It'd peobably worse actually, there would have to be an anti-hero with a dark past, the main role would have to be a kid or teen (depending on age target), the characters would have to be human, and they'd have to have triangular noses, triangular mouths, crazy hair, puppy dog pupils, and they'd have big white bars for teeth.

I loved Willy Fog when I was a lad. and Dogtanian and the three Muskahounds. which was made by the same company.. Fog is also the Duke of Buckingham and the Naturature and Rigadon is Dogtanian... So Cool

BRB are still making animated cartoons, even if they look like all the other Japanese anime stuff out there - go have a look at their website (lots of Dogtanian info on there too). It's just that with CBBC a shadow of its former self and CITV now a memory there's no UK market for this stuff anymore. Too innocent for one thing; todays kids are busy indulging in knife crime and happy slapping at the same age that I was rushing home for Willy Fogg without a care in the world :(

This is the opening for the DVD movie version, where they compiled clips from episodes. For some reason they made different opening song in Finnish for the movie, where the lyrics follow more closer the english ones.

This was anothet favourite from the 80's. It was based on "Around the World in 80 Days" Like most of the good cartoons from this period it was made in Spain.
