Also tab out maybe the last minuet of licks you play in the video so that I have a few licks to practice t
Could you please send me a very detailed description of how you achieve the speed and percussion that you achieve with your alternate picking technique!
I've got a question: I'm pretty new to the world of baritones and seven/eight strings, don't really know what a baritone neck feels like. How does a 26,5"or 27" baritone compare to a 25,5" scale neck? Are the lower frets even wider, or is the excess length divided between the higher ones? The reason why I'm asking this is that I've got extremely short fingers, and spreading them wide is quite a task even on a simple 25,5" neck.
Sick alternate picking technique (total Rusty Cooley style) but you should do a video on your picking technique and how you hold your pick for your alternate picking tech man I'm interested!
@TempomentalFusion I'll get to it in a few days. My fingers are pretty weak right now. I was without a guitar for 2 1/2 months while I waited for my Carvin to get built and sent out. My fingers should be back to normal by Wednesday so I'll see if I can whip up a video of my picking technique. :) Any specific things you'd like to see?

Hey thanx man xD and just a question lol, if I got a regular 8 string like an agile with a fixed bridge or a Schecter, u think the 7 gauge string could go up to E ?
does it come with like the high Ab or do u have to buy it ?? and if u have to buy it do u have to buy it separate or do u can u get it with a regular pack o strings ? lol
@BatistaStrums123 It comes with a low F#. The D'Addario .007 I used isn't expensive at all and is really easy to get, but it doesn't come in an actual set. I get all my strings from juststrings . com.
@boxmouth1 I actually shaved the neck heel down before I sold the Pendulum. It wasn't TOO bad but it's nothing you can't get used to. I never played an RGA8 so I can't make that suggestion.
What do you suggest to practice to get good at shredding? Maybe it just sounds good because you can play stuff insanely fast but I just don't know what patterns in scales to practice >:/ Either way you have insane chops an inspiration and I am subscribing
what's the white thing (near the string, on the neck ) for? already seen that ( in different colors ;D ) but i've never figured out what it was and why it was there
I used to tune my Schecter 8 string this way until I got tired of braking that high string. I used the same string as you but guess have a 25inch scale for that high string really helps out.
@coltona7x Haha thanks mate ;) I used to be pretty ignorant about music too, but after awhile you just learn to appreciate it instead of wasting time arguing.
You probably spent so much time working on your chops, and what you didn't realize is it doesn't sound good. It doesn't matter how fast you can play when what you play isn't listenable. I apologize for being harsh, but you are obviously a good guitarist, and I would like to see you write a good song.
@Tb0neZ5 It sounds fine, that's his self expression. Let it be, music is objective worry more about yourself and your own playing. I hate it when people hate on someone else's passion, he's obviously into playing the way he does so let him be, same reason Yngwie is still playing too fast, and the same reason BB King doesn't feel the need to go nuts on his gorgeous Lucielle.
damn u can shred. I'm sure i could get used to a multi-scale, but what is it like going back and forth between that and a non-multiscale? (If you do go back and forth) b/c i would like to have my 2 main guitars be a 7 string with a standard 27" scale, and a 27-28.625" fanned 8 string.
@MrCameronBarton lol i was being sarcastic, to tab out half the shit you played would take a lifetime hahaha but if your up for it all power to ya bud! ^.^
@Genoc1deP7 The actual shapes of the arpeggios change completely. I usually just do the same ones ending on the high E, but when I do the arpeggios on the high A, I only do a 3 or 8 string arp. I might actually do a Lick Of The Week video soon for the people that use a high A, since there actually isn't any that I've ever seen.
@DistortedBrain I'm actually more of a lead player than a rhythm player, and I like having the extra range up high instead of down low. Ever since I watched videos of Rusty Cooley playing on his Conklin fanned 8 string that he had tuned from low Bb to high Ab.. I never stopped wanting one.
@MrCameronBarton You are insanely good dude.. Good to know that Mistaaa Rusty effing Cooley inspired you pick this one up .. And you should totally get yourself Rusty's new RC8.. only 25 of those have been made.. and you deserve one !!!!
Hey Sick video man. You blew me away with some of that shit! I was looking into an Agile Interceptor Pro 930 MN, and I was wondering if that Pendulum had the same Cepheus pickups that the my Interceptor does. The only setback to my purchasing of the Interceptor is that I know nothing about Cepheus, and I was wondering if you could tell me what your opinion is. Any flaws? Better with Highs or lows? How well does it work with with other pedals and effects (Aside from the Podxt) Thanks a lot, man!
Hey man, sorry for commenting on all your videos xD but I'm thinking of getting this guitar, probably am, my only concern is were would you purchase strings that have the high Ab to low Bb?
Just cant say i care for the ultra low or ultra high tone. a regular 6 string E is high enough pitch and about low A is the lowest useable non rediculous pitch.
@chickenbeek To each their own I guess. I know what you mean about A being the lowest usable tone really. I DO like F# or F when it's used for more than just standard polychug, but the high Ab gives me more range for leads and arpeggios that I just don't wanna be without anymore. Some day I wanna have a guitar with the full range of an 88 key piano. :D
I can't tell what the pickups are like from a mic'd and distorted sound. Can you play them directly into an audio interface? I have been planning on picking one of these up when they have paint jobs (I hate wood). I hoped to tune from A - Ab – the 28.625" one can only do G#-G – so this video was helpful, regardless. It's awesome to see that you can bend like that at that tension. Great chops; you're a monster.
@JessyUV The pickups are awesome man. Honestly to me, these pickups sound better than anything I've heard of EMG808s. /watch?v=UjYHeOvQkZs <<That's a video for the String Insanity competition where I recorded the sound direct. The backing is done with the same guitar and I use a Pod X3 for my tones.
@MrCameronBarton Oh, I'd seen that, and, while impressive ;-), that's not what I'm talking about. I mean, plug your guitar into an audio interface (a POD will do), and record over USB/Firewire, with no effects. I used to have a PODxt, and it had some "bypass" mode, but I don't remember how that was accessed. Guitar speakers, or emulations thereof, are lowpass filters, and I'm not interested in hearing them with distortion.
What guage of strings do you use on that guitar? I usually use d'addario 10's on my 7 string. And if you don't mind me asking, how much do those Agile's run?
It takes much time to get use to it?, what about the pickups?, I mean, I love how it looks and I really want to buy one myself, but I don't know, its not cheap and I've never played an multiscale before... So, comparing with and LTD SC 608 or an Ibanez RGA8 what you can tell me man? :)
Dude I like the way u play. U kick ass. And that's the 1st I've seen that tuning. You get major high notes in there. I just started playin with 8 strings using dunlop 10-80 (10,14,20,40,52,62,72,80) down a whole step making E,A,D,G,C,F,A,D I think. Lol I gets pretty heavy wit my playing
@xWattie831x Hey thanks, dude! I'm just using a POD X3 man. Took me a while to get a good lead and rhythm tone dialed in since I was really new to it, and it has so many settings to play around with.
@UMadUJelly For sure man. I'm sure Rondo will come out with some newer and updated models sometime this year. Hopefully some new colors, more dual pickup models.. and different body woods hopefully.
hey thanks for the video, if it wasnt for you i wouldnt have found about this cool multi scale guitar, but i just can't help to wonder and ask, does this hybrid fretboard affects the key you in or the pitch of the notes, since the frets are slanted? hope i explained myself, thanks again
@mikyj139 No pitch is changed. You just tune it normally. The bass strings are tighter since the scale is extended, and the treble strings are about the same.
hey i've got a question for ya. i noticed you went for the high A instead of the low F (or i would too it to E personally) but do you know how the 27" holds as far as woobling for the low F or E on that guitar? because i have a 727 septor, great guitar for the price, but the high E snaps everytime, so i've almost eliminated hard bends in my writing, which i miss. And i notices that a multiscale fixes that so let me know what you think about the low end please as far as tension goes!
@bigbearsonparade It came with a low F#. It wasn't that great with the 74 it came with, so if you were to tune this to low E, I'd suggest getting an 80 for it, which might require some drilling of the tuner.
Wicked dude. I'm taking a long look at these Agile builds and I gotta say i'm loving the reviews (aside from the obvious flaws garnered by their being reasonably priced - frets, tuners, etc.). As a newbie to 8 string, what ultimately made you want to play multi-scale? I mean, is it something I can only wrap my head around if I try one? As it is, going to 8 seems... logical, but is there a specific benefit? Is it solely individual feel? You're reaching and hitting solid at a good gallop.
Does it take much getting use to the multi scale neck? For example if you're playing a scale from the lower pitched strings to the higher does the decrease in stretch feel awkward? At any point did your pinky ever over reach as you ascended to the higher notes by accident when you'd play through a scale?Hope all that made since:)
@shagfish It takes a few minutes to get used to it. The stretches aren't much different at all. The only thing I've done that was actually pretty lulzy, was when I was flying up to the higher register, my pinky was playing the non existent 25th fret haha.
@Falling2Grey29 It came stock with a low F#. Honestly dude, $900 for a fanned fret 8 string is DAMN cheap considering if you got one custom made (pretty much the only other way you'll get one) it'll cost you in excess of $2000.
@MrCameronBarton Was it a pain in the ass changing the strings from the stock set up to the current set-up? And $900 is a little steep for my first 8 string with no concrete band to play with.
@Falling2Grey29 Not at all. It was just like an ordinary string change. Yeah I hear ya. I've just always wanted a fanned 8 string and I just write some stuff on my own and have friends do drums/bass. I see where you're coming from though.
@MrCameronBarton How are the p'ups? Is there a big difference in tone between them? I know they're actives and all, but I know nothing about them. Would it be worth paying another $100 for the extra pickup route?
@Falling2Grey29 I love these pickups man. Nice and hot without being muddy. The only pickups without going custom that will fit in these routs, are 6 string bass emgs, and 6 string bass q tuners.
@MrCameronBarton Sorry, my bad with the question...Is it worth it to get the neck pick-up as well as the bridge, or should I save the $100 and just get the guitar with the bridge pick up?
@Falling2Grey29 Oh! It's definitely worth getting the dual pickup model. Paying to put another pickup in would cost 2-300 considering you'd need the pickup, pickup switch, extra wiring, and the labor it would be to rout.

I DO like F# or F when it's used for more than just standard polychug, but the high Ab gives me more range for leads and arpeggios that I just don't wanna be without anymore. Some day I wanna have a guitar with the full range of an 88 key piano. :D
MrCameronBarton 8 months ago
@chickenbeek Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Ceejay1523 8 months ago
@Ceejay1523 They should be back in stock in few months man. Hopefully with some new models. I want one with a maple fretboard.
MrCameronBarton 8 months ago
I can't tell what the pickups are like from a mic'd and distorted sound. Can you play them directly into an audio interface? I have been planning on picking one of these up when they have paint jobs (I hate wood). I hoped to tune from A - Ab – the 28.625" one can only do G#-G – so this video was helpful, regardless. It's awesome to see that you can bend like that at that tension. Great chops; you're a monster.
JessyUV 8 months ago
@JessyUV The pickups are awesome man. Honestly to me, these pickups sound better than anything I've heard of EMG808s. /watch?v=UjYHeOvQkZs <<That's a video for the String Insanity competition where I recorded the sound direct. The backing is done with the same guitar and I use a Pod X3 for my tones.
MrCameronBarton 8 months ago
@MrCameronBarton Oh, I'd seen that, and, while impressive ;-), that's not what I'm talking about. I mean, plug your guitar into an audio interface (a POD will do), and record over USB/Firewire, with no effects. I used to have a PODxt, and it had some "bypass" mode, but I don't remember how that was accessed. Guitar speakers, or emulations thereof, are lowpass filters, and I'm not interested in hearing them with distortion.

MrCameronBarton 7 months ago
What guage of strings do you use on that guitar? I usually use d'addario 10's on my 7 string. And if you don't mind me asking, how much do those Agile's run?
BartholomeauxJames 8 months ago
It takes much time to get use to it?, what about the pickups?, I mean, I love how it looks and I really want to buy one myself, but I don't know, its not cheap and I've never played an multiscale before... So, comparing with and LTD SC 608 or an Ibanez RGA8 what you can tell me man? :)
TheCommonDelusion 8 months ago
Dude I like the way u play. U kick ass. And that's the 1st I've seen that tuning. You get major high notes in there. I just started playin with 8 strings using dunlop 10-80 (10,14,20,40,52,62,72,80) down a whole step making E,A,D,G,C,F,A,D I think. Lol I gets pretty heavy wit my playing
The8thGateofDestiny 9 months ago
is it weird to play chords on that?

xWattie831x 9 months ago
@xWattie831x Hey thanks, dude! I'm just using a POD X3 man. Took me a while to get a good lead and rhythm tone dialed in since I was really new to it, and it has so many settings to play around with.
MrCameronBarton 9 months ago
So fucking sexy mate. Id love to get the 7 with the trem. I just wish they had a neck pickup
UMadUJelly 9 months ago
@UMadUJelly For sure man. I'm sure Rondo will come out with some newer and updated models sometime this year. Hopefully some new colors, more dual pickup models.. and different body woods hopefully.

I'm getting a pendulum 8. That is an impressive guitar. sounds good.
7REDDRACO7 9 months ago
hey thanks for the video, if it wasnt for you i wouldnt have found about this cool multi scale guitar, but i just can't help to wonder and ask, does this hybrid fretboard affects the key you in or the pitch of the notes, since the frets are slanted? hope i explained myself, thanks again
mikyj139 9 months ago
@mikyj139 No pitch is changed. You just tune it normally. The bass strings are tighter since the scale is extended, and the treble strings are about the same.
MrCameronBarton 9 months ago
i want the same guitar.....so badly...
tabotabojayar 9 months ago
Hay Man, Nice vid. I have been looking for a Agile Pendulum 8 but I cant find one. Did you get yours form rondo music?

codyjay23 10 months ago
hey i've got a question for ya. i noticed you went for the high A instead of the low F (or i would too it to E personally) but do you know how the 27" holds as far as woobling for the low F or E on that guitar? because i have a 727 septor, great guitar for the price, but the high E snaps everytime, so i've almost eliminated hard bends in my writing, which i miss. And i notices that a multiscale fixes that so let me know what you think about the low end please as far as tension goes!
bigbearsonparade 10 months ago
@bigbearsonparade It came with a low F#. It wasn't that great with the 74 it came with, so if you were to tune this to low E, I'd suggest getting an 80 for it, which might require some drilling of the tuner.
MrCameronBarton 10 months ago
@MrCameronBarton no i understand that, i'm asking if the 27" makes an E taut enough. thanks for the advice though
bigbearsonparade 10 months ago
@bigbearsonparade It should with a big enough string.

Er, I mean i'm a newbie, and er... well, yeah. Too excited! NEED 8 STRING!
luktinsen 10 months ago
Wicked dude. I'm taking a long look at these Agile builds and I gotta say i'm loving the reviews (aside from the obvious flaws garnered by their being reasonably priced - frets, tuners, etc.). As a newbie to 8 string, what ultimately made you want to play multi-scale? I mean, is it something I can only wrap my head around if I try one? As it is, going to 8 seems... logical, but is there a specific benefit? Is it solely individual feel? You're reaching and hitting solid at a good gallop.
luktinsen 10 months ago
holy crap was that all improvised?!?!?! that sounded sick!

@V8EATR I blocked him but I'm not removing his comments. It shows how much of an immature prick he is, which is REALLY bad for his "image".
MrCameronBarton 10 months ago
Does it take much getting use to the multi scale neck? For example if you're playing a scale from the lower pitched strings to the higher does the decrease in stretch feel awkward? At any point did your pinky ever over reach as you ascended to the higher notes by accident when you'd play through a scale?Hope all that made since:)
shagfish 11 months ago
@shagfish It takes a few minutes to get used to it. The stretches aren't much different at all. The only thing I've done that was actually pretty lulzy, was when I was flying up to the higher register, my pinky was playing the non existent 25th fret haha.
MrCameronBarton 11 months ago
@MrCameronBarton Thanks and awesome playing by the way!

UMadUJelly 11 months ago
Did your guitar come stock as F#-B-E, etc., or does it come stock as B-E-...A?
Also, I want this guitar. The fanned frets like they'd be super comfortable. Too bad its crazy expensive.
Falling2Grey29 11 months ago
@Falling2Grey29 It came stock with a low F#. Honestly dude, $900 for a fanned fret 8 string is DAMN cheap considering if you got one custom made (pretty much the only other way you'll get one) it'll cost you in excess of $2000.
MrCameronBarton 11 months ago
@MrCameronBarton Was it a pain in the ass changing the strings from the stock set up to the current set-up? And $900 is a little steep for my first 8 string with no concrete band to play with.
Falling2Grey29 11 months ago
@Falling2Grey29 Not at all. It was just like an ordinary string change. Yeah I hear ya. I've just always wanted a fanned 8 string and I just write some stuff on my own and have friends do drums/bass. I see where you're coming from though.
MrCameronBarton 11 months ago
@MrCameronBarton Being 17 doesnt help either =P Im assuming you were always awesome, like before you got your 8?
Falling2Grey29 11 months ago
@Falling2Grey29 Son, I was born awesome. I wake up in the morning and piss excellence! Hahahaha jk.
MrCameronBarton 11 months ago
@MrCameronBarton How are the p'ups? Is there a big difference in tone between them? I know they're actives and all, but I know nothing about them. Would it be worth paying another $100 for the extra pickup route?
Falling2Grey29 11 months ago
@Falling2Grey29 I love these pickups man. Nice and hot without being muddy. The only pickups without going custom that will fit in these routs, are 6 string bass emgs, and 6 string bass q tuners.
MrCameronBarton 11 months ago
@MrCameronBarton Sorry, my bad with the question...Is it worth it to get the neck pick-up as well as the bridge, or should I save the $100 and just get the guitar with the bridge pick up?
Falling2Grey29 11 months ago
@Falling2Grey29 Oh! It's definitely worth getting the dual pickup model. Paying to put another pickup in would cost 2-300 considering you'd need the pickup, pickup switch, extra wiring, and the labor it would be to rout.
MrCameronBarton 11 months ago
@MrCameronBarton Ok, thanks a lot. You awesome for replying so fast
Falling2Grey29 11 months ago
@Falling2Grey29 No problem dude!
