BOOO!!!! A70 Supra missed out of it's rightful second place due to driver error!!!

...btw, I have an A70 Supra which is a daily driver and sees regular track use. Still feels like a modern car, semi-slick tires and track suspension isn't very comfy on the road though :-p

...also they have a bit of a bad reputation for being heavy, which they kind of are, but that's mostly Turbo Targas with stock seats, mine is an NA coupe with race buckets. Turbos are faster, but on the track NA I6 is so sweet

the track is a little bit weight and when the drivers make a some-what hard turn, the tail will slide out a little bit because the cars are rwd.

No thats a drift, you can see the countersteer on the in car shot, if they werent drifting the rear wouldnt slide out at all.

first off,

drifting is slower on the track so why would they want to go slower on the track?

they are only counter steering because the track is wet (like i said before) so the tail slides out and in result they have to countersteer to keep the car from spinning out.

uh, s13s have horrible weight balance , which is exactly why they drift so well. Perfect 50/50 weight distribution is great for circuit racing etc where good handling is required, but once they let go youre going to find it hard to bring it back.

Yeah the mkiii Supra had very soft stock suspension, plus your car is now 21 years old. Nothing that a set of aftermarket coilover or performance springs/dampers can't cure. There's also ST swaybars you can get, and you'll cure that annoying body roll.

RX-7 has the shortest wheel base, designed for grip driving, so in essence, is still the worst car to drift, if you look at the chassis dimensions and how it was designed.

dude thats 202 at the flywheel, in translation the 7 and the s13 both have around 170 to the wheels. And 7's dont have a perfect weight distribution either. S13's are known for their incredible weight balance, thats what makes them so popular today.

the rx7 has a 49.8/50.2 weight distribution. and it has 185-190hp at the wheels. since theyres 2 models of FC, S4 86-88 with 186hp. and S5 with 202hp. As for the S13 its with the CA18DET, not even the Sr20det. as for the s13 being popular, its only a popular chassis for drifting, its in no other kind of road racing. while RX7's are the record holder for most victories in SCCA and IMSA history, from 1978 to early 90's. And still now, in IMSA you can still see 1st gen rx7 races and win.
