You could seal it up completely and have a collection tank ( same shape) inside so the condensation fills it up. Although I am not sure how well it would work since the ground would need to be sealed off from the outside aswell. But yes I like the concept. A collection "ditch" or pond around the dome that drains into an underground tank.

inverted top is feasable but unwise, a complete dome with no inverted top is the strongest structure. makes far more sence for an artesian well or collection tanks underground with pumps to a sprinkler system on the interior of the dome to simulate rain

there isnt enough surface area at the top to collect much water..

if you want to collect water from the dome you should put a gutter system around the base to collect and then have it runn off into a pond or submerged tank.

also your dome isnt geodesic so it wont be very stable..

ya, but it would be cool if it rained occasionaly from the top, would be more realistic. i want to build something like this one day too. would be pretty cool.
