  • nice vid. loved da music

  • you to lazy to read that for us?

  • What the name of the song during the first 55 seconds?

  • I envy you guys believing in God. Me and God parted a year back, and I haven't found total peace yet. I have had a lot of sleepless nights thinking about the thing I believe is after death; darkness. To think that I only have approxomately 100 years in this, and any world, is a horrible thought. But this is what I've settled with, maybe I will reunite with God once more. I don't know, but I sincerely hope so. And I wish that you atheists would stop nagging on the believers. Theyre the fortunate.

  • @eituzett actually i feel horrible for the people that believe in a god and eternity of heaven if it actually exsisted. Sure 100 years all bliss might be great and maybe you could get through a 1000 but knowing there is no end in sight would be a true hell. Thank you but i want to rest in peace.

  • @hellasow Would you seriously rather choose nothing at all, ever ? And heaven is, according to believers, the perfect match for your wishes. So there could be an end to it, maybe God could delete a lot of your memories and tell you when he was going to do so...

  • @eituzett there would be no point in doing anything in heaven. If you did not do something today. ah it can wait another million years, i will get around to it. Knowing that there is an end gives purpose to your life. You only have a set amount of time and that is it. Kinda give you life urgency and meaning.

  • you stupid peaple can't boost beautiful things like this, without saying bad words about the religion...

God is love, God created the universe. Tour understanding that scientists don't believe in GOD is false.

Enstein believed in god, platon, aristotel, best chess master in the world and many many more civilized and educated worlds leader

  • @Kibalionas Newton one of the best thinkers of all time believed in god and when Newton could not come up with a answer to multi planetary motion of planets he said it was god work. It took another 100 years for someone else to come up with and figure out how the planets move together. When if newton did not have "god" on the brain he could of easily figured it out. Religion retards even the best of us into lazy thinking.

  • @hellasow you have a false understanding about religion. I'm not talkng about the particular religion, u can create your own if u like it, but may that religion serve to order, not to chaos. BECOUSE only order can create something, while chaos only can destroy and corrupt, they just use things . Having no religion leads to nihilism.

  • @Kibalionas ok 1st minor point you capitalized(yelled) "becouse" at me twice, it is spelled "because"...i assume english is a 2nd language for you. 2nd being a athiest(country/group) is not equal to chaos. It could be easily argued the most atheist/agnostic countries today are some of the most peaceful. What are the chaotic atheist countries? i could name a whole bunch of unstable ones that are religious. Your argument is greatly flawed.

  • @hellasow you have a false understanding about the religion. I'm not talkng about the particular religion, u can create your own if u like it, but may that religion serve to order, not to chaos. BECOUSE only order can create something, while chaos only can destroy and corrupt. Having no religion leads to nihilism, nihilism leads to chaos. Your fight against religion, helps only to bad ppl and criminals, who can justify their actions. Your fight doesn't help SCIENCE to develope at all my friend.

  • @Kibalionas the christian countries have flourished a lot cause they were smart enough to let atheist/agnostic scientist build them weapon, food, medicine, communication technology. The U.S. is not as powerful and influential because most of the south and middle of the country is dominated by jesus freaks. Its because all those religious based people say i want you scientist to build me the best military you atheist/agnostic scientist can think up...the atheist scientist protect their jesus

  • @Kibalionas You're talking about the wrong kind of chaos...not "chaos" in the mathematical sense. Order can and does arise from mathematical chaos.

  • Great video. I'd love to know the name of the song.

  • Just can't find words to express the sensation of this fine work and just stupendous video... I admit to you all that I had tears running down my cheeks while watching this in admiration and awe! Great work! Please continue to stimulate my soul..... :-)

  • for the ppl who lived 15th centuary or so, who believed that church was the answer to everything , are retards. without science we'd be stuck in the fucking stone age

  • Enough about religious mumbo jumbo, about the video: it seems that Einstein’s General Relativity is only half the picture. The true secrets of the citadel of the galaxies lies with our understanding of Dark Matter; unfortunately which we know little about.

  • I would much rather take my chances out there amongst the stars..Habla huk ba cant blow me up out there. no god to bow down to and no man to answere to. Only on planet Earth.Ya can keep the planet.just let me get off,eh..Im heading for that star.

  • it's all a bit ott with the music and editing, it must of been done by a yank. All that beauty ruined! be more subtle.

  • i made this like along time ago so get off my balls about it.

  • I want to be an astonomer.

  • I would say spelling the job title right would be a good first step!

  • Ha-ha.

  • same here =P

  • It takes a minute to grasp that these things really EXIST. Although they are artificially colored by NASA to reflect their composition, these are truly astounding.

I was sad not to see the Pillars of Creation, but these images were awesome.

The CG/photos were fom the last overhaul of the Hubble, correct?

  • the most impressing thing i find is the multitude of them. so many....

  • I wonder which album is this soothing music from...Any ideas?...

  • Just think what thinks can b waiting 4 us out there?...........

No idea!....... exactly no one knows,no one has travel to ANOTHER galaxy in life

  • Lets just say, that all those galaxies are elements, a compilation of atoms, of solar systems with the each sun being the nucleus, so in that perspective the universe is acually pretty small, not compared to us, but something a lot lol acually like 533,79003-,98990 billion times bigger than us , just making up numbers but u catch my drift , so lets just say something a really bigger than us is just looking through a microscope and looking at some atoms likeweDOtryingTOfigureOUTwhereWEcameFROM

  • I am a quark who lives on/in an electron!

  • Simply amazing. I'm 14, and I've been addicted to Astronomy since I was about three or four years old.

  • Was that sarcasm? :P

  • Haha, it wasn't.

  • Ah ok :D

  • astronomy is awe inspiring.

  • Amazing video with a great sound track.

  • So 4.5 billion people believe in the devil then....the other 2 billion just wonder.

  • But only 2billion or less are going to the christian heaven.

  • I was being IRONIC!

No one is going to heaven!

Answer me this--how long do you think you are suposed to live in the eternal afterlife?

Ask yourself this- eternal means forever...forever means Billions upon Billions of years..then you can make the numbers bigger by a factor of 1000 or 10,000,so you want to be eternal?.trillions+trillions upon trillions of years.....what are you going to do in all those years?? that would be torture in it's self!!

and all that lick arse bowing!!

    FUCK THAT!!!!

  • Are you stalking me?!

  • No lol we probably watch the same videos.

I like astronomy. And I am anti religious.

  • I am a staunch Atheist and very anti religion

  • Why split hairs over a type of religion???

I bet if there was a real ''god'' for each of them collective notjobs and they were ''looking down'' they would be pissing themselves, at the fucked up way them lot try and tell others ''WHY'' we are here and what it is ''all about''...it would be like tabloid shit that you get about celebrities....did i fuck say that..or did i fuck do that..and so on............

  • Definitely less, by about 2 billion.

  • Absolutely beautiful... Thanks Hubble for these powerful snapshots !

  • No its from satan.

  • AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Beautiful. Sent chills down my spine.

  • I feel so small and insignificant. It's not just me, we are all small. We as a whole still are small and insignificant on this scale...

  • i beg to differ

the fact we can soak it all in and marvel at its beauty should enlarge your spirit

at least thats how i feel

and rememeber also the fact the very observation we make of it, somehow creates what it is, so in a sense we make the universe what it is

    crazy talk lol

  • Brilliant video!

    Thank you!

  • All that is missing is Carl Sagan's voice :'-(

  • Marvelous, simply marvelous.

  • i just found out that the ufo's above my country (holland) were triangle american spy planes..they fricking scared the crap out of me ^ ^

  • Comment removed

  • I look at this and i think how incredible. I like to think if it were created by a god, why would it concern itself with unimportant pettiness of war and hatred. The god of the bible, is a petty little god filled with hatred anger and evil.

  • So all of this was created and formed as is in one 24 hour day? And that was three days after the earth was formed?

Don't make me laugh!!! How many trials do those IDiots have to loose? Both scientific and legal?

  • I must say, this video touched me, almost to tears. The observable universe is so beautiful, so amazing, and I am honored to belong to a race that is advanced enough to gaze upon it.

At the same time, I feel saddened. There are still people who reject science in favor of a single book, with the same old, disproved story from so long ago

. It seems like some of us are so eager to advance and to learn; while others are content to reread the same book, over and over, never achieving anything.

  • Well said sir, well said.

  • You know, I used to care about these people. I used to debate them and tell them were they went wrong, but I figured, it's hopeless. These people are not willing to even consider that they might be wrong. I therefore decided to let them be as long as they don't try to push their religious views into my schools and governmental institutions. But I understand your frustration.

  • Unfortunately they don't feel the same.

  • beautiful vid..

  • I had a dream about rubbing my dick on the hubble.

  • As George Carlin said, "People laugh at the UFO and alien researchers, but take it seriously when a religous person talks."

  • religion and cosmology need not be adversaries

  • religion and science need not be adversaries necessarily

  • I was deeply displayed by the lack of ghaks in this clip.

  • great video!

I've got the feeling are finally coming to their senses about what real in the universe, or of what we know of it.

  • I think the comments are funny because not a single religious person has commented, yet many people have replied to said imaginary comments. =)

  • Yea you've checked all 94 comments?

  • Yes, just look for any downvoted ones. Those are the religious people.

  • i believe in god, but i find science intresting, when we look in space, we are lookin back in time, its pretty cool

  • absolutely stunning! god believers,,, jsut how much evidence u need

  • I saw Jesus' face in the Nebula. Shouldn't be surpising though, I see Jesus' face in my shit splattered toilet too.

  • Dude, you could make millions if you sold that on eBay!

  • While I can understand, although not agree, how such majesty in the universe might lead one to the conclusion that there must be an all-powerful creator... from what in this video would you draw any conclusion that supports any specific religion of man?

  • Flying Spaghetti Monster, of course...

  • RAmen!

  • No religion in particular. Just something out there.

  • On the other hand one might be religious in a way that einstein was, as in not in the belief of a personal god but rather the mystery of the universe.

  • Wow, people givin' me the thumbs-down. What for? For not being an atheist? That's not cool.

  • Religion has no place with science its like opposites

  • I'm not saying it does.

  • @RagingLampoon

"Wow, people givin' me the thumbs-down. What for? For not being an atheist?"

No, you get thumbs-down for your pathetic attempt of proselytization in a place of reason, miss agnostic-eclectic-neo-pagan-what-ever.

  • yeah, but definetly impossible to be a Christian...the arrogance to think everything was made for us.

  • I'm not a Christian. :P I'm an agnostic eclectic neo-pagan. But anyway...

Yeah, that bugs me too. We're a tiny, tiny blip in the ever-flowing river of time, and an even smaller blip when you think of how immense the universe is. Human arrogance leads to so many problems. :(

  • How infinitely more wonderful and awe-inspiring than anything in the Bible!

  • Very True. As far as we can see, you would think you could spot Heaven or Hell. Nothing of it.

  • @StevoDog21

Please shut up, if you want to think that way then thats what you should do, THINK it, dont start bringing down the bible you atheist.

  • @Snakelover23 You do realise that he was just stating his opinion, right? He is not bringing down the bible, you are just to intolerant to realise that people should be able to state thier beliefs, even if they are different than your's.

  • @Snakelover23 - The Bible advocates slavery, sexism, racism, and genocide. Consider this statement from the Bible: “If a woman is not a virgin on her wedding night, she should be stoned to death at her father’s door step”. Criticizing scripture as disgusting, and evil, and sadistic as this, is definitely a good thing for the human species.

  • @Snakelover23 So atheists should keep quiet, is that it? Meantime, religious dullards like you will continue to screech your nonsense at every opportunity, seek to oppress those who disagree, suppress science and the education of the young in what is provable and true, and generally try to drag everyone back into another dark ages. The bible is fairytale nonsense and you're a fool for believing it.

  • @StevoDog21 shut face

  • How interesting, and telling, is the religious believers' first natural impulse faced with any perceived disagreement with their cherished mythology: an imperious demand for silence!

Their true colors are clearly shown- intolerance and hostility are their hallmarks. Censorship, and suppression of any opposition to their beliefs are their goals.

    Well, guess what?

We live in one of the few places and times in history where you Believers DON'T have the power to force the rest of us to conform!

  • @StevoDog21 Implying space and religion are incompatible

  • what's the title of that introsong?

  • Wonderful, did anyone see God's footprints? no? nobody? They should be around...

  • Stunning.

  • Thank you again, FfreeThinker!

    Awesome!

  • Beautiful. Stunning insight into the infinite wonder and possibilities of our universe. Nice one.

  • i love it

  • Nice tune! Great vid!!

  • absolutely mesmerizing.

what a privilege it is to be alive in this era of universal enlightenment.

Humanity if finally beginning to crack the secrets of the cosmos without the interference of superstition or primitive ignorance.

We've come so far as intelligent primates, but we've still got much further to go..

  • This makes me sad. Sad because we're trapped here on this "pale blue dot". There's endless beauty and wonder out there... and we may never get to experience it :[

  • heh tell me about it, we were all born a few hundred years too early.

  • Awesome

    5/5

  • Magnificent.

  • Almost unbearably beautiful. It is difficult even for those of us who exercise our imaginations as a matter of course to conceive that all of this is happening out there NOW; galaxies coalescing, dancing, dying. The enormity of it is so overwhelming contemplation of it makes one's consciousness feel on the verge of dissolution. Stunning, stunning work.

  • This is why I can not believe that it was all made for humans; our civilisation is not limited to and will never die out on this planet. We shall venture forth and return to the stars from whence we came.

For 'we look upon the heavens so that one day our children may look back towards home'

  • Beautiful. =)

  • Beautiful. Brings home the scale of what's out there, and the tremendous gravitational forces involved.

  • haha its got more ratings then views

  • god's voice would pale in comparison to the sound of a supernova.

  • in space no one can hear you nova

  • pfft

if the hubble was so great it could see jesus in heaven

  • Jesus lives in another dimension, duh.

  • wow.. i can't wait to see what the nextgen of telescopes will find.

The people working on this scientific front make me proud to be part of the human species! if only we spent more money and effort on exploring the universe

  • They'le find Unicorns and Jesus and God.

    Fairy Tale Telescopes yaaaay!

  • hahahahaha yeah maybe.. but I think not. Jesus is with us now, all the time, no need to expand our knowledge. PFFFF I think theists would like us to all go back to living like the sand dwelling retards who came up with Jesus and 'gods'. They can't comprehend we a but a speck of dust in the cosmos.

Like Stephen Hawkin said - We are just an advanced breed of monkeys on a minor planet of a very average star. But we can understand the Universe. That makes us something very special.

  • its crazy how we are like 1% different from chimps and in that 1% you have hubble, skyscrapers etc..

  • So imagine a species with 5% different DNA from humans. What wonders could be acheived?

  • Hubble schmubble! Let's get to work on the next gen telescope!

  • ... the last thing I read was that new images wouldn't be forthcoming for a few month's- tests on new instrumentation and whatnot- but we should give kudos to the crew of sts-125, the 4th and final serving mission to Hubble, especially John Grunsfeld and Drew Feustel for their amazing work repaing failing instruments and installing Hubbles new 'wider eyes'- the better to see in UV and IR. Here's to more images like the ones in this great video for (at least) five more yeas.

  • The galaxy Arp 147 is ridiculous. Galaxy made a hole in another galaxy haha.

  • This, for me, is proof that ANY established/widely believed religion on this Earth is faulty. It's staggering that we can see images from THAT far back in time.

  • Are there any new pics coming from Hubble since the recent upgrades?

  • "Science, it works bitches"

    FEAR THE BUNNY ! 8)

  • I love how every single video asks to fight against the votebots. Isn't that a bit presumptuous for a video that's neutral like this one?

  • I'd have to agree, seems like it's being milked, but in all fairness, I never really vote without a reminder.

  • I've been on a couple sites that actually lower a picture/video/quiz's rating if it's viewed and not voted on. Each non-vote counted as a zero star, in other words. So, that tends to be a reminder on my part.

Also... Arp! Arp arp arp! What's with these astronomers naming these galazies?

  • Well, cut them some slack, there are 200-400 billion stars in the Milky Way Galaxy alone that we need to name.

Ford named less than 100 cars before they started doling out numeric designations.

  • Humans on long space journeys, isolated from the general gene pool for long, long periods...eventually speciation a possibility. What would this new species think of the old on a return to the earth..I wonder.

  • wow

  • Can't wait to see what the new cam can do.

  • great vid.

  • great video :)

But I prefer the informative videos more :P. Not that these aren't informative.

  • wow perfection!!!!

soo magical! made my frekin day :D

  • You use this music a bit too frequently, FFreeThinker. There's a treasure trove on that site it came from, including others from Zajed.

  • Time, Space and Classical music. Go together like a horse and carriage. Thus, I tell you brother, you cant have one without the other.

  • Space + Bach = awesomeness

    G minor fugue ftw

  • Sweet, I like that!!!

  • beautiful

  • You know, I can have the worst day ever, but soon as I see those kinds of photos....can't help but find comfort in their beauty.

If human kind is to argue and disagree on some things, the beauty of the universe is something we can all agree upon.

  • this video is amazing!

  • amazing video my friend, great work with images and information, truly makes us think about the universe that we live in.

5 stars +fav, this well deserves to be my 1000' fav!

  • this...is the most depressing...video ever...frankly I think this will convert more peoplt o Christianity...then athiesim or science and such.....man. It's always hit me, but just...seeing all this makes me wish there was a afterlife, or a god...or even reincarnation, so I could some day get to see all that up close. Thats my only regret in life that I will probably not live long to see all this beauyty even closer.

  • First and most important: this video never claimed to want to convert someone to anything. That's just your interpretation and I don't know where you are getting that from (wishful thinking?).

Second: if you already can deceive yourself in such great ways, like thinking to convert to some religion to get a "ticket" to see this beauty up close sometimes, I don't know why you are watching a science video in the first place.

Btw. these are some of the best depression figthing images I know.

  • "Btw. these are some of the best depression figthing images I know."

Nothing kills my depression like a reminder of how insignificant our planet and its inhabitants are, in a seemingly infinite and incomprehensibly old universe.

  • these are so amazing. :> And I love them and everything, my only meaning with depression is, knowing that there is so much that I will never get to see, imagine not just seeing all these things from a distance, but being up close and personal and watching these things nearby.

  • it's a real shame we'll never get to see these beautiful sights with our own eyes.

  • If something like this would be shown every day instead of only one of the daily soaps or talk shows, the world would surely be a better and more peaceful place. By realizing the own insignificance in the universe, it becomes all the more significant, what you do in your one and only life and in the life of others. I can't really explain it, but for me every believe in something supernatural only subtracts from this feeling.

  • Just think we're conveniently placed in the spiral arm of our galaxy allowing us to witness all this beauty, we're truly touched by his noodly appendage, ramen.

  • sometimes I question his greatness...why didnt he place our galaxy in a cluster? So that we could awe in his greatness even more.

    Ramen

  • or so the other galaxies could ram into us and kill us all...

  • You suck the noodle from the end my friend, not from the middle.

  • friends, friends, we mustn't fight.

In his great noodleness, our slender lord has ordained that in a few billion years or so (3-4) the Andromeda galaxy will hit our own and royally fuck up the Milkey Way, our solar system included.

So we'd better get moving on that whole space exploration thing because our blessings of noodles woun't last forever.

may his holy noodly appendage gently touch us all and guide us in the narrow path. RAMEN.

  • RAMEN

  • Ramen.

  • If He did that He would be providing evidence of His existence He prefers faith. He gives us clues like the creation of pasta and meat balls.

  • the universe... it's beautiful

  • "This glowing nebula has been carved out by ultraviolet radiation and stellar winds..."

    Damn that's so poetic.

  • truly amazing.... I don't need god when I have science.

  • Bah, I can't find these songs anywhere.

  • I'm struggling, but I also never quit...imma get my hands on them some how ^.^

  • Gave me chills. I can't wait until I finally get the knowledge to understand this stuff completely, but I love gazing at those photos of deep space.

  • brilliant

  • Nice video. It's a tough call but this 3:55 is probably my favorite shot.

Does anyone know where I can meet this divine superhuman invisible being that created these beautiful images?
