@heros1635 I believe the 98 galant can use the turbos from the 1st and 2nd gen eclipse. The headers might be a direct bolt on as well but you'll want to look into it. Not sure if the supercharger fights that motor style though.
@heros1635 my engine has a SOHC 4g64. The eclipse has the 4g63....at least the American version of the cars have those engines. If you have the 4g63 motor then I'd look into the turbo from the eclipse gst or gsx.
@crackcars Without a tune and running really rich it was putting out just over 200whp on 10 lbs of boost. I dyno'd the car stock when I first bought it and it only put out 110 whp.
Nice ride!!!!! did u change any of ur internals? did u alter the ecu? how many miles did the car have on when u put a supercharger? how well has ur galant held up using a supercharger im thinking bout goin wit it to instead of a turbo.
@kockdiezel09 I did not change any of the internals. The ECU had a tuned 'gray box' that comes from rippmods. I think I had around 40k when I put the supercharger in. I drove the galant for about a year with it on and had no problems. It all comes down to how well you treat your car.
@kockdiezel09 Never touched the internals. The SC comes with a gray box module that controls the fuel mapping. You can squeeze out more horsepower if you put your own fuel management and tune though. I put the supercharger on at around 50,000 miles and it held up fine. I ran it with an NX nitrous kit for a year prior with no problems neither.
In a straight line maybe, but turn a corner with the power on and you just understeer, taking off from a standing start gets you know where but tourqe steer, and yes you are right, drifting, powerskids, anything actually fun, is waisted on a FWD...
Turn a corner with a RWD and you get oversteer....in either case you don't over throttle a turn. If you have a LSD on your tranny you don't get torque steer, just straight motion. Also, on a front wheel drive, even though all the weight is in the front, the weight shifts to the rear of the car when you launch....that's why they suggest your rear struts are stiffer than the front, to help prevent wheel hop.
sounds good i have a 2000 galant v6 runs great just stock but intake and exhaust cant really think of much more to do to it i want to do some stuff just not sure what
im not trying to make a race car im just trying to make something fun to drive in for a first car i dont see anyone needing a 500 hp car a car with 300 is probally to much or good for me
in some ways it makes sense to have a front wheel drive car because all the hieght is on the tires. But I guess if your the kinda guy that loves doing donuts and drifts it would be nice to have a rwd car.
Arizona....no it's not stock. Stage 1 pcm, nologoy wires, AGP wastegate (18 psi), injen short ram, MAP clamp, needswing v5 downpipe, and AEM wideband O2 sensor. Soon to get new struts for it too.
I can't in this car since I sold it awhile ago. I'll give you a run in my srt-4 but only from a dig on street tires.....I know you have traction problems on with that kind of hp.
thank you. yet you will know something about it write

rickg156 2 years ago
Give up and buy a decent car and motor combo!
At least RWD.
Why do people keep buying FWD then go for power??
If you want comfort then buy FWD.
You cant use it for anything, and its just a waist of money!

We pinched the fuel return line to ping as much gas as possible because my car was running lean.

ohhhh i figured how how to do it on my '03.. theres like a pulley system that pulls the gas and its at the same location as it is in your '01
