To everyone complaining about "sliding his foot" that is how CAP does it. That is how the Air Force does it, Army and Navy, as far as what I've been told, do "stamp" their feet.

yes I really needed all this, because I'm going in the army next year encoring to my shipping date.. Now, the thing is that I'm getting used to English language and it is difficult to me.. THANKS! IT IS APPRECIATED!

Very helpful, I just enlisted in the Navy two weeks ago. Haven't been to a DEP meeting yet (tomorrow) and ya i'm nervous because i'm not sure about things and I HATE being unprepared for things. I already know i'm going to be behind people on the physical stuff i've been doing some videos on youtube to help motivate me to get more in shape (actually i need to go make a new one)
HOOOOOLY SHIITIIIITTT YOU AMERICANS DO IT SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DIFFERNET WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! in australia about turns you turn around, and then move your legs, its easier because you dont have to practis untill you can out your foot in thr right position.
also at the end of about turns, and any other turns, we lift up our legs, 35 centermetres of the ground, with our legs at a 45 deggree angle, then slam it down into position.
@iSoftware1234 You know of Left/Right, FACE, you turn and you move your foot up to get back to that 45º angle like he's doing? I keep doing that for About, FACE and I keep rotating on the balls of my feet. Gah! And I almost have to keep myself from tripping over my feet :P.
@coolcatevan9 That's the best feeling, isn't it, lol? Someone just pisses you off, but you don't have a legitimate reason- I get that a lot -__-u. But, again, I am a little too judgmental. Even if I don't mean to be.

A sincere thank you for posting this video.
@uknowuloveme01 Try doing Canadian Drill. you get in shit if you don't place your foot in the EXACT Placement area... But yeah, English drill would be hard too.
Cpl. Tyler E/L Luke, 172 Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron
Why do you not stamp your feet together in the US. You make it more difficult for yourself on about turn. Just pivot and about turn instaed of moving your foot behind you.
@nickm16a2 I would never call myself a marine until the point I earn my EGA in boot. I've said that i'm IN the marines before, because technically as a Poolie you are enlisted, have started your term of service, and are in the marine corps ready reserve. (I read my papers sitting in the waiting room at MEPS lol) but ya, I would get offended too, and i correct my friends whenever they say i'm a marine... because I'm not yet.
I don't know it could just be me but the Commonwealth drill to me seems so much easier than this. I'm in the RCAirC and as much as I like learning different styles of drill I still think ours is the easiest and nicest. Personally opinion no insult intended.
DO NOT DO THE FOLLOWING: Lock your knees at attention. never bend your knees. if you feel a numbness or disorientation, keep your knees locked. then, shift about, being sure to draw as much attention to you as possible. Its not hard, not at all. DO NOT DO THIS AT ALL. YOU WILL COLLAPSE OR FAIL YOUR UNIT, MORON! I REPEAT DO NOT DO. I think I made my point.
I've always liked the American way of drilling. Ours is the same but we have to stomp the left (In some insances like left face the right) boot as well. Perfect for killing your foot lol
Btw 6 insens of the ground and when u hold ur hand like that make sure ur u don't see anyholes witch I saw but I guess good job and thanks for helping people
@FatimaaLizbeet depends on which squadron your in cause some are more lax than others but usually youll just get told off later and not in front of the group. they cant make you do physical excercises as a punishment because that would be hazing
@CAPTutorialized Will they teach you things before they make you do it and yell at you for messing up? I am joining soon and I don't want to get yelled at for messing up to often.
@XsniperPro1 It's perfectly fine to be inexperience at drill when you are just joining. They will teach you. I am an Airman First Class and I still suck at drill lol. There is suppose to be no hazing, but kids think it's cool by doing it. Don't take it personal.
@unitylovefamily its not in AFM 36-2203, BUT many squadrons and rotc units use it just as a way to adjust in a military manner if you absolutely have to.
MrMobbydick12- first off you look like your about 9 years old. and if americans suck and drill so bad lets see you come down here and try to show me up at drill cause ill smoke you. and he is showing the drill movements correctly so keep your mouth shut.
MrMobbydick12 is actually right, although the kid on the video is doing the US drill movements right, it still looks shit because there is hardly any effort that goes into it. British drill looks much better, its harder to perform as well.
@MrMobbydick12 First off its called basic drill for a reason. Second if i catch you commenting on another one of these tutorials I will come up to your frozen tundra and shove a hockey stick up your ass.
I always thought that when performing an about face, your right leg should always be kept STRAIGHT on the "backswing". I might just be crazy though haha.
I'm starting CAP next week to help my NROTC application I wish my city had MCJROTC but sadly we don't so CAP will have to do long as I learn how to follow commands, march, and start to learn proper obedience that's all that matters to me. Alot of people rag on groups like Sea Cadets, CAP, MCJROTC, AFJROTC, AJROTC, and NJROTC, some people do it to boost their ego but alot of us do it because we want to be officers and are looking to be career miltiary, we are the future, lets make something of it
Dude, I like the idea of what you're doing. Every fall, my squadron gets flooded with a bunch of brand new cadets who know nothing at all about the Civil Air Patrol. I think your videos might actually help solve that problem, and teach these guys a thing or two before they get into a squad.
I'm just curious, but you strike me as one of those guys who end up going into one of the academies. Are you interested in applying?

about turn left/right turn
but i like your about turns more
during turns we bring our foot up 6 inches then bring it down creates a bang.
about turn we pivot as of right turn but turn 180* not 90* and bang our foot

@unitylovefamily its not in AFM 36-2203, BUT many squadrons and rotc units use it just as a way to adjust in a military manner if you absolutely have to.

MrMobbydick12- first off you look like your about 9 years old. and if americans suck and drill so bad lets see you come down here and try to show me up at drill cause ill smoke you. and he is showing the drill movements correctly so keep your mouth shut.
ElkoCAP 1 year ago
@ElkoCAP
MrMobbydick12 is actually right, although the kid on the video is doing the US drill movements right, it still looks shit because there is hardly any effort that goes into it. British drill looks much better, its harder to perform as well.
