I kno that its not the correct meaning of the song, But I think of the lyrics talking about a deployment when you have a girl at home and you dont kno what shes doing and just want to go home. "With a hole in my heart I was supposed to ride" As in going on with the pointless tasks in the dessert in the humvee, "somebody tell me it wont be long" self explanitory, i like to believe that this is the meaning even tho it isnt.
