@DarkAids They're brothers. Dr. Light built Proto Man first, but he had some kind of terminal design flaw, so he left. Dr. Wily fixed him on the condition that he would fight Mega Man, but he learned what he was doing was wrong, so he stopped being evil. In Mega Man 5, it was a Proto Man impostor.

the first 6 robots cut guts fire ice elec and bomb mens were made by Light the only reason megaman fought them in megaman 1 was because wily reprogram them. Robots from megaman 2 and 3 were made by wily himself.
