I still don't understand how cloud did that. How did he survive that blow and still throw Sephiroth off the balcony? Someone tried to tell me that this event never actually happened, but obviously it did. He tried to tell me that this was all in Cloud's head. Seems like it actually took place.

I would understand Cloud, Sephiroth hurt 2 of his friends, killed very many of Nibelheim, burnt down Nibelheim and so on. If I were Cloud, no matter how scared I would be, I would have ran after him in the rage of vengeance and hate.

Hold up now, Cloud was level 1 in this cutscene, and the Buster Sword had like 18 attack power. Cloud couldn't have done more than 14 points damage to Sephiroths 3000 something, so how is Sephiroth so injured??

Honestly, Cloud is such an amazing character, as much as Zack if not more so. Consider; the boy is 15 years old and without hesitation tries to cut down his mentor, his reason for joining SOLDIER, because he knew it had to be done to protect innocent people. When Sephiroth freakishly survives, he still charges him again. When he's brutally stabbed through the chest, he still doesn't give up, fighting with all he's got. He continues this throughout the series, but all I hear is 'He's emo!' WHAT?!

@thychaos Probably just some story inconsistency. Stuff they hadn't thought of before making another part of the story. Take Star Wars, for example. I'm almost convinced that George Lucas didn't even decide to make Luke and Leia brother and sister until he started writing Return of the Jedi, especially since Leia (who had given Luke a smooch in The Empire Strikes Back) ended up saying, "Somehow I've always known." XD But who knows? Maybe the guy has a thing for...sibling romance...

Cloud is a lv 1 guardsman, killed a dime a dozen in the very first cutscene by Zack, while Sephiroth is around level 100, an a battle hero to an entire nation, and was able to fight both Genesis and what'shisname (mindblank) at once. What was Zack THINKING?
