Please Bernie, Please, Please, PLEASE, run for president, you don't understand how much we need people like you behind the reigns, people who are consistent, people we can actually trust on their record. I would be proud to call you my president, not this corporate puppet that soils the seat now.
By now, I hope it is clear to everyone that neither the red OR blue team will stop spending more every year until the country goes bankrupt. Why are there people that still support spending??
@DKPrepper If you don't spend any money, if everyone doesn't spend money, do you thing there will be an economy to technically go bankrupt in? Money doesn't disappear when you spend it, it's not used up like some natural resource. Money just pushes people to spend their time doing useful things. It's people's time that is valuable, not money, and idleness and low education that are the villains of the economy.
@MrTommacken If we can be honest and not full of hatred and ingnorance for just a minute, the greatest growth period in the history of mankind was created by the New Deal, and the President who was openly hostile of fascism before WW2, the defeat of Nazi-ism has really hurt you and your kind.
How about a better raise for us on social security we have not had a raise in over 2 years and now the raise will not cover the cost of living . I know Bernie wil fight for us and I hope he can get out heap raise back and stop the cuts.
This is mostly BS. This same problem was discussed in 11/14/1995. The same reasons, same rejections and same threats by the Democrats. (SS-/tax the rich-hurt the retired).
. History repeats itself because the Congress will not do what is right. Here is the 11/14/1995 balance budget -- Listen to it and see where Bernie got his speech. look up C-spanvideo program 68347-1 Budget Reconciliation Conference - C-SPAN Video Library
Every single word rings true. The reason the right doesn't get it is because they don't want to get. It's just hard to understand why people would vote against their own interests. But, then I think about George W getting two terms and now know anything is possible. What a scary thought.. huh?
Thank you Senator Bernie Sanders!!!!!! Just letting the Bush tax cuts expire (for EVERYONE) would get rid of a huge portion of the deficit. Stopping our military invasions that cost us trillions would get rid of a huge portion of the deficit. Extending Medicare for all and using that to control our out of control medical costs would get rid of the remainder. If so much wealth flows to the richest 1%, and then you don't tax it of course the country will be BROKE!
The disconnect problem is far larger than the deficit problem. Social Security can't pay out one dollar tomorrow unless somebody puts in a dollar today. Translation: The people wanting Congress to keep their hands off of Social Security and Medicare have have spent their entire lives repeatedly reelecting the people who have stolen more than $2.5 trillion from them and they fully expect those same people to steal whatever amount is necessary to supply their 'benefits' from someone else.
Don't you just love this guy! I wish I lived in Vermont because the two people who represent my state -Mary Landrieau (A Republican who claims to be a Democrat and votes 85% with the R's on the hill) and David Vitter ( Republican who is an unindicted felon for violating the Federal Mann Act -transporting prostitutes over the state line for immoral purposes on taxpayer money) are both spineless pawns of big oil!
Sure, Here's a new video. The heck with all that.. Bernie, Just run for president. You will win. The time has come to show the world. Americans can be smart and shake the system.
Help out the 99% offer your leadership to the movement, be the start of the 99%Party, In a start of a true democracy. This is what would give an official voice to the people. Or how do the corrupt officials get FiReD, I thought they were the peoples employees. When a business hires a lying, stealing, not to mention back stabbing person, what happens? they get fired, yet we have maniacal leadership. Why are WE THE PEOPLE/EMPLOYERS, forced to sit Idly by, 'til next propaganda campaign. It's wrong
This guy was right up until the "blame the rich. It's not "rich" people who have deteriorated this country. Would you think Steve Jobs (if he was still here) the problem? No. It's the poor policies, endless spending and deals with the corporate lobbyists (see: Monstanto/GMO) that has been the problem. The fact that the Federal Reserve prints more money in order to fund the IMF, international deals and deteriorate our dollar, its our f'd up policies.. read up on Ron Paul -he's the brilliant one.
@lths90 Sanders is not simply blaming "the rich", nor is anyone on the left.
I'm a liberal capitalist. I admire industrious, inventive entrepreneurs who get rich creating products and services of genuine value to people (like Steve Jobs).
To be precise: it's the financial sector's chokehold on our politics that is the problem, in addition to, as you said, corporate lobbyists.
I like Ron Paul to an extent, but he's off-base on several key issues (in my opinion).
@lths90 It's not that rich's fault per-say and he doesn't blame the rich for going easy on the rich. It's the perception that having more very wealthy is somehow good for the economy when that's simply not true. I think the take home message is that it's not the rich's fault, but it's time they realised how easy life is compared to the rest.
Congress has borrowed heavily from SS, many in Congress especially on the right would like to privatize SS so that they don't have to pay back what they have taken from the American ppl. The US owes China a huge debt but Congress owes SS even more & there are many that intend not to pay it back. They'd have us privatize our benefits w/the very energy that weakened our economy. With Congressional insider trading & the greed of Wallst, how much can we expect to trickle down to the rest of us
There are few politicians I truly respect and admire. Senator Sanders is one of them. Thank you for all your tireless efforts to help average Americans.
The govermnent has not stayed within its budget? You suppose that might be largely due to Cheney's sound bite, "deficits don't matter," or right-wing "starve the beast," mentality?
That was brilliant. I love Senator Sanders he always seems to hit the nail on the head. Straight talk express never had anything on him. (my way of saying that he's stellar)
I disagree, the Deficit is caused by a Government that has not stayed within their budget. Regardless of the tax breaks, or Wall Street, if they had a budget each year and didn't go over it we wouldn't have a deficit. Bernie is STILL trying to pass the blame. Stand up and admit Bernie that you are part of the problem and have been for some time.
@aziamxtc no, your wrong. the area that stayed the least withing their budget, as he said, is the dept of defense. Obama had nothing to do with starting a war based on lies, which only Bush's friends benefited from. you're also mistaken about the tax cuts and wall street not having anything to do with it. the wealthiest people are paying nearly nothing in percentage terms compared to people who need every last dime just to pay bills.
@hilltree402 giving the wealthy tax breaks did not put us $15 Trillion in debt. Our Government does not know how to budget correctly, even with wars factored in. Give me a break, Bernie has been there how long? Our elected officials have no one to blame but themselves. Quit pointing the finger and get your house in order. Besides, I never mentioned Obama, this issue is way bigger than he is, he is just making it worse, didn't start with him, but Bernie has been around for a long long time.
@aziamxtc so cutting the taxes for everyone but the people who actually spend it (because they have to in order to live) doesn't make for higher national debt? sorry, that math doesn't work. if you cut taxes AND spend money on unpaid for wars the debt will rise. just because people have been in govt for a long time doesn't mean they really have any responsibility for this...it's one vote, and no matter how loud they take lobbyists get more attention because they fund the next election.
Are these rich people idiots? if they take everything off people and leave them totally desperate then what have they to lose? They will leave people with no option but to revolt.
I don't understand why you won't just come out and admit to the people that the Super Committee is unconstitutional instead of leading them astray to believe that it is; and while your at it, go ahead and explain to everyone how the Republicans and Democrats are for the corporations that line their pockets and have long quit working for the good of those who actually vote for them. I'm just about to completely change how I've felt about you in the past. Clowns belong in the rodeo not the senate.
my respect and god bless you senador sander..... you are the only great senador in US
