I thought that the use of pneumatic for public transportation might be a good option. Later on, I discussed such alternative use of pneumatic with my father and realized how ridiculous such idea actually was. Thank you for your information.
@craneywatch Pneumatic tube systems are the most efficient way to transport small items (up to 12 lbs) throughout hospitals--reaching speeds up to 25 feet-per-second. Alternative transport systems include the SpeciMinder and RoboCourier autonomous mobile robots for payloads up to 50 lbs, and we have TransCar automatic guided vehicles for bulk material transport (i.e. linens, trash, food trays).
