter of opinion and i like George toobut you have come on to a Waylon channel don't you think it is natural that we will say the best of all time is Waylon .. But we respect your opinion

  • Thanks for posting.

    Miss you , Waylon.

  • Your Welcome .......tc

  • One of my favorites

  • yea ..mine to

  • I guess this is the 1967 version, I remember it being lusher for some reason.

    Still, I do like it.

  • This is such an amazing version. My mom had this song on a mix tape, I remember hearing it when I was like...4 years old, and she thought it was johnny cash, I have been looking for this song for 20 years. Wow...I really just shoulda used the internet.

  • Arghhh but was that possible 20years ago, just thinking of an excuse for you thats all . lol TC

  • ...oh good call. BLAME GAME! Not my fault...I just answered that comment to hear the song again.

  • Thank you good memories ,

  • This is the music that started me on country music. Thanks for the memories!

  • Thanks, Teddie for reminding all of us that it is Waylon's birthday. Just sorry we lost him much sooner than we should have. Maybe Nashville today has forgotten him and replaced him with tall, skinny pretty boys. But those of us who know his music know that he is the real deal. There will never be another Waylon.

  • No that is so true, Sandy Nashville will miss him too after all didnt he change everything the mafia(Nashville) just became another gang, Once the outlaws rode in

  • He was one of a kind...and he had it ALL..the talent...the VOICE..the good looks...and that uncanny ability to sing different kinds of songs...that he himself wrote! An amazing guy...its why we love him !

  • H.Birthday Waylon. What a great video.Never knew he did Love of The Common People! Doh! Nice touch having Johnny there too.Great friends for a long time. This is fabulous.Tx for this.
