  • mmmm

  • their aint nothing like coon hunting

  • Fur prices have been bottomed out for years. Jump one out once in awhile to satisfy your dogs & leave the rest. Cleaning them all out is unnecessary and irresponsible.

  • right. there is not much money in it anymore. but you can eat them too.

i only kill a few every year. maybe 10 max. between trapping and hunting.

  • i have never killed over 3 coon a year i am glad i dont hunt around you guys before long there wont be any around you guys

  • hey where r yall hunting at i went last night in granville county and we treed 5

  • Hell yea looks some fun. TOo bad I live in fucking California and they will never let us have gun hunt or kill anything here.

Why I shot at some godamned pigeons with a pellet gun and everyone freaked out and called the pigs on me, but I told them I had no gun and no one saw my gun; And what gun? Who me? I would never do anything like that so they left but not untill they warned me that I can't even shoot a pellet gun at a fucking pigeon! This place sucks! You guys are very lucky!

  • Man you people are killing the population one coon per tree. You just knocked out 450 plus points for a later date. That could have meant the diff in a brand new truck or 20,000. Just kill one a tree man no need to slay them.

  • looks like fun i live in Canada were there no coons :(

  • yeeeehaaaa, kill them fuckin coons, i hate raccoons i hate em'. good on ya

  • what are ya doin?

    shoooootin em

    lol

    awesome video man

  • nice

  • ok good shooting!

  • good shooting but i dont like to kill coons becase in the trees they catnt move

  • i would rather get them on the ground but they are usually in trees.

even when i call them in the just sit in the tree and look at me.

  • So you kill them in the tree? because usually you take a 4-10 with quail and dove shot, and sprinkle him. He then falls from the trees and your hounds take care of him from there. but with a 22, your killing him before he even hits the ground.

  • thats the plan. do it quick.

if i use dogs i just use them to find the coons. i dont want to watch the dogs play tug-of-war with a live coon so, i just shoot them and go find more.

  • Right, people always say you have to have a good kill dog, but what the hell isn't that what the gun's for. There job is just to tree them. I don't like to watch something fightin for its life anyway.

  • @NaturesSneakySavage THATS RIGHT.........

  • @kikecaza01 theres more coons now than ever getting them in the tree is the point, we had a coon for dinner last week and it was really good.

  • i hate when they go into trees baby coons are annoying as hell

  • I have a Black Lab/Dalmation mix, and he's the best damn varmint hunting dog I've ever had. He's killed countless possums, He's gotten a ground hog, and He's gotten quite a few coons when I've been out with him. One time he dug up a boar coon, and that was the first time I had actually ever seen him in action. I tell you what, I had never been so scared for my dog. That coon got a good grip on my dog, and I ran as fast as I could to the house to get the .22, well when I got back, it was gone.

  • OOOOHHH!! RA COONS sorry wrong page!?

  • hey what do yall do with the coons eat em? or just keep the skin

  • they prolly do bothe

    coon bbq is awesome

  • i wouldnt imagine eatin one they look nasty

  • well they sell the hide!! lol

  • cool, looks like fun out there

  • Haha, delightful: I enjoyed that, thank you! :D

  • Do you use a scope? if so what kind do you use?

  • no scope. scopes are kinda hard to use at night unless you have a scope-mounted light.

  • we use scopes without scope lights we just have someone hold the light on the coon when we shoot

  • thats what i do too.

  • i use a 22 with iron sights its alright

  • what weapon do ya use?

seeing the video i think a high power PCP airrifle would be great for this work.

(try the lonestar/ techstar, at 40 fps.)

  • i use a .22

this hunt was with a marlin model 60 semi-auto

  • 40 FPS? thats gotta be a toy gun... i shoot a gamo thats 1000 FPS, and i wouldnt try taking out a coon with it

  • Nope, its not feet per second... its footpounds.

Thats a gamo times 3 in power.

Im talking 1100+ in .22 with baracuda heavy pellets. Its awesome, comparable to a .22 long rifle.

  • that would be something new to try.

airgun hunting is getting pretty big these days.

  • Yep. I know, the gvt. tryd to ban all firearms, so we just went on to develop

    those high performance airguns.

(i wonder when they will try to ban those to.)

    Check out pyramidair, reviewcentre.

  • yeah, and u can hunt coyotes 24 hrs a day as well, i think thats badass

  • all year round here too.

gives you something to do when all the other seasons are out.

  • good video, are you allowed to hunt at night though?

  • for furbearers, yes, you can hunt at night.

thats pretty much the only time a raccoon is active.

  • that shot with a sony? with night shot?

How long does it take you to skin a coon?

  • yep, its a sony.

and it only takes a couple minutes to skin one after you've skinned as many as we have.

  • Good.. why don't you skin one of those for us.. and how big are your coons? and where are you hunting?

  • well, i guess i could make a skinning video sometime.

the coons get pretty big around here. im not sure on a weight because i never weigh them.

and this video was filmed in fulton county, illinois.

  • good video did they split tree those

  • i think they were all together, the second tree was right next to the first.

  • Great video.

  • nice vid.. all though the shooter needs some practice lol...i love to here those dogs markin a tree..

  • he was using a borrowed gun but yeah, needs some practice.

and i love the sound of those dogs too.

  • Nice hunt!

  • thanks!

  • awesome video!!! did you get all 3 coons out of same tree?

  • well good cameraing!

  • cool

  • cool
