yes please mister roman, if you could answer this question , the one who noticed this was my father , who has practiced this etude for years evrey day,..so?im a violinist and i know this etude by heart ...i mean no disrespect. you are a fantastic musician but , is he right or not?
Great Job. I dont know how old you are, but by the looks of it, you are extremely talented beyond your years. Keep up the fantastic work. It doesnt take a genius to see that you got it kid. Not just the skill, and the chops, but the soul. You know how to speak your mind through your playing. Anyways, enjoyed the video. From one cellist to another, that etude is no walk in the park. :)
I'm playing this for my college auditions in February and I have to say this is truly inspiring. It was awesome :) If I can get it even close to that speed they better not reject me! lol :) But seriously, that was really great. Kudos :)
Maybe I'm just a chicken, but I bet this is just as nerve racking as all the concerto premieres you've been doing lately, if not more so! Phew, you're doing awesome though and inspiring tons of players out there in the youtube world, including me. Thanks, Joshua!
The Oklahoman violist you met at YTSO. Keep it up!
Im nobody to criticize mister Joshua Roman he's one of the best cellist of our time and im sorry to point this out but .....isn't he missing the last two beats of bar 59 ?
well, my dear friend i'm not judje or jury 0.51 it's ok but don't be so hard on yourself just learn from him: don't forget to check the book from time to time......i've learned it........ the hard way, belive me...
Well, honestly i have not seen the baerenreiter edition, but i dont think editors make diferences of half a bar... i mean ... its 8 semiquavers missing here.... or is the baerenreiter edition half a bar shorter than all the other ones ? is the bar no.59 in 2/4 while the whole etude is in 4/4 ? please forgive me if my answer is rude i have no intetion to be disrespectful just tryng to make my point. ok?
@euryanteus Oh, stop acting like you're inferior. There are lots of cellists this good. God, I wish people would stop with all this worshiping bullshit.
I love how cleanly you play these etudes. I'm a cellist and know that many of them are far from easy! This is a great idea, and is motivating me to work up my Popper!
How do you play that fast at the bottom of the bow!!? I sound all sticky and scratchy if I do that.

Well even the masters make mistakes, plus the performance was unedited and from memory.

have you considered that he might be using a different edition than you? for example, there are many small differences in the baerenreiter edition.
