Thank you for posting this. I have a friend whose son was killed by a drunk driver and she did not get ANY KIND OF PUNISHMENT!!! Not only was she drunk, but she chose to run a red light. Thanks again for sending out such a strong message. Hope more people realize what is going to happen if they drink and drive. That is why I am the DD (Designated Driver) for several people. So they will not have to go through the mourning after.
@vanillacrab So truthfully, how many accidents have you been in? The majority of people arent getting convicted of DUI for being a danger, theyre getting convicted because its easy money for the state, Idiots like you will never see this of course, and add grist for the mill. Lets make it um, 25000 dollars first conviction and make the BAC .08. Never mind that in a court of law .05 is stone sober, lets make it ,04 for commercial drivers. Then, lets make at our discretion for the remainder.

See, the fact is that just because youve had a few drinks doesnt mean youre impaired. Ive been drinking and driving for 20 years and never have had a single accident. Ever. So I guess I should be in jail for 10 years at 35k a year cost to taxpayers huh?

I'm glad people are becoming more aware. I know it's stupid that I put a time on drunken idiots- but I do NOT drive weekends from midnight-4 am unless have to...it scares the crap out of me that ppl do this and some thinks it's fun or laugh at DUI videos!!! It's too scary!! thank you for trying to get the word out there of IT'S NOT A GAME/SOMTHING TO BE PROUD OF/A PASSTIME...this is REAL life and DEADLY serious!! I think driving while intoxicated should be a pre-meditated murder charge and not a manslaughter charge.
The ones who do drink and drive made a conscience choice to do so while knowing all of the risks involved!!!
