I LOVE Ham Tyler!! Even when I was little and first watched this. It wasn't until I bought the series a few months ago though that I realised how hot he is! I had thought Marc Singer was the cutie. And so true to those of you who commented on Marc's acting. Bless him but it was woeful! LOL The overly dramatic moves and line delivery haha. Michael Ironside was by far the best actor in V and the sexyist! Ever notice when he runs that his hands flop about? I think it's endearing though! ;)
What I alwasy thought was funny was that Ham didnt come into the dance till Pt 2 of V;FB and he had one of the biggest impacts of the series. He reminds me of Hawk from the Spenser for Hire series. Both possibily the most dangerous man on the planet.
@ 1:12 - 1:20 we find out that Ham Tyler & his people are using teflon-coated ammunition in order to pierce the body armor of the Vs.
.
"You got a teflon load in this?"
.
From 1:43 - 2:12 we find that at least some of the aliens are not as intelligent or advanced as we thought they were, when the V soldiers foolishly decide to take cover behind some cardboard boxes & containers! In fact, @ 2:14 - 2:21 it didn't keep the V who took cover behind a old-style laundry press from getting dead either!
@karlkole Agreed. Though, to be fair, what I kinda liked about the portrayal of an alien race in "V" was that they weren't necessarily more advanced- in fact they had all the same mixture of good and bad, foolish and intelligent as our species- their technology was simply a little further ahead. Unusual for a Sci-FI show to depict aliens that way...
That was a funny media error in 70's and 80's, armor piercing ammo is usual made with a steel core and since gun barrels are also made of steel the metal + metal contact broke guns quickly.
To get around it they used Teflon on the bullets to lucbricate and protect the barrel, its funny how the news stations attributed armor piercing to TEFLON, THE MOST EVIL TYPE OF LUBRICANT! XD
I'll be god damned if my eyes weren't glued to the screen during this gun fight when it first came out. My friends and I all fought over who would play Ham Tyler when we played war in our neighborhood.
Agree with tylerari, Ham Tyler was a much more realistic and credible character than Mike Donovan... I hate the episode when Tyler takes Robyn to Chicago and doesn't appear anymore for the rest of the series, it's so stupid! Ironside is by far the best actor of the series (including this 2009 remake, I watched the first episode and didn't like it at all) .
Ham Tyler is bbbb-bad to the bone!

Yeah, that V trooper at 0:50 must be more snake than lizard, cause it looks like he just swallowed an entire hog.
=D

Ham Tyler was one of the few characters that really put himself involved, and so the watcher, in the Resistance mouvement in the series!

Ham Tyler certainly gave V more dimension and substance preventing a cliche good vs evil scenario.
