@fourcups123 Fortunately, that's the moment the ladies will sing "shut yo mouth" and we'll all be reminded that president's the guy who "won't cop out when there's danger all about" as evidenced by the fact that Bin laden currently sleeps with the fishes.
Remember the first time seeing this film on the big screen. The sounds of New York City, the people yelling in the streets, the car horns beeping, then coming from the subway among all the confusion was the solitary figure of a black man who stood out from the crowd. It was as if everyone else in the city disappeared. That was one of the finest openings ever for a movie.
All the love and respect to Isaac (RIP), but this version is from the remake from the Samuel L. Jackson movie made in 2000. It's just a little tiny bit faster. The character of this guitar is different, it's too clean sounding. Charles Pitts' original wah-wah had some more overdriven grittiness to it. (Yes, I'm a guitar player... I've also worn out several copies of the original vinyl LP.)
@reggie44 Yeah, I was turned off a bit to this version, also. It just isn't the real Shaft, shut yo' mouth song. They took all of the Uptown vibe out of it. Funny that LP's are back in style now, isn't it? lol Peace, man.
He's a complicated man but no one understands him but his woman. Classic and that's the truth of men. That song made want to run into the street and dance it was so kickin.
I never realized i was living in a time when music was so frickin HOT, that even todays younger generations love it! MAN, i thank heaven for youtube, and the internet so i can re-live it all over again!!
I practically grew up with this 4album set, played just about every day, this was my mom's relaxation music when she came home from teaching school in Queens , NY... SHAFT!!! You Damn Rigt!!!! LOVE YOU MOMMA(RIP)
I like ISSAIC HAYES / he did a nice job on this tune and lucked up on an OSCAR / but let me remind you the BEST SELLING MOVIE SOUNDTRACK OF ALL TIME is "PURPLE RAIN" / the movie all the critics didn't gives chance in hell / a lotta theaters didn't show the movie and missed a ton of money / almost everybody went to see it 2 or more times
@druhbe1996 actually, The Bodyguard now holds the title of the Best Selling Movie Soundtrack of all time. It was a question on 101 Ways to Leave A Game Show on ABC. LOL
The best song of all time, thanks Maestro Isaac Hayes, that God delights in peace. And thank you very much for all the great music that you did. Thank you.
