I first met Lis when I was only a little girl. She was just so lovely to me and my Mum and I will miss her a lot more than I had imagined. She was a fantastic actress and ultimately a lovely, lovely person. I am so sad she has gone.

Ahhh, Elisabeth Sladen. The actress herself is every bit as adorable, charming, sweet and normal as "Sarah Jane" was in DW. I first learned of Lis as an American fan introduced to DW in the late 1970's PBS broadcasts of the early Tom Baker era. Lis has become one of my all-time favorite actresses.

I'm sorry Lis put her career on hold after her dughter was born, but I HIGHLY respect and admire that decision.

Barry Letts thought that Lis could have been a tremendous star otherwise!
