This version is sung by Ray Pilgrim. The 45rpm version released in '66 by Columbia UK was sung by Boz Burrell, who eventually became the bassist for 70s bands King Crimson and Bad Company. I personally prefer Burrell's version and have posted it here on YouTube.
@twinny1988 It was recorded by Ray Pilgrim. He gave up singing after he gained his degree but came out of "retirement" at literally a day's notice to record his very last session in April 1966 - the theme song for the movie Carry On Screaming!.

There were these films also in Germany. Here one called them: "Is crazy". Carry On - Screaming was called here:"Is crazy - Alarm in the Horrorhouse". I have seen this very much with pleasure.
one of the best carry ons, you cant watch this thinking you are about to watch a horror film because it seems a bit of a send up of hammer horror movies lol, but its a great classic romp of madness.
Culled from IMDb... "Although a vocal version of the theme sung by Boz Burrell was released as a single in the UK, many people believed the uncredited singer of the theme song was Jim Dale. However it was actually performed in the movie by Ray Pilgrim, a session singer for the Woolworths-owned Embassy label..."
Ray's got a sort-of Cliff Richard voice - excellent !!

@CoolBoysBackYard
Probably a bit saucier knowing Sid lol - who do you think Sid would've been in the film? I dunno really if he'd fit any of these characters...

Further clarification on who sang the Screaming theme song.
1. Eric Rogers was musical director for the CarryOn's which is why his name is on the CD and iTunes. But he wasn't a singer and didn't sing it.
2. A page on website raypilgrim.co.uk tells how it came to be recorded by Ray Pigrim
Pilgrim was on of The Typhoons on YouTube video The Embassy Beatles Covers

The guy who actually sung as the movie theme song over the credits was Ray Pilgrim.
BritRecs1 1 year ago
The movie credits say the song was sung by "Anon"
It was NOT sung by Boz Burrell (although he did a different recording of it which was NOT used for the film).
And it was NOT sung by Jim Dale who never ever sang it.
It WAS actually sung as the movie theme song over the credits by Ray Pilgrim.

this film is awesome to watch, but is it just me or does it remind anyone else of the Addams family?
Especially the Lurch like Butler and (Fenella Fielding's character) Valeria Watt 'smoking' like Morticia.
Alot of similarities, even the huge haunted looking mansion.

Oh, I just barely remember this. The thing that most stuck with me was I think the Frankenstein Monster-type was called "Odd Bod".
My favorite above this one was "Carry On, Sergeant", with a deeply-put-upon Bill Hartnell character.
