  • ALL Take offs are NOT max power. Look up reduced power takeoff.

  • I wonder how much longer the take-off ground roll is for the C-130, as opposed to lets say Nellis AFB?

  • Is the the "J" series or just the old school, couldnt tell from the props in this one.

  • @narib414 If you pause it you'll get your answer. Not to mention the smoke makes it even more obvious. And the sound.

  • Haha look at all the trolls fighting in the comments. Seriously guys, relax :)

And what a lucky man gets to stand on the centerline of a runway haha

  • You are all a bunch of dipshits...who cares if it's an assault takeoff or not?

  • Although that isnt an assault strip this is one thing you may here on the headsets on an actual assault takeoff.................."Pilot , Engineer"....... " go ahead Eng"......"You want me to close the bleeds?"......."Roger Eng".

  • @mmckee79 You would have been termed a "605" under the old designation system. :-)

  • That is a big fucking plane.

  • Not an assault take off. Max power takeoff maybe

  • @HercIFENGTN If you are an engineer like your name implies you need to get back in your TOLD definitions.

  • @aschlech1 Best comment ever.

  • @HercIFENGTN

    Exactly not assault

  • @aschlech1 Hello, my name is Esther Weon and I work for a production company in LA. We were working on a war docudrama, and we were wondering if we could use this footage in the film? I have sent you more information to your youtube inbox. Thank you, and please let me know!

  • "... and climb like a homesick angel." LOL I love that wording!

  • what path did you take to get where you are today?

  • @bajesus666 Great question. Deserves to be looked at!

  • @bajesus666 College, civilian flight school (CMEI), then used the want ads at baseops.net to contact multiple guard/reserve units.

  • If a runway is not long or wide enough we have to use assault procedures, sometimes its smart to stay low and get smash too!!! Nice take off man!!

  • what is a assault takeoff is it the same as a STOL??

  • Beautiful!

  • That was sweet.

  • Seems like kind of a dangerous spot to be standing if they had to abort.

  • @skipplet An abort would involve us stopping in the remaining runway

  • Don't really care what you call it...as long as I can jump out of 'em

  • Ahaha people think they know better then a 130 instructor what this takeoff is called?!

Freon- You think maybe if you 'assault' into the short field, you might have to 'assault' out? Cheerio??

  • Wilson's got my back son!!

  • A-hole considering I did the takeoff I know what it's called. Go back to your hole.

  • An assualt takeoff?.... jeez you lot crack me up! What exactly does an assault takeoff constist of then einstein seeing as assault implies and arrival and this is clearly a DEPARTURE!!!!!!!

  • I'm sorry that you don't understand what an assault takeoff "constists" of. Even though this isn't "and" arrival, it's still an assault....Einstein. You lot need to learn spelling and grammar if you're going to troll youtube comments. The freaking language is named after your (or "you're" as you'd probably spell it) dumb country.

  • @aschlech1 Don't you love when people get on and talk about what they don't know shit about? I know nothing of military procedures... so I ask; could you please explain to me what an assault take off is? I've heard of cork screw or tactical landings, is it similar just in a departure?

  • @MrFlightSimVidz As assault takeoff is what we use to depart shorter/skinnier/unimproved runways. It involves max power and rotating possibly below Vmc (although we usually rotate right at Vmc)

  • @aschlech1 Okay. Makes sense. Thanks!

  • That is NOT an assault takeoff. If it was he would have been about 200' above you by the time he passed you. Looks more like a "Clean and jerk"...get airborne, stay below 50', suck up the gear and flaps to build up as much speed bythe end of the runway, then pull back on the yoke and climb like a homesick angel.

  • Assault procedures have to do with the available runway. So yes this was an assault takeoff. Now you know.

  • just curious, what would you have done if they had rejected?

  • it's a 130, he would've had enough time to take a nap and crawl off the runway before it got to him.

  • Nice take off !

  • Awesome!!!
