  • Check out "Les Surfs - T'en Vas Pas Comme Ca" for a "Sweet French Hot Chocolate" version of this great oldy. I love them both.

  • I've seen her in concert and she had no background singers and no gimmicks. She was amazing. I was captivated!

  • what is good is born ready!

  • back in the day, we never compare artists. we accept them for what they brought to the table. You never would have a conversation that compares artist with another. That's the consequence of this generation. they can't seem to accept the artist for themselves.

  • Fabulous

  • All great singers are unique very different sounds..I love them all..Great post..Thank u..

  • Oh God! I would kill to see this great singer in concert. She is like no other.

  • @jimmie200 I did see her...she was not that powerful....

  • @SuperAmerico74 What do you mean powerful???? Does a singer have to scream like Aretha Franklin for her to be called powerful??? Dionne Warwick has her own styleand range, and she doesn't have to scream her blood out of her veins to deliver a good performance.... Check out her version of 'All is Fair In love' and if it didn't blow you away, settle for Lady Gaga instead!

  • One of my biggest pet peeves is when people compare one singer to another. For example, one of my friends is always saying that "Dionne is not half the singer that Aretha Franklin is..." To which I always respond: "They're very different!" Besides, how can anyone not hear, feel, and appreciate Dionne's exquisite (even delicate) vocal tone. Every time I listen to Dionne I am transported to another place and time. And it's her uniquely beautiful voice that does that!

  • Beautifully sung! In my opinion, this version is even better than the original recording--it's sung with more feeling. Wow! Not only did this girl have one of the most gorgeous voices, but she looks fabulous in that dress! She was built like a model.

  • iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii llllllllove this ...!

  • Mommy you did your best. I understand now.

  • There is only one Dionne. Nobody sounds like her. Ever.

  • Musica Maravilhosa!

  • Classic!

  • damn, ms. dionne had a really nice figure on her. oh! love the song too.

  • love to you

  • nice version

  • Maravilhosa ! Dionne Warwick !

  • Incomparable!

  • Id never seen her sing this Live!! Wonderful.

    I Love Her Over-bite!

  • Oh my God! She has a visible fluff.

It was a shame those people who worked for her didn't take that away.

  • I love this version! Please check out the Shirley and Johnny 1969 version on YouTube.

  • Dionée warwick

  • Dionne, você é uma maldita, mas eu te adoro. <3

  • Spoke with a fellow songwriter/artist from Dionne's era who said she

was little more than a scrawny girl with bad skin and a few other negative

    observations.

Got to say I think he was high.

  • @mrjoshjones1 Well having been around plenty of entertainers for plenty of years, he's probably right. I know Dionne was arrested at least once for drug possession. What the public sees is nothing more than creations. The way the celebs look, speak, act, dress, etc. are all being directed someone.

  • @MsNayners24 nah, I think HE was high,not Dionne!!!!

Nothing but respect for Ms Warwick, the #1 Pop Singer in America in the late 60's, she set the bar so high

(pardon the pun), few in Pop (outside of R & B) could ever come close.

  • @mrjoshjones1 Oh I definitely love her and her singing. But it's (at times) unbelievable the drug use that's rampant in entertainment. Not in one particular genre, but across the board.

  • wow didnt know Sybil stole this from Dionne :-o

  • Hey to all you Dionne Warwick fans! Just wanted to let you know that Dionne created a set of animated ecards exclusively for DoozyCards. Send them to your friends and family!

  • Someone said Dionne didn't have competition in the 60's and that it not right. There were other great singers then- Dusty Springfield, Shirley Bassey, Ronnie Spector, Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin, Mary Wells, Connie Francis, Etta James, Jackie DeShannon, Janis Joplin, Tina Turner, Darlene Love, even La Streisand.....

  • I love these early live performances by Dionne! Check out Walk On By too. She sings so effortlessly and these are very hard songs to sing. What an amazing talent - and the team of Bacharach and Warrick was hot damn!

  • What an amazing voice!

  • I can honestly say that I love her live performances of this song more than the recorded version and the recorded version is FANTASTIC! She sings so effortlessly. No autotune or studio enhancements needed here. Just pure, soulful, and amazing singing by the one and only Miss. Dionne Warwick!

  • oh my goooood! dionne is number one.

  • It just occurred to me that dionne and Freddie Mercury has the same mouth. It's not really a knock, they both are great vocalists. Just sayin...

  • Much better than Born this Way...if you get my drift.

  • please, please. don't mention lady gaga when this woman is singing. Dionne is a singer. lady gaga is kind of circus sideshow

  • @macky70s very well put!!! Thanks.

  • @macky70s Well put!

  • Before I was born, but I love this song so much - timeless...

  • Great lyrics.

  • que m<sica linda!!!

  • Looks like a Lady Gaga stage set. Nothing is new.

  • Damn, that's a lot of woman

  • WHAT A FACE! WHAT A VOICE! BEAUTIFUL! THANKS FOR YOUR GIFTS TO US ALL!

  • Lovin' the whole look. You see, Halle WASN'T the first one to rock the short and sassy look!

  • Miss Warwick is the REAL DEAL. Whitney may be looking more and more like Ms. Warwick as the years go on, but that's where the similarities end. You will NEVER mistake Dionne's voice with anyone else's. It's signature...

  • One of the all time greatest voices ! Wow ! There are not singers like this anymore !

  • At first I thought that was her moving like Max Headroom but then I realized it was the tape flaw

  • This song is amazing!

  • How about masterpiece! Perfect soul/pop! Still my fave Dionne record.

  • @mark237: Dionne is not Whitney's aunt....she is her first cousin. Their mothers are sisters. Only because there is such a big age gap between them people ofthen make that assumption. I grew up down the street from WH long before she was famous and before we moved away i used to go to New Hope Baptist Church with them back in the day and she cleared that up for me back then.

  • Dionne Warwick is Whitney Houston's aunt. You see where she got her talent.

  • I just love this woman's voice.....she was a true lady in every sense of the word.

  • @READY4REVELATION

I second that emotion! Not only a gifted singer but a truly classy lady.

  • SHE IS THE WOMAN!.THANKYOU

  • Beautiful the that comes to mind wen I here this is pretty

  • NO ONE COMPARES TO THE QUEEN OF SONG...LONG LIVE QUEEN DIONNE~

  • OF course I love Dionne Warwick! Whitney Houston is gone in drugs! I have been to a concert with Whitney, and i can tell you, it was shit! Dionne is beautiful and she have an amazing voice!!

  • Pure class-I wish we could bottle this and force all the rapper tramps to drink this gold.

  • nothing ever again like Dionne and Burt

  • after seeing her in Celebrity apprentice ......

  • She delivered a song with sincerity and beauty, I am sorry that she was so bitter on Celebtrity Apprentice, it was as though she had a huge chip on her shoulder's, I will always love you.

  • @bransonbelle Not bitter, tough! How do you think a Black woman who started out in this business during Jim Crow era lasted so long and became so successful? It was tough on women in general but a double whammy for Black women.

  • please people, if you have to sing a song, please sing it like this, superb xx

  • es unicamente la mejor de ttodas las vocalistas!! xD que he escuchado amis 20 años de edad mas grande que la basura de hoy!! ... :)

  • love her look--hair and eyes are fab.

  • Love dionne warwick. Dont care what no one says

  • @happyfeetxxo She is wearing braces, they didn't have invisiline back then, and the picture quality is distorted. I say good for her, that she would still appear on TV while going through that, most celebs would hide till it was done.

  • what a figure

  • in the top ten of my 100 songs in my top ten

  • I love this song.

    I love you Dionne.

  • so what? donald is an asshole, but that is ok because he is a man, a white man. I hate that double standard type of thinking. Why can't women be cunts? Yet men are allowed to be arrogant pricks and that's fine? Stop it.

  • Dat Jaw.

  • The greatest of smoothness, and the newest Celebrity Apprentice!

  • One of the finest female vocalist in my time, She had incredible power and range just magnificent. and unique elegance.

  • love it!!

  • very nice!

  • Gran cantante y gran canción

  • Beautiful song...memories of innocent times...and ways.

  • elle est vraiment adorable ,on la sent intimidée

  • Great song, Burt Bachrach was a genius!

  • Dadgum, she's really rockin that black dress.

  • just think Whitney was only 3 when this happened

  • This live version is the BEST by far. The phrasing is more subtle, and since there is no backup chorus (as on the original) her voice is even more personal.

  • quelle voix magnifique saphault

  • Damn! Who is Rihanna? ;P

  • This couldn't have been 1967!

This has to have been released 1964 at lease!

I was in NAM in 67! So that just can't be right!

Anyone Who Had a Heart seems to me like 1962, not 1964!

My memory can't be that far off!

  • One of the greatest singers ever. Burt Bacharac had her sing just about ever great song he wrote. She studied music in college. She had her own style and pure talent. Used to have a lot of her records..

  • Dionne was one of the greatest singers of all time.

  • ¡ E X C E L E N T E !

  • Sounds a lot like Dylan's "Lay, Lady, Lady," doesn't it?

  • Look at the style, class, grace, sophistication, beauty and talent. Dionne was and is one of the Greatest. She is a Living Legend.

  • @laarbe AMEN!!! The so called "artists" of today cannot hold a candle to this lady!!! She's Queen of Solid Gold.

  • God, she is beautiful.

  • GRANDE DIONNE MERCI

  • Gee, 1967 was just a few days ago.

  • @rogerrrubin I know...I can't believe we're in the next century already...WOW!

  • No one will ever be as good as Dionne x

  • Wow..amazing cut. So glad to see this. Thanks for posting.

  • Sorry Dionne was in a different stratosphere, technically Whitney has a great voice but no soul, like most RnB singers today. Also... Dionne was one stylish lady!

  • Yes these R&B singers of today have lost their soul.

  • @deep71483 i'd agree...but i felt soul on amy winehouse's back to black record...and as far as live performances...i felt a whole lot of soul from fantasia barrino's live performance of collard greens and cornbread on idol this year.

  • @motekhall Well, they both could do things that no one else at they times could do. Dionne had NO competition in the 60s but neither did Whitney in the 80s

  • @motekhall whitney has no soul? ur crazy for real.

  • @motekhall funny that ur comparing cousins lol a lot of whitneys family members were singers her mother dionne warwick and i believe another one of her cousins all were trained singers very good voices :)

  • @motekhall Crackheads have no soul

  • @motekhall whitney have lots soul and fantasia mary j blidge, vivian green etc etc..are u kidding me or ahve you not listen to today music..stop listening to the radio because they play crap and actually go to live performance sbecause there are great young singers/ writers with soul, voices and class..

  • @motekhall Yes! Ethereal.

  • @motekhall I must agree. Whitney has an excellent set of pipes (well, used to anyway), but Dionne's vocals have feeling.

  • Except me for what I am, except me for what I do.

  • @eddieg671 Eddie, that's ACCEPT me for what I am...

  • @eddieg671 That would be "ACCEPT" bro.

  • Glee is definitely good for rediscovering the good old music. I've always been a fan of music from the 60's and 70's and this one is a classic i didn't know of yet. Thank you Glee! And thank you miss Dionne ;-)

  • even in this video her boobs smaall but beautiful are still better than victoria beckham;s

  • Brilliant song, brilliant singer.

  • I heard this song about 18 months ago and couldn't get it out of my head; was unsure who sung it etc. Then I put sound hound on my android - hummed the catch line and hey presto, up it came.

Still obsessed by the haunting quality of her voice.

    Thanks for posting.

  • Great music, great era, I remember it well. Oiyyyyyyyyyyyyyy I is gettin old. lol

  • Dionne is simply beautiful here.

    Voice and all!

  • black power..............

  • je découvre dionne ,belle femme,et superbe chanteuse !

  • One of the all time greats in the music world. What this woman put up with to preform her art.

  • Beautiful interpretation and wonderful song. Grazie

  • I had goose bumps just listening to this song! Wow !

  • Mmmmmmmmmmmm just one kiss weeeeeeeeeeeeeee :)

  • Dionne sounds great and I remember her when I was a kid watching her on the rock 'n roll shows. Her teeth was always a wreck back then and she had major work on them during her tv appearances but she kept on trucking. I can see Whitney in her when Whitney was a young girl just soaring with her song How Do I Know. Its called FAMILY BLOOD.

  • @mirv10: what the hell are you talking about? Whitney reach mega star status before Bobby came into the picture. I think you need to do your homework on that comment. Whitney is THE MOST AWARDED female singer in history. Go check it out for yourself. Just because Whitney got hooked on drugs does not mean she wasn't great within her own right.

  • I'm speechless...except to say....this is priceless !!!!

  • This one is super old vid but it is still good... Nice... Loved the song...

  • I was so born during the wrong era....

  • @FroStoppa we all were

  • Her first big hit in 1962

  • class !!!

  • bellisimaaaaaaaaa!!!!

  • thats the kind of looke that make me believe a lotte of africans are also asians

  • one of favorite by the lady. cissy houston's niece. when she and burt teamed up, the world was blessed.

  • Such a distinct vocal style...

  • just take it enough.

  • my heart flips!

  • most of her songs were hard to sing, she made it look easy

  • Thanks. This has always been one of my favorites.

  • As well as a great voice the lady had class and style . . . not like todays vocalists.

  • swinging blue jeans

  • I love her and her music but her overbite is so DISTRACTING

  • @cdw0205 I think her overbite contributed to her tremendous beauty! she had "the looks" long before the extreme makeovers by hollywood cosmetic surgical doctors!

  • @grenadian11 ,,,,agreed. Actually call me strange but I find overbites sexy when the teeth are extremely healthy!

  • @cdw0205 you may not realize it, but she is wearing braces in this video. The quality of the video is poor, so it looks as though it maybe her teeth. Still, it can be distracting, But props to her for not being self concisous about appearing on TV with a mouth full of braces.

  • A rare true original artist that has enriched us with her music.....thank you MS Warwick.

  • Dionne the best..Love ya girl...the first time i saw Dionne was at the Bklyn Fox in Brooklyn NY back in Dec. 62..

  • Thank you. Historical value!....one of my all time favs. this song was one of the bombs that year when i was a college white boy dating my future black wife. memories abound!

  • Heavens to Professor Higgins! That was young & handsome Noel Harrison who introduces the lovely & talented Dionne at the beginning of the clip! Noel I suppose is best known to American audiences for being the co-star on the 60's spy TV show "The Girl from UNCLE", opposite the beautiful & sexy Stephanie Powers. THANKS for posting this cool clip! I've always adored this 60's tune!

  • Sublime. Thanks for posting!!!

  • she sang some great songs writtebn by great writers she was dynamic

  • Love this song from back then.Dionne Warwick made beautiful music out of Burt Bachrach's material. Trivia: the guy introducing her is Noel Harrison, son of Rex Harrison and Rex's first wife.

  • Great song, amazing voice!

  • I love Dionne Warwick, she and Nancy Wilson both. I used to watch Solid Gold religiously, but when she started do that Psychic Friends bullshit, I would get down on my knees "and say a little prayer for her."

  • @kalimaganeshshivan I forgot Deonne did psychic friends....thanks for reminding me. It didn't work for her either.

  • Love this Dionne song. I think it's second only to "Yours" Any chance of a video of that?

  • Comment removed

  • YES..!!! YES..!!! .......YES..!!!!

  • Wow such a classic. Burt Bacarach (sp) was such an awesome song writer. Dionne and Burt was like peanut butter and jelly. Just go greatly together.

  • It's the Coca not Bobby.

  • @fdlkfoo Bobby did introduce her to crack, but she already had an addictive personality and she should have tried to receive help on her own instead of playing the blame game and hanging out with vacuous sycophants.

  • @kalimaganeshshivan

I agree. Whitney was an adult and made her own choices, just as Bobby made his. And even though his career never reached the heights that hers did, I don't think that Whitney did his career *any* favours whatsoever. (Their duet was terrible...) Let's just say that they were mutually bad for each other and leave it at that.

Back to the matter at hand - Dionne was and is a strikingly beautiful woman, overbite or not. And her singing here is beautiful and effortless.

  • legendary diva, i think she don't get enough credit for what she does!!
