i live in LA, one night my best friend and i drove to SD for this chocolate mousse chesecake she wanted we got there and the restaurant had closed down for good on our way back home we stopped at Denny's and i ordered the breakfast DAGWOOD when the waitress informed me that it was discontinued. The saddest day in both my best friend and my life to this day im trying to make that cheesecake for her and find the right bread to make the dagwood :(
I worked at dennys back when they served it. You have no idea how many truck drivers ordered it in the middle of the night. i LOVED that sandwhich. best thing on the menu to me. the calorie excuse is stupid. for one, the sampler has more calories, and two ITS MY BODY LEAVE ME ALONE DONT EAT IT YOURSELF IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM!
that was my drunk food...as if beer and cocktals weren't enuf calories. i was so sad when i ordered it w/o looking at the menu and was told "I'm sorry we no longer carry that item" :(

It was such an awesome sandwich, I found out last november when I went to the US that it was no longer on the menu, I almost cried.

I still miss the sandwich every now and then. I used to get it minus the cheese and add raw onion though. Mmmmm.... so good!
