i think kucinich is a brave man...but i hate that he keeps bringing up FDR...FDR knew about and exploited pearl harbor to get us into war, just like bush with 9-11, he eviscerated the constitution with the war powers act (among other things), stole the american people's gold and left us with the worthless debased inflated paper money we have today and brought us closer to state socialism with his new deal (which *didn't* end the depression, by the way) than any other president. bad example.

First, the War Powers Act was a congressional initiative to curb the powers of the presidency after the Johnson and Nixon admistrations' excesses in Vietnam, unrelated to FDR. Second, we've never had state socialism in America, not even close. Kooch invokes FDR's Keynesian economic and social policy b/c it actually did save America after the depression, along w/the boost to the economy from the war.
