  • hahaha Christians...HAHAHAHAHAHAHA OH MY STOMACH HURTS!!!!!

  • @shelbyfanman Exceptionally well-stated for an 8-year old. Have you nothing more to add, or are you fine with mindless, self-masturbatory trolling? Also, FYI, all block caps posts are always the sign of an insecure douchebag.

  • no way dustin would not support this at all! you guys call yourself true fans! wtf

  • lord i am in your debt and will forever follow your wisdom see ya topside one day :)

  • this is like poetry

  • Job incredibly well done!

  • actually 2nd chorus

  • Thank you Jesus.

  • All you can do is pray for unbelievers that the Holy Spirit will enter they're hearts according to the will of the Lord!

  • I'm an atheist but love this song and actually enjoyed the video. Its possible to put beliefs or lack of aside and be able to enjoy something based on it's story, music, or art. And if you're a fan of Thrice, isn't that what its about anyways?

  • @theluscioussound and you should love this song, Thrice is incredibly talented, not to mention the incredible vernacular and word construction of Kensrue. I do appreciate your emphasis on enjoying together, unfortunately as believers in Christ these are not just stories but truths. I do not expect an unbeliever to be penetrated by that idea, only the Holy Spirit can move to convict anyone of truth and sin. I loved Thrice before accepting Christ and appreciate them so much more with Biblical

  • @theluscioussound context. If you are not familiar, in strongly encourage a look, it makes Kensrue's lyrics so much more mind blowing. Christians: remember what your King did on Calvary, show some love and grace. You are not living on mission or spreading the gospel by beating people with truth they cannot accept. Is Christ at the center of these comments, or do you just want to throw down on YouTube and glorify yourself? Prayerfully and lovingly move forward with these conversations.

  • @sirdevio very very well said

  • his look at 4:07 just gives me chills, amazing

  • @franciswh -- actually he was already dead when they stabbed him

  • I watched this again on Good Friday.

This was really moving & went well with the song.

    I'm going to share this.

  • HURR GOD AND CHRIST IS A LIE.

    -DEAL

    -WITH

    -IT

  • @ArrogantCommentator3 you seem very sure of your self, shouting in all caps doesn't make your opinion right, im here to enjoy this music video, not to listin to you

  • so epic! the video put to the sing fits pretty well too... vheissu still reigns supreme as my favorite thrice album thus far.

  • when a member of such a band is a christian (or of any other religion) its hard for that not to infuence their music..... i know that it does infuence mine and thats just how people work.

  • Christ was a pussy bet it didn't even hurt.

  • @franciswh ever been wrongfully accused? how about wrongfully tortured and then hung to bleed to death while you suffocate because your lungs are being crushed by your own weigh because you cant hold up your weigh with nails threw your feet. then perhaps some may decide to shove a spear threw your side... and even after all that. he said "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do" Sounds more like a hero.. no.. a Savior if you ask me.

  • @franciswh dude fuck u, im not christian or anything but just because you dont believe in something doesnt give u the right to be ignorant as fuck. keep that shit to ur self.

  • That was incredible.

  • did they make any videos for the past cdsss???? beggars??'

  • @zullone Yeah they made one for "In Exile"

  • Religion aside this is a great song, and this is the best video for it..!

  • Best. Outro. Ever

  • wow, you did a great job with the video! .... you did well to attach at putting an image to the song!

  • Im an atheist but i still reckon its a great song :D

  • What people get wrong is man tried to reword the teachings of Christ for centuries. some got it right others got it wrong. but the message is clear and you don't have to be a Christian to follow his simple teachings of peace, love and understanding. the world would be a much better place if we started caring for one another instead of trying to outdo each other.

  • Comment removed

  • @whogotdmosh Thats's where you are wrong. I would venture to guess that you aren't a Christian, because then you would know that to follow his teachings IS to be a Christian. He claimed to be the Son of God, try to follow that without being a Christian. Also, If you think what he said was right, then why would you then claim him to be a liar or a lunatic? You are only being hypocritical.

  • @Swigbeast22 i would ask you to venture by shoving your head up your own ass. i'm catholic mate.

  • @whogotdmosh true but what is this world without a little competition eh?

  • Whoa... I am speechless.

  • the ending is fucking epic!!!

  • I personally am agnostic- I don't deny Christianity at all. I, like, rodriguez256, am a very open minded person. I don't see Jesus Christ as a one and only truth, I see him as a possible truth. However, I do not oppose Christianity or the belief in any God. Live and let live. Hey, someone's atheist, let them be atheist. Someone believes in the Cult of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, let 'em believe something that ridiculous. Just saying. Don't force your beliefs on others.

  • @MechaPedobear i can see what you mean, but what if believing in the cult of the flying spaghetti monster would end up killing them?!.. should you just let them, or say something. (but saying something, is different than fighting).

  • @rockxhero That was merely a made up thing used to prove my point. But anyway, everyone dies eventually. If people wanna die for there FSM, let them.

  • Actually, 'bitter herbs' in this song refers to the passover meal...everything the jews ateand did during passover was the prophecy and foreshadowing of the coming of Jesus. the children after eating the bitter herbs would say, "why do we eat nothing but bitter herbs and unleavned bread tonight?" the father of the household would then tell the story of the coming messiah. i believe what he's talking about relates to Peter, but this song screams of a personal conviction, that we all experience.

  • idiots.... this song is not all about how peter denied christ as his lord but how people trust in things they dont know anything about and when they discover the truth they burn "like moths to flame". once again the bitter herbs is a reference to smoking weed but everyone always thinks they know whats going on. this song is not about fairy tales in the bible or smoing pot... its about putting trusst into things you know nothing about. JUST BELIEVE THEYRE WHO THEY SAY THEY ARE!!!

  • Keep denying, you will all meet him one day!

  • Not once, not twice, but thrice.........awsome job man keep up the good work

  • this video kicks ass love how u connected it with passion of the christ im sure that this is actually what the song is i get teery and get goosebumps at the last bit

  • when Dustin first starts singing it reminds me of The Cure hahaha

  • i like how you did scened from the passion. very fitting for the song I think

  • very good.

  • beginning is EXACTLY like image of the invisible. Interesting.

  • @besitos99 they took the beginning of this song and put it at the beginning of the Image of the Invisible music video

  • @11Jesusrocks11 i noticed-i just dont get why, what was it they just needed a song to fill in the beginning part?

  • @besitos99 well, you're right & your wrong. the "Image of the Invisible" music VIDEO DOES begin with THIS song, but the actual "Image of the Invisible" song does not begin that way.

how interesting of you to notice this, because I did not, until you mentioned it!

  • i think if dustin saw this, he would be happy with it.

  • @kmcgill794 So would the rest of the band, they're not all Christian but they believe in God and trust in Christ.

  • @madman3247 very aware of this. i was just pointing dustin out in particular cuase ya know, they ARE his lyrics.

  • Good job with the video man...its definably heavy,,,,spiritually and musically...:)

  • intense clips from the passion. lined up well in some spots, awesome song, great job with the video

  • Great job on the vid. fits the song perfectly

  • Christian band or not, should that really change how you feel about the music the create? No it shouldn't... does it? probably, because society is so up tight about to much these days

  • Anyone to dislike a band because they maybe put a lyrics about god or something they(they band) believe in is retarded.

  • @Commiteee Yeah! Fuck anyone who cares to remember all the atrocities the Catholic church has committed over the span of human history in the name of God!

I like Thrice, but even I get tired of the God propaganda from time to time. It's not an invalid criticism.

  • @lawlsimpopular i would not call Thrice's lyrics God propaganda at all. This is simply the retelling of a powerful biblical story, portrayed in a very poetic and beautiful way. Not exactly propaganda

  • @brooks450 You know what? Propaganda was probably a poor choice of words. I was just trying to communicate that the endless barrage of biblical symbolism gets tiring, especially when juxtaposed against the ugliness the Catholic church has brought into the world.

Don't get me wrong, though. Many of their songs benefit from the inclusion of biblical references. The line "take up your cross before your crown" in The Weight of Glory is one of my all time favorite lyrics from any song.

  • @lawlsimpopular oh okay. i can't disagree with that; the Catholic church definitely has caused its problems in our world. But thats an awesome lyric, also one of my favorites

  • @lawlsimpopular

8 of vheissu's songs are straight from the bible. just sayin dude.

the other 3 just dont have enough to be direct quotes.

  • @Commiteee True. I don't believe in god at all and Thrice is my favorite band! I find the lyrics from Thrice to inspirational.

  • @rodriguez256

May I ask why you don't believe in God?

  • @downtoawhisper I stop believing in god when I was seven. Just started questioning everything around me. And I haven't come upon anything that made me think otherwise. I am an open minded person. I would like to believe there is a god. But I can't lie to myself either. Hopefully one day I'll find that knowledge. Right now I feel like maybe "god" is something so far complex that we wouldnt be able to comprehend it. And I know that I can't go through another man to find it.

  • @rodriguez256

You say that you are an open minded person. Based on my experience with this state of mind, I can tell you that it is actually a very dangerous way to conduct yourself. I understand that this may seem completely contradicting to what the world tells you is best, but just consider for a moment what it really means to be open minded. It leads to an "anything goes" attitude. This attitude can only destroy a person's foundation for anything, which is very scary. Now, when I say....

  • @downtoawhisper I guess consider me dangerous without intent. And anything doesnt go. To follow something just because were taught to is more dangerous in its self. To have an open mind is to sit back and take in the whole picture to formulate a conclusion on a topic or belief. To see what we interpret as wrong from right.

  • @rodriguez256

"To follow something just because we're taught is more dangerous in itself." I agree with this 100%. We should all do our own research before we take on a mindset. However, keep in mind, that if anyone is teaching you anything (no matter what the subject) they already have a fundamental bias...otherwise they would not even be speaking with you. So, therefore, when one teaches you to question your beliefs, it is because they feel you should. Just as when one teaches you to be....

  • @downtoawhisper I understand. No one told me to question my belifs. I was seven and everyone around was heavily religous. I used to wear a stiched cross for a necklace. It was put on in a knot. And one day it fell off which i couldnt come to understand how. And has i reached to pick it up, my questions flooded me. I then decided i would follow my heart instead of the word from others. I think pehaps there could be a "God". But if so, I highly doubt its close to what the bible describes.

  • @rodriguez256

Have you ever studied ethics and philosophy from a religious standpoint? How do we know right from wrong? What makes a person want to be good? How do we obtain knowledge in itself? Finding the answers to these questions will help you to understand our most basic connections to God and realize that there is no other possible explanation for our mere existence than that the Almighty God of the Bible does exist. You must get to the root of the issue. Otherwise, you will get lost....

  • @rodriguez256

....in the mixture of worldviews and their deceptions. Believe me, I know from experience.

I would love to send you my testimony if you wouldn't mind. I think you and I may have been through similar experiences.

  • @downtoawhisper But one of the most beautiful things to me is, that we can share our beliefs without anger or discrimination, That we can coexist. I blieve in Love and Peace. So I only wish everyone happiness and love. I hope ur belief takes you to ur dreams. Even if im right or wrong, I wish the best to all.

  • @rodriguez256

...faithful to God, it is because they believe you should be. There would be no reason for speaking if there were not an agenda based on a specific bias to propose. And, again, this is true with any subject. The reason why I tell you this is because I sense an overall tone of neutrality in your message to me. I wonder if you have ever really thought about what a truly neutral (open minded) perspective is like.

  • @rodriguez256

....it's dangerous to be open minded, I hope that you don't mistake it to mean that I am opposed to knowledge. I am a huge advocate of knowledge. It is extremely important to know what we believe and WHY we believe it, as anyone can twist anything into the truth. Just know that there is only ONE Truth, and that Truth is Jesus Christ.

I am wondering if you have ever read the Bible for yourself?

  • @rodriguez256 perhaps it is simply a conspiracy or inaccurate, perhaps the whole story about our exsistence and co-exsistence with god is incorrect. But with the ability to reason comes confusion because we have to decide for ourselfs between right and wrong. There is no time in your life when your belief in god will arise above all other past occurences with your questioning of god's exsistence, it is you who must choose whether or not you want to trust in him. T

  • @igunzOsick I think the bible would hold up better if it was complete. The fact that the bible has been rewritten several times, had peices taken out. Then more reinterpretations and people deciding what could go in to it, damaged its credability. I still believe its a good story with some good moral value. We should feel with our hearts instead of a words on paper.

  • @rodriguez256 I would say if you really want to know if there is a God or not, ask Him. Try praying, and praying that. Try reading the Bible's scripture (again maybe). God is big enough that He can handling you question him. Read a book like "Evidence That Demands A Verdict", "A Ready Defense" by Josh McDowell, "Mere Christianity" by C.S. Lewis.

  • @rockxhero Thanks for the suggestions. Ill be sure to read up on it.

  • @rodriguez256 glad to hear it. I hope the best for you man, that things work out for you in life. (I didn't say "everything" b/c no one's life is perfect... except for one..). God bless.

  • @Commiteee is it okay to hate ICP because of what they believe in? or do I have to only hate them because their music sucks too?

  • @andrewmadden777 Hate them for what ever you see fit.

  • @Commiteee They didnt maybe put lyrics about God, they did put lyrics about God.

  • @okballer I said maybe meaning other bands that might have a reference that could or could not mean be about god. Hence why I said band and not Thrice.

  • @thongbikinibootyshak thrice is NOT a christian band bro, that's also stereotypical. They were never once or never will be one, yea dustin sings a lot about gods views and biblical passages. But they were never in it to be a "Christian Band."

  • Speechless

  • This movie is so brutal. its unimaginable what happened to Christ, but it did. and the music was an excellent choice!

    -God Bless

  • BEST BAND IN HISTORY!

  • sure maybe some of their lyrics reference the bible but thrice are farrrrr from being a christian rock band. God those 2 words in the same sentence make me cringe.

  • Like in Image of the Invisible, the music video starts with part of this song... and I believe it is about religious oppression... so they are related...

  • @PhatMike443 Image of the invisible start with tunes from the song 'music box'. not this song

  • @Oilerswin2010 dude the intro for the video of 'Image of the invisible' is this song

  • almost all of their songs have some reference to christianity. thrice is not far at all from being a christian rock band, in fact they might just be the epitome of one, but that doesn't mean there aren't several ways to interpret their lyrics and it doesn't make them any less amazing.

  • agreed, as long as they don't write lyrics that say *praise jesus* or what not then im ok

  • true but "christian band" has become more a stereo type in the modern dictionary as a way of...i guess you could say as an insult meaning fag band or something of the same sort.

  • @mikeportnoyfan

just about every song on vheissu is directly from the bible and have direct lines quoted. like this song? is the story of peter line for line. the earth will shake? paul's escape from prison during an earthquake. Hold Fast Hope? jonah and the whale.

  • @NotOurRemedy

yeah but they are atleast able to make it sound cool.

  • PRAISE JESUS!

  • now whenever i hear this song i think of this video

  • extraordinary song and powerful video! Good work!

  • the last like 40 seconds total goosebumps

  • A man above all men.

  • great song. thrice lyrics are written beautifully. and for miles is a song about miles davis, the trumpet player. this is a different song. good job on the video too.

  • great song, the video is really sad. When i watch it i tear up

  • freaking epic! great video editing to work with the song!

  • moths to flame?isnt that like... transfigurationg by annie dillard or the death of a moth by virginia somethinsomething?

  • i got chills......

  • me too...

  • Always makes me cry, you did a GREAT job with this.

  • well if you read the lyrics that is what the song is about

  • great song, bad video. just my opinion.

  • great song

    and great video

  • most if not ALL of thrice's songs are biblical, if you didn't already know that

  • So many people don't understand that they write about the bible so often. It's very frustrating because it's obvious that they are not really LISTENING to the meaning behind the lyrics.

  • For Miles is a great example as well

    Thrice is amazing

  • seriously for real, im waiting for the idiot who says "for miles isn't about judas betraying Jesus, its about some metaphorical thingy, stop talking about religion D:<" i hate when ppl come to a song that is clearly and obviously Christian and tell everyone to stop talking about religion -.-

  • It's because religion's such a touchy subject, I think.

  • Or they just don't care about the lyrics. I am aware of Thrice's tendency to write about scripture, but I really don't care and appreciate them for their passionate songwriting and cathartic music, rather than their lyrics.

  • awesome video

  • good video, but its kinda funny at 1:58 the phrase that Peter says is actually almost the same line used in "For Miles" by Thrice

  • what a coincidence!!

  • yes... judas was the betrayer but peter to save his own life denied knowing jesus so the guards wouldn't kill him too.

  • it's totally about Peter man good lookin out

  • good video, hard to watch

  • Crazy awesome video.

  • Judas was the betrayer... not Peter.

  • Peter also betrayed Jesus, three times in the same night and the song IS about Peter's betrayal. You can read it in the book of Mark

  • song is about peter denying christ. He was told he would deny jesus by jesus and never understood how that was possible. he did it around a campfire, he HEARD the cock crow.

  • im not really religious, but i love dustins lyrics to that story... and the music fits very well to it. the ending is one of the eloquentest passages ive ever heard.

    thrice is perfection

  • Whether you believe Jesus is your savior or not (which I don't) you can still feel some compassion for the man considering all that he went through. Crucifixion is one hell of a fucking execution method.

  • And yet, he wasn't the only one who went through that.

  • Nice video, good job!

  • the ending to this song is so crushing. so good so good.

  • Pretty damn powerful my friend

  • soo good!

  • I almost seem to think this song reminds me more of Judas.

How do you know it is Peter and not Judas?

  • its definately about Peter, if you listen to the lyrics its about his denying Jesus three time in the courtyard and then the cock crows just as Jesus prophecied.

  • You can tell it's about Peter because Peter told Jesus he would die with him before he ever betrayed him. Jesus then proceeded to tell him that befor the cock crowed he would deny him three times. This is an amazing song and it fits the video very well.

  • This is what true music should sound like

  • wow!

  • WOW.

  • wow this was amazing

  • wow

  • wow *2

  • EXCELLENT video. Very well put together. That was quite powerful.

  • whos that guy?

  • Jesus?

    hahaha

  • lol SRSLY!?

  • yah SRSLY?!

  • YEAH!

  • this song is all kinds of awesome, chalked full of it.

  • damn.... that was amazingly put together.. and such a story from dustins words, after all The Bible and the story of Jesus was the best ever told as said by Charles Dickens and i agree

  • hmmm... I just thought the lyrics "stand and feel your worth" meant to better yourself. Like a sarcastic tone... I guess I just take things in a more positive way.

  • I think this video is the ultimate way of illistrating the song. Dustin's faith has grown so much from what it once was and i think we all can learn something from him

  • Peter's denial of christ is the ultimate example for humanity to grasp even when we deny christ. that christ will forgive us and let us know where to go if we seek him through our hearts for the things Jesus taught us.. love one another, live for one another.. live for christ.. don't live for flesh. live for the spirit.

  • amen, brother.

  • Wow...that was very impressive...I got to see this movie...Wow...

  • I must say, I preffer enterpriting the song in my own way, than a christian one. :\

  • well if you didnt know, the members of Thrice, at least i know Dustin and Teppei are Christian, thats why a lot of their songs have Christian themes. This song happens to be about Jesus, so you can interpret it any way you want, but its still about Jesus

  • I know, that's why I said it. It's just I had a really deep meaning for it, although knowing they had Christian members and references in most of their songs, I did not know this one did.
