@KingHawker96 and yes, hitler was one of the worst military commanders, and in fact does not even count as one... He just thought he was smart and took control of the Wehrmacht..
@KingHawker96 welll no.. Japan started a war with the United States, which meant that USSR could worry no more about Japanese threat to its East. And that's precisely what happened, as the Soviets moved all their troops in Siberia and Manchuria region to Germany to plug the massive hole created by the german blitzkrieg..
They were hardcore-bastards... we got -20°C (should be -4° Fahrenheit) today morning and even with winter clothes that´s awful. And those poor souls had to cope with -40°C (-40° Fahrenheit too?) and worse with improper clothes. And now imagine all of that on the steppe and what wind can do with -40°...
It´s one of the things for which the high command and Hitler really are to blame, To assume everything is done till Oct and not plan for unexpected events is pure insolence.
@genjuro88 i blame the Greeks Italians and japs for their defeat, Germany was their for them but those bastards weren't there for them in their time of need
@88KRUZE well for starts.... japan was on the other side of the world.... they could really do nothing for germany.. sec greece was never an ally of nazi germany.... in fact... hitler had in invaded to flush the british out to secure his flank for the invasion of russia... and third the italians were very unfit to take on the americans and the british.. they were still using weapons from ww1...... and forth..... hitler was not a military mastermind at all.. he should of listend to his generals
@tombuzzguy it was actually around 92,000 that were captured. about 25,000 were flown out so that means the rest had been killed or captured prior to the final surrender and the number of those who made it home was actually closer to 6000
At 4:57, are those captured Soviet tanks? they look like T34 in terms of the chasis but the turrets aren't quite T34...
